(can't get crowd reactions; awkward; probably going to be fired soon)

OOC: Quick note before going into this RP; there are several uses wrestler names, championship names, and one of a wrestling promotion name not used before in the XWF. I want to clarify now that any and all of these occurrences have been thought up by myself, and is in no way plagiarism or using someone else's characters/e-feds without permission. I thought I'd clarify this before something had the chance to arise.

Five Years Ago

A bell tolls, and a man holding a microphone walks up the steps and through the ropes, taking his place in the centre of an unkempt ring in front of about 50-odd bustling fans. He raises his microphone up to his mouth and speaks, his voice echoing around the small hall-room.

This next contest is set for one-fall, with standard rules in effect.

As the music hits, a somewhat well-built wrestler exits the curtain slowly, stretching and flexing his arms as he walks. He takes his place on the stage and lifts his fists in the air, with a single shot of pyro going off next to him. After it has finished, he begins walking down the ramp as the announcer introduces him properly.

Introducing first! Hailing from London, weighing two-hundred-and-twenty-three pounds... The three-time, and current, DWA National Champion... T! J! Staaannneeeerrrrs!

TJ reaches the end of the short ramp and circles around the ring, to the quiet applause of the very few in attendance, well-renowned for his achievements in the DWA, that he had accomplished in such a small amount of time. He jumps onto the apron and steps in the ring, crossing the mat to the corner and standing on the middle rope. He unstraps his belt and slaps it onto his shoulder, proudly holding one of the only three prizes that the DWA has to offer - other than the World and the Tag titles.

As his music fades, he stands in the ring, glaring up the ramp, toward whoever will be his opponent.

A much smaller person, when comparing muscle at least, steps out of the curtain, looking fairly nervous. He just walks over the stage and down the ramp. He's in the ring before the announcer can even begin to introduce him.

And his opponent, and brother! From Gloucestershire, weighing one-hundred-and-ninety-eight pounds... The newest wrestler of Dynamite Wrestling Action, please welcome: Daniel! Rock!

Similarly, the music fades, and the two are ready to begin their match. The ref slides in the ring and almost immediately rings the bell.

The two brothers, one of which is clearly more experienced than the other, is unsure of how to begin this match, due to the apparent awkwardness of the situation. Regardless, they quickly get into a collar-and-elbow tie-up, where TJ immediately gets the advantage and knees Daniel in the stomach.

He whips him toward the rope and executes a scoop slam, a second or two later than he usually might have done in any other circumstance, further showing the somewhat uneasy atmosphere in this match.

With Daniel writhing in pain, TJ goes over to him. Whether he wants to console his brother or get him up to do more damage, we'll never know, as Daniel has sweeped TJ clean off his feet.

Daniel tries to stand but he's a little too slow getting up, giving the experienced Champion a chance to shoot up. But he's caught off guard even then, since Daniel has already kneed him in the stomach, and performs a snap-DDT. The audience scoff in respect to the rookie's antic.

Before TJ can recover, he is lifted and thrown into the corner. He stops himself from smashing into the turnbuckle, but that doesn't stop Daniel from hitting his spear attempt... if only it hits TJ on the back.

TJ goes down, so Daniel grabs the top rope and starts stomping at TJ's back, as if trying to chisel in a weakness. He is stopped by the ref, who's count had gotten to 4. He allows TJ to stand, but grabs his head and smashes it against the top turnbuckle. He throws him in the corner and climbs it a little. From there, he starts punching his brother in the face. The small crowd chants along with the punches;

1!

2!

3!

4!

5!

6!

7!

8!

9!!

Just before they can shout '10!', TJ had gotten his arm up to block the punch. In a single movement, he throws Daniel across the ring, making him reel in pain from the impact.

TJ turns and climbs the ropes himself. He punches one fist in the air and slaps that arm with his other hand, the crowd cheer after him. He jumps...

And nails his Big Elbow Drop!

Daniel seems like he's out, but TJ isn't done yet. He's sizing him up, he stamps the mat until his brother rises... he spins him around and...

He gets caught! Daniel has his hand over TJ's throat! Chokeslam! Daniel has hit his finisher! He goes for the cover...

1!

2!

Kickout...

Daniel grabs his hair in frustration. He jumps up and walks around the ring, thinking about what to do next.

Suddenly he turns around, and he is met by TJ! TJ quickly performs his own finisher; the TKO (RKO)! Lights out!

TJ goes down for the pin...

1!

2!

3!

dingdingding

TJ's theme booms over the hall once more, and the announcer comes into the ring again;

Here is your winner; TJ Staners!

TJ looks over at his brother, wanting to help him up, and get him backstage to recover, but he sees there is nothing he can do. Even that small and fairly effortless match has taken it's toll on the newcomer, and he's just lying there, looking up at the ceiling. TJ walks over.

You did good, Dan.

Panting, Daniel looks over at his brother.

You... You think so?

TJ nods.

I do.

Daniel smiles as best he can.

Thanks... Ed.

No problem.

Tapping Daniel on the shoulder, Ed stands. He is handed his title back from the ref, and without looking back, he exits the ring and makes his way up the ramp, as the small band of fans make there way to the bar to grab another drink before the next match.

Daniel looks between the ropes to watch his brother go.

Someday... I'm going to be better than you...

Just you wait and see.
