UPDATED FOR AUGUST 2024

Biggest rankings rise:
A relatively slow month in terms of climbing:
  • +1 - Jason Cashe: Breaking into the top 5, Jason Cashe's rise has been a sight to behold. When he eventually loses the TV championship, surely something bigger is on offer for him.
  • +1 - Dionysus: Great to see Dionysus shifting up. For most of the year, he has sat at number 10 and really represented the boundary between the elite of the fed and those who threaten to break into the upper card. Is this a sign he's moving even higher?
  • +1 - Micheal Graves: A workhorse like few others, Gravy's work on Anarchy sees him inch up the rankings.

Highest debut/return:
  • Madison Dyson: Returning to the rankings with the Anarchy Championship already claimed, the sky is the limit for the former March Madness winner.

Eyes on:
  • Ned Kaye and Sebastian Everett-Bryce: The top of the list remains the same this month, largely due to numbers 1 and 2 spending the month teaming with each other, so lessening the competition. That being said, the main event of Night 3 of Relentless won't feature Mark Flynn, but will feature the numbers 2 and 3. Will Ned or SEB get enough points to finally knock Flynn off the podium?
  • Everyone on the Relentless card. Three nights = three main event bonuses up for grabs AND three nights' worth of PPV bonuses too. It's a big chance for anyone to stake a claim, and with a few names about to drop off the list, and a few others only 1 or 2 matches shy of being eligible for inclusion, September could see a very big shake-up.

UPDATED FOR SEPTEMBER 2024

Firstly, thank you to my dear colleague Peter Principle for helping to archive the previous years, now that they are all live for all to see.

Secondly, I've collated records across the years and will launch these in the coming days. Some are even referenced below.

Thirdly, go sign up for War Games if you haven't already! Historically, it is a MASSIVE points mover, and winning the whole shebang is part of why our current Number 1 has been able to consolidate his position on top!

Fourthly, this is too much counting. Let's just get into September 2024's highlights!

Achievement unlocked:
Misty Waters: Under both the guise of Dolly Waters and now Misty, the former child prodigy ticked up 100 recorded matches in the ELO system this month, becoming just the 14th member of what I have dubbed 'The 100 Club'. Thank you for your ongoing contribution to the XWF!

Biggest rankings rise:
+3 - Misty Waters: A PPV month sees a fair bit of movement but with a few new or returning additions to the list, most people experience a slight drop down. But not all. If you keep defending the X-Treme Title, including twice at a PPV, this is only ever going to look good for you! Rising 3 places and into the top 10, Misty Waters gets a second nod in this month's highlights.

Highest debut/return:
Thaddeus Duke: Perhaps a surprise, given his focus on 'behind the scenes', but the young Duke is a beneficiary of the technicalities of ELO eligibility - having made sporadic appearances, but with enough regularity (and success!) to return high up on the list. Congratulations, Thaddeus! You're like XWF's Brock Lesnar, only twinky!

Eyes on:
Mark Flynn: This almost seems stupid to say, given he's sitting at number 1 and this will almost always be the first name that stands out to onlookers, but seriously... what about that Mark Flynn guy? September brings up TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS of sitting atop the rankings! Bravo, Mr. Flynn! I salute thee!

UPDATED FOR October 2024

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!!!:
  • Congratulations are in order to our dear Universal Champion, Mr. Sebastian Everett-Bryce. The Universal Champion walking into War Games as a captain is a courageous move, and then winning the captain's match just puts another medal around the man's neck about the year he is having! To top it off, that very win sees SEB cross the 2000 ratings point mark -  just the 12th to do so out of the 1700 names who have had their performances registered in this ELO system. WELCOME TO THE 2000 CLUB!

Biggest rankings rise:
  • +5 - Summer Page: The Anarchy picture has become quite interesting as of late, and the arrival of Summer Page has been one of the biggest catalysts for this intrepid fan's excitement. After returning to the rankings last month for the first time since Madness ended, Ms. Page climbs a massive five spots after an impressive month.

Highest debut/return:
  • Marisol Vilaro: Continuing the Anarchy trend, of all the new names appearing in this month's list, it's the return of Marisol Vilaro - previously seen on Madness - that tops them all at number 18. My wife has been trying to get me on the Vilaro System for years now, and if Marisol can continue to stand out on Anarchy - I might have no choice but to sign up!

Eyes on:
  • Micheal Graves: New number one! Err... kind of. "Micheal Graves" is now officially listed as number one on the XWF ELO System, but I'm not getting fooled here. This is still the same number one as has been now atop the list for 25 consecutive months. One more month and "Micheal" will tie XWF Legend Robert Main for the most months at number one (discontinuous)!
  • Johnny Bacchus: If you had asked me before I put the numbers into my magic calculator, I would have bet money on Johnny Bacchus getting the "Biggest ranking rise" nod. It wasn't to be, but credit where it is due - Johnny is the X-Treme champion which means EVERY match until he loses that title gets a title match multiplier applied. The mathematical potential is there for Johnny to start skyrocketing upwards, and his talent certainly will help matters.
  • Everyone on the War Games card. In 2023, Mark Flynn was the sole survivor at War Games. He gained about 90 rating points that night, cementing the gap in ELO rankings between himself and the nearest rivals that he has held to this day. In 2022, the North Korean War Criminal survived and gained an astonishing 108 rating points in one night. In 2021, Corey Smith and Alias went the distance together. They each earned just shy of 100 rating points. Do you get the picture? Big points are on offer this month! But it's not just the end winners who can benefit. The system has a 'kink' in it for War Games... Your team wins a match that you started in, even if you got eliminated? You get big points. Often 40, 50, 60 point swings - if you can work as a team. Who has what takes? We'll find out at War Games! See you next month once the War is over!
