I'm thinking of adding a section strictly for posting ONE post for your wrestler (per wrestler) and keeping it updated with current things others should know about. Does your character have multiple personalities? If somebody hasn't been following your stories, your details post should tell them EVERYTHING they need to know. Are you currently pretending like a NEW person is playing your old character? You can make sure those details are known as well as how others are supposed to react IC. Have you recently gone through a sex change, some kind of other alteration, or maybe even DIED?! If you're still "here" and want to keep us all up to date in case we missed something, you'd be able to keep it all updated in your details thread.
We would REQUIRE you to check in on your thread EVERY TWO WEEKS with another update either confirming that all of the details within still apply OR with new changes to reflect most recent happenings. People who let their thread sit there more than 2 weeks without an update of some kind will have it deleted.
I want to bring this idea to life but I absolutely will not tolerate out-dated threads that turn into a section of confusion where people have to ask "is this stuff still how your character acts today?"
Thoughts? Pros? Cons? Do you guys think we should do this or not waste our time? I'm looking to hear from you guys on a lot of issues coming into the new year and I want to spice things up a little bit as we all talk and bring a few new things into motion.
More possible ideas will be run past you all in the coming days/weeks as well.

I like the idea personally, seems like it would take a lot of work from all of us to remember to keep it updated haha but I think it helps in the long run.
Like say: Wrestler A joins forces with Wrestler B in a alliance / new tag team
And there really hasn't been any talk of it on Madness or Warfare...It would help the writers add in the little things to let this get noticed like have B come out with A in a manager type role...so forth.
To find John, turn those lights out because he will then appear...

That's more of a strategy or segment. People need to submit a form and dictate to us if they specifically want somebody else accompanying them to ringside or vice versa. Otherwise it's up to the random whim of the match writer, and we have TONS of people who write matches. A match writer can't be expected to include secondary characters/managers if there was no form submitted for it that week.
The section I'm thinking of opening would be more for RPers to reference so they know what else is going on around them even if they don't have time to read everybody's RPs. It would be so you know who you're facing or who you're teaming up with, beyond simply a name or what brief info they made obvious in their profile.

Ohhhh oh, okay I gotcha now. Yeah I am all for it. I know for me it would help keep me up to date on what's happening.

I think this is a great idea, especially for new people to get a grasp of what's current and what's going on with each character.
I don't want to change the topic too much, but could this maybe be expanded into a show's results? I think (and this is just me personally) to see a bigger picture of some of the ongoing storylines that are taking place each week. I'm OCD like that, haha.

The idea of expanding it into results sounds good but when you consider how much time and effort already goes into the shows, and they still often times see delays going up, there's really no way to justify adding more work to the person putting the show together.
I think as long as people keep their thread updated, this would all work out perfectly. A stable could also have their own thread if they are involved in something specific that people should know about (separately from the details already provided in the stable roster area) and maybe even Warfare and Madness could have their own thread with recent show storylines mentioned.
i dont like it. like shane said it would take away from posting results and other things..

Okay, I think I get a little more what you're saying. I wasn't so much as suggesting adding more work to a show's results, but yes, maybe a few days after a show airs there could be a thread (or stickey) in this new section that you're talking about where it gives a macro view of the storylines. Example: "Warfare closed out with a huge battle between The Black circle and The Congregation. The fallout now pits Mystica against John Madison in a No DQ match ..." Something short and sweet so people could see a broader perspective of some of the ongoing storylines.
Yeah we used to have a recap of the recent week's shows on our front page. Definitely a good idea. That's another thing I was thinking about doing again so the main xwf99.com page actually has changing news from week to week instead of basically staying the same. The old front page also used to have a few other fun things on it which I might bring back like a random "did you know?" fact section with XWF info and history and a flashback section that would change from week to week with a link to a random past XWF show.

So if I have 1 of these threads I would need to return to it every 2 weeks to remind you all that my cock is large or else it gets cut off basically? Fuuuuuuuck.....

yeah I'm all down for this idea as well and Michael has a good suggestion, it would really benefit us to have a sort of template for it just like the one on the roster page.

I love this idea, because I'm trying to transition into a Hollywood heel, while still being a straight edge heel. So this will give people some idea as to what's going on with my character even if I lack the ability to make it abundantly clear to everyone.
But 2 week updates seems a little harsh.
I'd also like to suggest a wrestler history page.
Sort like a brief synopsis of each wrestler's history in the XWF.
And it would be the individuals job to update their own history page.
With maybe a security check by management every now and then.
Hunter, that's a pretty good idea, I like it. As a matter of fact, I think that'll will erase a lot of problems for new people like me. I don't know much about a lot of people here, yet, so it makes it hard for me to properly trash talk them. Picking on Gilmour's too easy, so I kind of ignore that much.
This sounds really fun and I can't wait to get started on it if it happens. Are we all suppose to make our own threads or will there be a thread for it?
EDIT: Maybe even backstage pages?

Since coming here I've always used my backstage page to keep track of my records. I think whatever people use their pages for could be different, and they probably might not have room/it may not make sense to put in a character's history or storyline.
If there is a section, I think then it would be in one place so everyone could just easily look at their opponent or whatever without having to nose around.

I like the idea. Sometimes you're so involved with what's going on with your character and story... you overlook and forget what's happening with some others... especially if you take a few weeks off from a match or get busy with stuff.
For results, it would be cool if after the results were posted... "Quick Tidbits" were posted as a recap of what went down (quick results, with some details regarding angles.. not matches).

Yeah the backstage pages are something else entirely. Not everyone even realizes that's there. Backstage pages are always there for whatever you want to use them for.
For this idea we'd have a section where each user would create a thread for their own character. One thread per character. You'd just return to that thread at least once every 2 weeks to maintain its accuracy. My #1 concern here is that I don't want to end up with a section filled with outdated material so we'd NEED to be strict on how often these get updated. It would need to become a regular part of your routine IF you are somebody who chose to use this section. Nobody would be forced to create a thread if they don't feel like it, but it will be highly encouraged and will most likely be welcomed by the top names/vets who like to really establish their character and name to everyone who reads their work AND to those who have not yet read their work.
