This might sound like a crazy question but I'd appreciate knowing how my recent RP had the music along with two of the images broken that I just had to fix? There were distinct changes made that had to be done by hand by someone and can't possibly be a site glitch as I checked my RP after posting it to make sure all was in working order.

The only edit I see in the View Edit's log which is something management can see was an edit to change your song from autoplay to one that has to be clicked. The fed has a rule that if you are going to have an autoplay song in your roleplay it has to be at the very top of that roleplay. Anywhere else and it must be a clickable video. I will link the rule below.

The rule's for posting videos in roleplays.

I see no changes to any of the images in your roleplay so it could either be an XWF site glitch or a glitch with the site that hosted the images.

If it was just video and pics, not the content of it(unless it was just typos and stuff) I don't see a problem with it. So long as it was something within the hour or so where you said to yourself "OH SHIT! This went wrong!" the best thing to do is ask a GM about it. Give them the details and be honest, because they can see EVERYTHING that is done.

If they can see everything they can see who edited it and see that I had to replace two of my pictures entirely when I edited it back, correct? I had to change the URLs of the two broken pics and space their coding back out just to get them to show back up a few minutes ago. :/

Re: the video on autoplay, it was placed where it was because it gets talked about in the RP opening but if it has to be at the top, it could just be moved to the top. Why break the video and two images instead of just moving it is what I don't get? lol Wouldn't it have taken less time and effort to just cut the video from where it was and paste it at the top and leave everything as is? What's worse is I have no idea how long it was like that because I only caught it by chance myself. I'd appreciate knowing who edited it without notifying me.

Changing it from autoplay to a click video is a fair reaction from whoever the GM in question is. They may have thought it needed to be where it originally was and didn't want to move it.

I could maybe see that if it didn't also involve messing up the images in the rp. And neglecting to notify me of a change, or that a rule was broken. Say I never looked back at that RP. How would I have known there was an issue? Then in my next RP you or whoever it was comes behind me and edits again without notice? lol See how that's worrisome?

Well, I don't see it as a big deal because the edit history doesn't mention anyone editing the images so that was probably a glitch. Changing something from autoplay to a normal click if it is not in the correct position is just a GM's job.

As I said in my original post, I do not see any changes to your images but those that you made yourself. It's very possible Shane can see more on his end than what we can see but from my vantage point the images were not touched by anyone other than you, presumably to correct the broken links.

When I viewed your rp about 30 minutes after it was posted the images were all showing up for me.

Now, I changed the video from autoplay to a clickable video, as I have done many times for many others who didn't follow the rule. Ask Rayne, I've had to change his I don't even know how many times. Generally it's not a big deal, especially if one is unaware that such a rule exists which I assume was the case here. I have never moved a video from where it was placed in the roleplay and never will, for all I know the video is placed where it is for a specific reason.

You are technically correct, it would just be easier to cut and paste rather than change the code but that's just not how I operate.

If you are wondering why I didn't notify you ahead of time and allow you to change the video code yourself it really boils down to the fact that it is just easier for me, or any of management to make the change then it is to wait for you to get the PM and the make the change. Especially since we end up getting PM's saying "Why can so and so post an autoplay in the middle of their rp and I can't?", something that has happened very recently in fact.

I am sorry if you don't like the way in which your post was edited without your permission but anything on the boards is subject to be edited/removed at management's discretion so that said post is in compliance with fed rules. Which is why the edit to the video code was made. I understand the concerns you have outlined in your posts however in the time I have been here the only edits I have ever seen to roleplays by members of management were to autoplays to get that specific video in compliance with the rules. I have never seen any other edits to a roleplay, whether it be images, content, titles, coding etc.

Thanks for clearing that up; yes I had to mess around with two of the images and preview them a bunch of times in order to get them working right again. I'm assuming your edit of the video broke them mistakenly then since I am very particular about checking and double checking an RP right after I initially post it to make sure it's exactly how I want it. As I said though a big part of my concern is why I wasn't notified, period. As in after the fact. At what point did you plan to inform me of the issue so it didn't repeat? Could it be that you have to keep changing Rayne's because you also didn't PM him? lol It would probably help us all out if management informed us of a mistake or rule instead of just coming behind us with the scrub brushes. See where I'm coming from with this?

I don't see how editing the video code somehow screwed up the image codes, especially since as I have said already, I have edited many video codes before and never once has it caused any issues with images. Now if you want to continue to assume that I somehow screwed up the image codes as well, well then I can't stop you.

As for Rayne, he has been PM'd about it repeatedly, by me, by Shane, by other members of management.

I am not required to notify you of a change that I make when it is done simply to bring something into compliance. Having said that, you are absolutely right that notifying you after the fact would have been helpful and in the future that is something I will do.

That being said it really isn't management's job to make sure people know the rules, they are posted on various parts of the site, we just assume, maybe incorrectly that people have read the rules and will thus abide by them. It's really no different than how it is not a Police Officer's job to make sure people know the law but rather it is their job to make sure people comply with the laws. Again, in your case I assume you didn't know it was a rule to have autoplays at the top of the video which I why I didn't make a big deal of the rule being "broken", instead just made a change to bring the video into compliance and moved on.

I was able to verify by comparing the version of your roleplay prior to my edit and the version of your roleplay after my edit that the image links were not touched and that after my edit the links for all of the images did still work. The only difference was that the video was no longer an autoplay.

There have been times I edited or moved/deleted something and then had to go right away because I had a potato in the oven ready to burst, or a pizza on fire, so then later that night I'd eventually remember to send the person a quick note or something. I doubt the intent was malicious.

As for the images, there are rare instances where an edit of a post can throw the spacing of some things off elsewhere in the post and if that happens inside an html tag it can break it. Another error that happens is if you use the "quick edit" more than once in the same viewing of that page, it won't remember all your edits and can mess things up. Only use quick edit for a 1 and done QUICK edit. Use full edit for the rest.

I appreciate the time taken to look at that but my eyes verified for me that I had to mess around with them and even replace the URLs before they'd work again. Maybe it's just one of those mysteries we'll never know.

I wasn't saying that your claims that you had to make changes to fix your images was a false one. I'm sorry if you took it that way, wasn't my intent at all. Rather I was simply verifying that their being broken was not the result of the one edit I made to the video code.

And the only reason I even went the length I did to verify it was because even after I said that my edits did not cause the broken images issue you still felt the need to say:
