SVR 2006 was the best based on a number of certain things you could do that slowly got lost after that year. 2007 was awesome too, and perhaps the last GOOD game of the entire series.

I think 2008 is when those blithering idiots decided to NOT include a fucking targeting button... Yes, that meant in a multi-man match there was NO WAY to manually tell your character who to look at or when to switch to looking at somebody else. Surely they would have fixed that the next year...

NOPE! Still no targeting button in 2009! HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! WTF?

I think 2006 is probably the best wrestling game I've ever played in my life. Tight controls that actually respond... targeting that WORKS even in the middle of delivering a move so you can pre-target the next guy you want to hit (in later years you'd have to wait until after you deliver a move to target a different guy)
