Just like I'm not a fan of putting up the "star of the month" threads a few days before the month actually ends, I'm also not a fan of officially starting a yearly awards poll until, well, the year actually had time to finish. This is December 15th and there are only 12 months in a year. We officially have 1/24th of the year to still watch and take into account before real selections and votes are made.

Hear that, everyone? You still have 1/24th of the year left! Make some noise! Get YOUR name on our minds before these polls and votes become official!

The yearly awards categories and nominees will go up New Years day and official voting will begin that day.

-Michael James (proven ability to be able to go toe-to-toe with anybody in the company and nearly always emerge victorious, and in convincing fashion. Some of the best segments and matches when it comes to creativity and brutality)

-Angelus (right off the bat came in with top notch talent and great stories that pull you in and keep you wanting more. This old school feel about him and his scenes/stories is something he pulls off in a way others can't quite do)

Please note the "keep in mind that any individual who left XWF either on negative or questionable (vanished on us) terms will not be considered for any awards." rule listed above, too. This will apply this year as well. What this means is, even if we REALLY liked a guy and he did everything right while he was here, he is not eligible to be mentioned if I/we do not know why he left. There are a few big players this applies to, and they will not be nominated. Randomly vanishing from the fed with no notice actually breaks the rules you agreed to upon sign up and makes me think you don't care about anything you accomplished.

If you're curious if a name you are thinking of fits this list, please feel free to ask right here in the open and I'll gladly reply to let you know that name's status.

If you somehow have every QOTM of 2013 saved somewhere, I think it would be cool to pick a "Quote of the Year."

I think for Superstar of the Year it should go off of the SOTM list. It's actually a solid list of names there.

Unfortunately the QOTM is not rotated in a way that allows me to look back at past entries. It's actually one of the few things I cannot backtrack on.

We still could think back and look back at the year though and suggest some great comments for a QOTY. A QOTY doesn't necessarily have to come from a past QOTM.

I don't think we have had superstar of the year before, but I'd say the best way to look at it would be to use the stars of the month as a reference point but incredible performances, massive wins at big events, title wins and anything else that makes you go "holy shit" about a person (in a GOOD way) should be taken into account even if those people weren't named star of the month. In other words, a little bit of EVERY other category should kind of apply here, because after all, we're talking about naming ONE person the star of the entire year out of a massive roster of talented individuals.

People who created such memorable moments that you instantly think of them without even back tracking are more likely to be SOTY. A SOTY should have that "larger than life" feel I think, and should have been on top of their game for much longer than just one month. You should be able to take something they did at one part of the year, and show how it's just as amazing as something that person did at a completely different stage of the year, and so on... Put on those thinking caps, everyone! It's not too early to start thinking about these things and narrowing down names in your minds while the last couple weeks of the year finish up.
