Thinking its time to freshen up Cain's character. Thinking of moving over to Madness with a non-supernatural
So here's where y'all come in. I want some serious suggestions because honestly the murder thing is running thin for me. That's probably what my issue is. Lol

What you need to do, is find something you're passionate about. Make it the basis of your character. Duke for example, is inspired almost entirely from reading Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. I loved that book enough that it inspired just about every aspect of Sebastian Duke.

I agree on the murder running thin thing. Did it, got old quick.

One key to creating a character and a lasting legacy with that character, is a slow evolution. Allow him (or her) to evolve at a slow pace. There is no reason you would have to divulge every aspect of a said character within a week or a month or even a year. In my own case, I'm continuing to evolve Duke every time I roleplay. For instance, when I first started with Duke he was very cold and docile, stoic even. As time goes on he's revealed that he is a human being and he does have human emotion like love and pain. Even smatterings of a sense of humor, if not a dry one. Reveal bits and pieces of the very fabric of that characters being here and there.

Like Roddy Piper says: Just when you think you got all the answers, I change the question.

Exactly what Paul said. Murder is all well and good, but usually there should be more of a reason for it, than simply "because" y'know?

If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing.

A 'gimmick' is just that - a gimmick. You can't write in order to fulfill a gimmick because you will always run out of material. You create a character. Give him depth, history, and most importantly, room to grow.

THEN you ADD a gimmick. The gimmick should enhance the character, but not be needed to tell the story.

As Duke said, a slow evolution. When I started Pest he was very different from he is now. He went through a hardened child raping killer phase, then I recently started showing the ghosts of his past haunting him. Culminating in him trying to push his legacy of brutality on. Because according to his biography, which may be faked, brutality is what he learned. I've slowly changed him from hardened monster to a pained old man. Who still likes teenage girls.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

When I first created Doc, I didn't have much of a plan for what he was going to be like. I knew the structure I wanted, I just didn't know the rest. After about a month, I started feeling a bit dry with him. I was thinking of slowly dropping him and bringing in someone else. I just didn't feel like I could go the distance with the Doc. After a while and a few more development stories, I'm still using him and enjoying it every step of the way.

Cain, reconsider limiting yourself so much to either Madness or Warfare. Even though the Doc is, in a sense, a pretty unbelievable character, I make him work in both Warfare and Madness settings. Don't limit your character so much and let him develope in many different ways.

Also to build off of what Heyman said I also think you would benefit from some patience.

Since you've been here you've attempted to change your gimmick half a dozen times, and pic base, I don't even know how many times. Which to me tells me that A, you haven't found that one thing that you get really jacked about but also that you need to slow down and let things develop organically.

A great gimmick isn't something that happens overnight, it takes time.

Maybe take a few days off from the fed sit down and map out a new gimmick, not just a name and a tag line but history of the character, who is he? Where did he come from? How did he get here? Maybe figure out some other characters that you would use in rps, and some of their history. Give yourself something to elaborate on when you rp. I'd even suggest figuring out goals for that character.

And then once you've done that, give it some time.

Patience young grasshopper.

I agree with what's been said so far.

Cain, I know you struggle with your character at times, especially when you get more loses than wins, but you need to just hang in there and be patient with your character. Let him involve.

When I first came to the XWF, you were one of the first ones, I wanted to stay the hell away from, I wouldn't go ask for a match with the senior members here either, but I feared you at first. You did some great writing back then, but suddenly you want to change your character so many times as Ozy said, and that's a hindrance I find. Now you don't know what to do with the character.

With me, I know I tend to lose more than I win, but I hang in there. I enjoy battling against every one else.

I'm being patient with my Mastermind character, and it's paying dividends. I know people are wanting to see why he is a rich person, growing up from humble beginnings, losing his mother at an early age, and then going down the wrong road for a while before finding himself again.

I know there's more back ground to him, and I know the story is coming about how he became so rich. I'm waiting for that angle to pop in my head and run with it. Like everyone else has said, be patient, and work as much as you can with your character.

Not everyone can win all the time, and there are times that we all tend to go on streaks.

At the end of the day be patient, and let it happen.

If you keep changing your character then it's hard to develop him further.

Yeah I guess you're right. But I just can't think of what to elaborate on.
