I think you're looking for the two word phrase "a part". Apart means separated by a distance; at a specified distance from each other in time or space. Seeing the character, I highly doubt she's apart of (that makes no sense in and of itself) Twerk Team USA. A part makes more sense. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
