Since you're swapping out the website and all, I wondered if there was an open discourse for site suggestions, etc.?

I had certain thoughts - for instance, when posting a thread can the default be to NOT receive email notifications? Seems like a waste, mostly.

Also, what about possibly streamlining the roster? Seems like a lot of inactive deadweight on there. Not saying job them out or kill them, but maybe set them aside in an inactive section or something?

Just wondering...

In your account settings you are able to choose your default subscription options. Change it to what you'd like. If you're automatically receiving thread replies all the time, I'm guessing you accidentally switched the option at some point in the past. I don't think (I could be wrong though) that the default is to receive emails on every thread... Let me know if you need assistance with it.

The roster is due for a cleanup, yes. The new site won't have as many dead names on it, but may retain a select few for jobbing or other purposes. There are also some rules and information sections that are going to be brought up to date on the new site.

I don't remember messing with the settings initially but I suppose it's possible. I'll go and swap that now, then.

Do you have any surprises for us on the new site? Anything that you might want to poll us on as far as what the roster might be clamoring for at the mighty feet of the Anonistrator?

The new site has a handful of new and fun features. There's a little built in chat room, word counters, a word of the day bonus feature, an arcade room that actually works, and a few other nifty things. There will be a rundown of all the features and how to use them once the switch is made.

After we switch, I might start taking polls and requests on possible additional features that I'll be able to add over time.

This was not a case of me building a new site from scratch. More just a case of relentless testing of various combinations of features and seeing what still works when I added other new additions. The new server uses a more recent version of PHP also, which meant some variables had to be updated in some of the coding.

The forum itself is the site. When we switch over to the new server, you'll basically see the same layout we had about 2 or 3 weeks ago before the site crashed, except it will be on steroids compared to before.

Yes. I wouldn't want to risk doing the actual server switch during a PPV week because there's a chance it can interfere with a full day and then we'd need to push back deadlines.
