Excuse me if I don’t seem to exude an effervescent joy that some do when facing a talent of Luca Arzegotti’s perceived caliber. Key word: perceived. Excuse me if I’m not as happy to face Luca Arzegotti as my father seemed to be when he saw my opponent for this week. Once upon a time, Luca Arzegotti was a main attraction in the Xtreme Wrestling Federation. The man once used humor and a cutting edge to shred his opponents to pieces in his promos.
How the mighty have fallen.
I find it very difficult to see where Luca Arzegotti was anything more than a coattail riding B player. He was always at his best playing second fiddle to the big stars. In days gone by, he was nothing more than a curtain jerking bag carrier for my father and John Madison in The Black Circle.
These days still, he’s barely made it past curtain jerking status.
I find it disappointing and comparably underwhelming to know that he’s had nearly two weeks to address me, yet he’s done anything but. It is disrespectful to ignore your opponent. He laughs at the mention of my father yet my father was always the bigger star. In fact many people laugh at my father. I don’t know if its intended to just get under my skin or what exactly the motive is, but I assure you, I laugh at him more than any of you.
You can laugh and scoff at my father but one can not argue his resume. He pretty much won everything there was to win. He had a memorable career. One marked with victory after victory when so many doubted his ability.
Laugh if you will, but it’s not possible to overlook his accomplishments in the wrestling business. It’s not possible to overlook his hall of fame caliber status.
Luca Arzegotti laughs. Yet not only has he never accomplished what my father did, he also never got around to facing him. Not only did he not get around to facing my father, but he’s also barely even intent on facing my fathers son.
However it undoubtedly will happen. Luca Arzegotti will face Thaddeus Duke and he laughs. He laughs yet the wily veteran is about to get taken to school by the rookie.
Laughter is his mask for fear and a lack of confidence. He fears anyone with the name Duke. He fears facing anyone with equal or greater talent and that is why for the last four years when Luca Arzegotti was not carrying my fathers bags, he spent his career avoiding my father. You can avoid my father forever now, Arzegotti. He’s done now. He won’t be coming back. You can stop hiding behind your mask of uncertainty. You can stop hiding behind your veil of discomfort and uneasiness at the mere thought of having the name Duke across from yours on an XWF card.
It’s obvious, at least to me, that he does not have the confidence that he can defeat a Duke. One must remember, it is not an embarrassment to lose to a Duke. Many have. It’d be more embarrassing to, I don’t know, lose to Scully. Right Vincent Lane?
Here I am, a lowly rookie in the XWF, looking to climb my way to the top. Just like my father and uncle before me. I’m already one and oh. Ghost Tank and Jake Davis was the best that Vincent Lane could come up with for my first match. For my second, he conjures up what, on paper, would be a difficult challenge for a young upstart.
Maybe a few years ago it would have been a tougher challenge. Impossible really, since a few years ago I was not even born yet.
Confused?
I’d tell you how that happened but I’m not into doing research for my opponents. My history has played out in front of the XWF audience for as long as I have existed. It’s all there in black and white. The answers you seek are still available today. Go find them yourself.
It is painfully obvious that Luca Arzegotti is either completely overrated by the fans and historians of the XWF and professional wrestling in general, or he no longer has what it takes to rise to the occasion and defeat a rookie. I expected much harsher content toward me in his latest, and to this point, only promo. What I got was a man overlooking me and my abilities. He’d rather laugh at my father than address me like any man or opponent would.
Luca Arzegotti, I am not Sebastian Duke. Laugh at him all you want, but at this stage of the game he’s completely irrelevant. You’re ignoring the real threat here and I suppose that’s easy to do. Thad’s a rookie right?
Perhaps so, but I’m trained by two of the best in the world.
I will defeat you Luca Arzegotti. I will defeat you and you will kiss my ass. I’m as good in that ring as anybody and I will show you that on Warfare. I’m as good as anyone you’ve ever face, Arzegotti. I am going to defeat you and you absolutely will kiss my ass.
Never miss a beat?
I don't know if it's the beat or what it is, But you're definitely missing something.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you, bitch.
