Hey, vaguely off topic but this is an OOC forum so hey, who cares? I haven't been on an efed in a long time, but when I used to I used to narrate my promos and put a sound clip alongside the text in my RP's. Thoughts on this? Admittedly it'd require a little brushing up of my Southern accent. I used to a mean William Regal impression when I did him, but the deep south accent may be more of a challenge.

I like the idea of adding a multimedia thing... I just wonder if it could live up to the image you want to portray, and I also wonder if anyone would actually listen. Maybe if you only did it from time to time for special segments, like a radio interview with your character or something?
I look at Barney Green, who does something completely different than anyone else, but because he can't look the part his character sucks... you know?
I agree completely. I'm not overly concerned about the character working, as (and I know this sounds like I'm being incredibly pretentious, but it is relevant) I have a degree in performing arts and a passion for monologues. My main issue will be the accent, as I'm from the UK and if anything I have quite a stereotypically posh English accent.
I'll get watching some Bray Wyatt promos, it'll be fine.
Bray Wyatt is Floridian. You're talking about doing Saint Louis. St. Louis isn't southern. If you want a good Missouri accent, Bob Barker, or Brad Pitt. They're from about 4 hours away from St. Louis. St. Louis is Mid West.
I think they might be multiplying over there guys.

Just to clarify, I live about 15 minutes south of Brooksville, Florida, where Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas hail from - NXT (formerly FCW) is out of Orlando, so a lot of guys wrestle there and a ton of wrestlers and other athletes call Florida home due to the lack of a state income tax in the Sunshine State.
Florida is as South as you can get, directionally, but isn't really "southern" in the way that states like Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee are because most people here come from somewhere else.

We also have a metric tonne of Kiwis as of late.
And Loverboy, I've heard northern Florida is pretty southern trashy. Never been, don't like southerners much. Odd since I live like 20 minutes from the Kentucky Border.

Think of Florida as the shower drain of the country. Everyone winds up here eventually. I was born in New York, and don't consider myself southern in anyway... but here I am.
Hey, it's all relative, as by happy coincidence it turns out that my character was just born in St. Louis and grew up in Alabama. Is that Southern enough?
It's strange, but because of the impact of American culture through television, film, literature and music, there's quite a set image of most parts of the United States over here. Though I know where Florida is geographically, the image of the state definitely isn't one of being a stereotypical southern state, if you know what I mean?
Up towards Alabama, and Georgia, that's your southern stereotypes. Miami, Tampa, Clearwater. That's your warm beaches and the like. With Missouri, it's hard to place as either north or south. It's directly in the middle. The Mason Dixie Line actually goes pretty evenly through, hence why it was such a huge issue during the civil war. Arkansas borders it, and is Southern. Right over the border isn't., depending on who you ask. Whole state is country bumpkins, though. Sorry, Mountain Folk. And Tennesseans do not all walk around like country musicians!
You do get Southerny accents more north in Florida. My girlfriend is from Sumter County (total hick territory, even though she resents country folks) and she has a slight accent even though it's close to Orlando. Part of that might be due to the fact that she has family from Georgia but it's definitely there. Bunch of y'alls and shit. You won't get it towards the main cities, though.
I'm like you, Loverboy, born and raised in NY but moved to Florida in 2011.
As far as a more multimedia aspect of promos, I'm definitely interested in putting those aspects into my rps but we'll see. But I don't have to worry about covering up an accent, so I guess I'm lucky there lol.
