I decided to start with PPV results and hoped that would demonstrate a really clear winner so I wouldn't have to dig into every single week of every single show to determine every nominee's win-loss records...
I used all the nominees and added two that I noticed weren't on the list but had stellar years worth nominating IMO, Charlie Nickles and Corey Smith...
Before we do math, I wanna say, I love all y'all and when I get to read y'all's work, it's phenomenal and I love it. This math is all IC match results and does not reflect anybody's work output or hustle
Now, BEGIN THE MATHS!
I started by tallying their PPV Records and accounting for accomplishments that took place within the calendar year...

Won My Heart Years Ago
Quote:Hey Wait! My PPV record wasn't that!
So, I counted cash-ins as an individual match. So if you got cashed in on, that's a loss. It's a gray area, I just wanted to tally and track cash-ins. If you disagree, remove cash-ins from your own calculations
Quote:Mine's still off!
So, I didn't count WarGames as one match cuz then all but 3 nominees just get tallied with a loss.
So for instance, Charlie's Carnies won their first round match, so I tallied a win onto Dolly and Charlie. But, then Charlie's team lost in the finals, so I also tallied a loss. It's a way to recognize people who won their first round match but still acknowledge they lost in the finals.
All right? All right, great.
So, I'm going to start by crossing off below-500 PPV records so that scratches Dolly, Thad, Lycana, Betsy and Ned Kaye.
And leaves us with...
Alias, Corey, Page, Oswald, The Bastards, NK/Flynn, Caedus, Charlie and... VINNIE, GET OUTTA HERE
Okay, so we're gonna look at 500-record competitors next.
I'ma keep Jim on my shortlist, cuz he's the current Uni Title winner. But I'm gonna cut Oswald, just because I gotta start somewhere.
New List: Alias, Corey, Page, The Bastards, NK/Flynn, Caedus, Charlie
Okay, so I'm going to cut myself and it's not out of false humility, I just came in at the end of May and everyone else has been shining all year.
New List: Alias, Corey, Page, Bastards, Caedus, Charlie
Okay, here's we get into IC stuff to keep narrowing the list down, cuz fuck, this is hard.
Can't give it to Page cuz IC... he's been fired and that feels like it would put egg on company face to cut him loose, then give him Star of the Year.
New List: Alias, Corey, Bastards, Caedus, Charlie
I'm also... *heartbreak*... gonna cut Jim. But only because this is supposed to reflect the entire year and Jim only became the Uni Title holder last month. Watch for him next year, kids, he's set to run away with this thing in 2022
New List: Alias, Corey, Bastards, Charlie
Charlie's gotta go, he's put out some killer work all this year and also murdered Dick Powers (Rest in Power, You Angel), but his accomplishment list is a little shorter than everyone else on the list here... Charlie is definitely deserving of a finalist nom, though!
New List: Alias, Corey, Bastards
...
......
Fuck.
FUCK, this is tough.
...
Um, okay.
...
The Bastards deserve Tag Team of 2021, FOR SURE, zero doubt. But TEAM BoB came up short against WarGames and Bobby fell short of Alias competing for the Uni Title... BUT, The Bastards beat Thad & Corey for the tag belts in the first place! But not before losing to Corey & Dock at Snow Job.
Fuck.
Cutting the Bastards, just because they don't have stellar records this year against either of the other two nominees. But Tag Team of the Year in a fucking walk, yo.
That leaves Corey and Alias...
...Fuck.
By a razor-thin margin race, I gotta go Alias.
Both Corey and Alias had killer years, they both won 24/7 Briefcases, they both won WarGames, they both had almost flawless PPV records this year.
But, one of them won the Uni Title and held it for the largest chunk of the year of all the Uni Title-holders this year.
BEGIN THE SURPRISE SECONDARY MATHS!
2021 Uni Title Reigns
1/1/21 - 1/31/21 - Thaddeus Duke (31 days)
1/31/21 - 5/30/21 - Chris Page (121 days)
5/30/21 - 11/28/21 - Alias (181 days)
11/28/21 - 12/31/21(presumably) - Jim Caedus (33 days)
And thus, for holding the top title almost half the calendar year... I gotta go Alias.
