It looks as if I'm going to have to retire early. I've been moving into my dorm and going through orientation the past couple days, and now that I want to finally sit down and do my promo, I find out the site is blocked on my school's internet. The only way I can access the site is via my phone, and it is simply unreasonable to type a promo on this. For
the foreseeable future, I'm done.

You should stick around... someone is bound of find a proxy server or something to that effect.
There are ways around this sort of thing.

It's not often I hear about xwf being blocked somewhere (like a school or work) but on occasion it DOES happen. I'm not sure how the XWF got added to those block lists when the XWF has no similar domain names or shared/public extensions in our URL like many feds share, but it does happen sometimes.

Zoey pretty much has the solution here. We actually do already have a considerable number of people who use proxies when they visit the XWF, either because of the site being blocked on their regular internet OR because of the XWF site blocking that person's internet connection for various reasons. I'm told there are also some strange situations where the site runs faster for some people through a proxy. Finding a simple web proxy online is the way to go. If you need any help, let me know!

I go to a high school, so that might explain why it's blocked. My school's IT team is excellent so proxies are all out of the question, and even if I did find a way, I'd be caught eventually and given a VERY serious write up. I think I have a way to be able to post on the forums in the future, but I'll have to be sure it's a good method before I can say for sure. For now, I'm going to have to be inactive.

An IT team being good doesn't have anything to do with new web proxies being released that are not blocked yet. No IT team at any school is out there blocking new web proxies on a daily basis. It wouldn't be a realistic task to even think of pursuing. Trust me... they aren't stopping proxies unless they have your network so insanely Nazi'fied that the ONLY sites you CAN access are ones they manually added to a "safe list" in which case 99% of the web is blocked. Very unlikely that's the case though. They're probably going by a block list that has to be added to.

The idea of getting caught and running into trouble, however, is probably a very real threat and I certainly wouldn't want you running into any issues because of us. Hopefully you'll find a method that doesn't draw attention to you... but then again didn't you say you'd be in a dorm room and wouldn't there be a computer or your own personal laptop or something, so as to not have somebody literally catch/see you on the site?
