October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - MrBig - 11-08-2021 Hey everyone! Here are the nominees for October Roleplay of the Month! Place your vote above and give us a little summary of why that was your choice below! Again, please only vote once... It's okay to have some honorable mentions, but try to stick with one solid vote. And if there are any roleplays out there that aren't listed that you'd like to nominate, please do! THANKS! Alias - "The Next Saga #1: The New" Marf - "You don't mean shit to me, let it bleed!" Jim Caedus - "This Just In" Bobby Bourbon - "4 U" Mark Flynn - "Calling Dibs, Cannabalism, and Edited Footage" Thunder Knuckles - "Til" Thebe Nwadyke - "I" October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - Peter Vaughn - 11-08-2021 Basically, I really liked Alias' work. While there are some other very strong rp's on this list, I went with the one that caught my attention the most. October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - Dolly Waters - 11-08-2021 Went with “This Just In” by Jim Caedus. Anytime you get to invite the unique to this place, like the audio-only show did, you get the potential for something really special. That’s what Jim delivered here. Hilarious. A home run. Gets my vote. October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - ALIAS - 11-08-2021 Caedus. That audio rp set the bar for the entire Shove It, and was only really matched by the show itself. October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - Thunder Knuckles™ - 11-08-2021 Jim's radio RP hands down. October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - Atara Raven - 11-09-2021 Really want to vote Alias because writing... But voted Jim because aside from a entertaining Orson Welles-ish radio show, he really took roleplaying to a new level. October '21 RP OF THE MONTH - Mark Flynn - 11-09-2021 Voted for Jim because goddamn, what a perfect reason that the audio show experiment was worth trying. Just a solid, perfectly metered comedy sketch. Like a track off a Bob Newhart album, where the scene hits your funny bone and you go "Okay, that was the big punchline." Then the whole scene unfurls a completely new leaf and finds a whole new ridiculous height to climb. There's a reason a lot of sketch comedy albums don't have 15 minute tracks and it's because a 15 minute audio comedy sketch is virtually impossible to pull off without falling into a lull or dragging or feeling too long. So Jim pulling it off fills me with the most profound jealousy as a professional comedian. <3 I can't tell you how hard I laughed at "Sea mammal micropenis. Very rare and very hilarious." and "Hand me that! ...*chainsaw sounds*" |
