This has been one of the hardest months I can remember when it comes to picking SOTM's. Usually there is a clear winner, sometimes a second person deserves serious consideration. But this month I see three people who all could have a case made for them.

The irony here being that last month was the first time we've ever had three individual winners share the reward.

For my money the three people I see most deserving are...

Jim Caedus - Won Lethal Lottery and the Universal Title in the same month. Granted the latter was a result of the former but still the work had to be done to make that happen and Lethal Lottery is not an easy event to win.

Michael Graves - Has done a lot of great work to reinvent his character. His pedo storyline with Dolly while creepy is a lot of fun to watch play out. And he has really done a great job with getting threads started that receive a lot of attention/response.

Danny Imperial - I've seen a pretty big improvement from Imperial over the last month. For my money he is one of my favorite new(to me) characters to read. He's had a lot of really tough match ups which also speaks to him not shying away from the challenge as I personally feel that is one of the best ways to go about trying to improve. Capped off with winning the Television Title.

I guess the names above come down to what does SOTM mean to you?

Is it the superstar who truly did the best that month? If so, Caedus is really the only guy who deserves consideration.

Is is the superstar who was the most active and did the best work across the whole spectrum? If so, you have Graves.

Or is it the guy who has done some of their best work while improving steadily throughout the month? Cause that's where Imperial comes into play.

I don't know that in all my time in the fed that there has ever been a clear direction as to what SOTM should mean, people are free to vote however they want provided they give their reasons.

So with that being said, gun to my head, I have to pick one...I go with Graves.

For me the big difference is, and what I think took Caedus out of the equation was that while Lethal Lottery was in April, all the work for it was done in March.

And for Imperial, great as his improvement has been, Graves has been right up there with him, and when you factor in all the stuff on the boards that has come about from Graves current angle, that is the chief difference.

So yeah, Michael Graves for April SOTM.
