See the thing about reusing old material, its like plagiarism's little brother. He isn't really doing anything wrong, but its because he doesn't know better. I'm not saying using your old stuff to have a baseline is a bad thing, but its out of place here. When you wrote your old stuff, people knew the person already. Your character is now to us, so it should be treated like your the new kid in school. We know nothing about the you from the old school, just the new kid in front of us. I f you start using your "old work", who's to say you won't graduate to other people's work? Jsut so you know, if you do, someone WILL catch it.
