Ok so I'm curious of the following!
Who here is very familiar with WWF's "attitude era" and a big fan of at least one wrestler from that time?
Who here is very familiar with WCW's nWo era and a big fan of at least one wrestler from that time?
Who here is a fan of NJPW (and/or other Japanese promotions) and has at least one wrestler in any of those promotions they'd consider themselves a pretty big fan of, current day?
Who here follows US and/or UK indie wrestling?
Who here actually doesn't follow wrestling?
Just reply and give me the details that apply to you, and you might be a good fit for a little idea I'm thinking about throwing together soon!
Pre-Attitude, I grew up tearing my t-shirts like Hogan and posing like Shawn Michaels. When I started to go into music(which I only did for a year) I had something like a tuba, and would play The Undertaker's theme song with it when I practiced. Then as it began to become the Attitude Era, I remember Bret having a bloodied Austin in the Sharpshooter and Austin going into unconsciousness. I remember when Degeneration X formed. I remember when Shawn and Trips had helmets with faceguards and wipers on them when talking to Sgt. Slaughter. I remember when D-X 'invaded' WCW.
I cried like a fucking bitch when Hogan turned heel. Like, full on crying like I was two months old again. I remember when Sting went from colorful facepaint like Ultimate Warrior, to the Crow Sting we all know now. I remember when the nWo branched off into the Wolfpac. I remember Goldberg's streak. I remember the Bret v Benoit match to honor Owen Hart.
Unfortunately I don't follow NJPW except for knowing the big names.
I do watch Lucha Underground and my favorite is and will always be Johnny Mundo. That man is absolutely great.
