I got something.

You don’t suck…actually I like what you have offered to the XWF. I believe that you need to concentrate on honing your skills. Know that Tony Santos is not an easy win by any stretch.

If you want to face someone that will work with you as more of a Roleplay trainer then I suggest Swagmire or Frodo. He is good but you can also work on ideas with him. I think a match with him and perhaps a few RTX shows will bring you to light. If you want me to give you roleplay feedback them PM me what you want me to look and…know this…I will give you HONEST and maybe HARSH feedback so don’t be offended if I get harsh. But everyone I give my ultra feedback to says it was helpful.

Yeah, yeah I've heard it already with the "complaining" bit.

First I never once publicly complained about losing. Looks like gossip travels around here.

This is in the OOC board and I asked for feedback because IMO I was a clear winner and then I lost. So obviously either my judgement is really off or "I suck." Sounds like I asked for what this part of the forum is designed for, no?

I never once said Santos wasn't a good writer.

I believe myself to be a good writer.

Other people apparently believe that as well.

Am I wrong to feel a little irked that I did work over the course of the week, steadily, and three more promos (incoming QUALITY > QUANTITY smh) and lost? Not taking anything away from Santos of course. However, I do feel I put forth more effort/dedication than Tony and the same level of quality for my style. So if I lost then apparently I didn't over the course of my 7 RPs do well enough to be decided the winner, hence why I asked for feedback. If you don't like me or have something personal to say to me then please PM me. Otherwise you're derailing my thread sir.

I do this for fun. I do have fun writing. It is still a tad bit of competition. I guess if I'm a whiny asshole for feeling like it should've went the other way then start calling me "Top Shelf Asshole" Jon Plex because I won't change my views. No matter how many feathers it ruffles Wink

If you've heard it already about complaining than it's not gossip that brought that to your doorstep but your own words.

You never explicitly said that Santos sucks but your initial post did. And by the way it wasn't Griffin who derailed your thread, it was you when you worded your initial post the way you did.

Yes this is a feedback board where people can ask for feedback, there are hundreds of examples of the proper way to do that, just scroll down the board and read some of them. When people ask for feedback the right way, they provide a link to a specific, or multiple pieces, they don't just make a statement such as yours.

But when you start a thread off and sound like a butthurt child than people are going to react and they are going to react negatively. This fed is as much a community as it is a fantasy wrestling site, when a new guy takes a shot at an establish vet others, such as Griff will come to his defense. While what Griff said may have been a bit harsh it was true.

You could have said a few other things, you seem like a bright guy so I won't waste my time going into detail about that but your response to Griffin feels like you are being purposefully obtuse.

Now to answer your specific questions, no one can tell you if you are right or wrong to feel the way you do, that's on you, and you alone. I can tell you that getting worked up over something that is meant to be a game is an issue and the most successful people in this place are not just excellent writers but people who don't think the world is crumbling when they lose.

It seems to me that you measure effort and dedication by the number of rps you post, as I told you before it's not about that, it never will be. I've seen guys post once and beat someone that's posted a handful of times. I've seen people post 4 rps and beat someone that posted 8.

Now, if you don't want to change your views that's fine, that's on you but I would suggest venting privately because a post like this does nothing but put you on everyone's radar and not in a good way. Which, is a shame given that your work is excellent and people do enjoy reading it.

Now, I am locking the thread before it gets any uglier, if you wish to continue this discussion you know how to contact me or any of the other GM's and they can give you reasons why you lost a specific match and or general pointers.
