With this week’s edition of Monday Madness being in Boston, Theo thought it would be a good time to check in on Pryce Industries East Coast Headquarters located in downtown Manhattan. However before making it out there Theo has to make a pit stop for a quick meeting with a friend. Although Theo has let go of Erica as his Manager for the XWF she is accompanying him to New York as she has will spend some time meeting with the Regional Director in New York, Kevin Goode while Theo is out earning the number 1 contendership to the XWF Tag Team Titles.
“So where exactly are you meeting this guy?”
“An abandoned Warehouse down by the docks?”
“A bit cliché no?”
“Absolutely but he picked it and honestly I have no desire to disagree with him. You know what he is capable of.”
“That I do, which begs the question, why did you agree to this meeting anyway?”
“Why not?”
“Well like you just said, we know what he is capable of. That in and of itself should be enough of a reason. If the Board of Directors find out about this meeting you might have some serious problems.”
“Well that’s what I pay you for. To handle them when I don’t want to. Besides, how would they find out about this? We are literally meeting in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I couldn’t even get this place to come up on the GPS. If it weren’t for the Pryce Industry satellite by chance being located right above here I would probably still be looking for this place. Which reminds me, Jimmy, you know where you are going right?”
Jimmy Durance, who Theo brought along to drive he and Erica around nods his head in the affirmative and continues navigating his way to the agreed upon meeting place.
“So did he give you any idea what he wanted to meet about or are you going into this completely blind?”
“Honestly, I have no idea what he wants to talk about. He reached out to me through someone else. I haven’t even talked to him face to face yet, not about this anyway.”
“Seems a bit dangerous don’t you think?”
“Well like I said, he reached out to me via a third party, so it’s not like no one else knows we are meeting. Besides I’m not worried about it. Clearly the guy needs me for something. Could be money, could be resources, could be that he wants to take you out on a date. I really have no idea.”
“Well he is kind of cute.”
“Are we…like…having a moment? A brother sister bonding moment?”
“Shut up Theo. You have to ruin everything don’t you?”
“I can’t help it. It’s just who I am. But back to your new found crush, I’m not sure if he dates. I don’t think he is much of a people person to be perfectly honest with you. Plus, I’m not sure if you are his type.”
“What’s his type?”
“A little more…vanilla.”
“What does that even mean?”
“Google it. But enough about him. Have you given any thought to Thanksgiving? Did you have any plans?”
“Nothing set in stone. What about you? Do you go over to your mothers?”
“No. I haven’t talked to her since my father died, I doubt that will change just for the holidays.”
“Really? And I thought my relationship with my mother was rocky.”
“Nope. It must be a Pryce thing.”
“Apparently. So did you have any thoughts?”
“Well I do love cooking and…”
“You do? I never would have guessed. I assume you had a private chef, isn’t that what all rich people do?”
“Honestly I am home so rarely that there is no point in having a chef. I might eat at my place once a week, if that. So, Thanksgiving, why don’t you come over? I’ll have a nice Turkey, some Brocolii Casserole, some Mashed Potoes, Sweet Potatoes, Corn, the works.”
“No deserts?”
“Well I figured you could bring something? Maybe some pie?”
“I don’t bake.”
“So buy one. I’m not picky. Besides, I’ll probably give my portion to Apollo anyway.”
“Who is Apollo?”
“My dog.”
“You have a dog? You’re never home but you have a dog, that poor thing.”
“I have security at the house so they walk him and make sure he’s feed. Plus I usually have him at the office anyway.”
“At the office where? I’ve never seen him.”
“Up in my suite.”
“What suite? What are you talking about?”
“I have a suite on the 69th floor. In fact, it is the entire 69th floor.”
“Are you joking with me? There is no 69th floor.”
“Yes there is.”
“No there isn’t. The elevators only have 68 buttons, well 69 if you include the basement.”
“There is also a 69th floor and a sub-basement. That’s where all the R & D testing goes. But regardless there is a 69th floor. Only security can access it using the public elevators. Otherwise you can get up there using the private elevator in my office.”
“You’re serious?”
“Yes I am. When we get back to the office I’ll take you up there. You are welcomed to stay there if you ever need to. You know, if you don’t want to drive home after a long day. Just don’t bring any guys back there. Unless they bring their wives then we can talk it out.”
“You’re disgusting.”
“Why? Because I like women? I thought that made me a heterosexual.”
“Whatever.”
“Look, there are some things I need to go over with you regarding the New York Operation. I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to look over the documents Jim put together but there is something very wrong with their finances.”
“Wrong how? Like someone is stealing money wrong or they have issues tracking it properly?”
“I am hoping the latter but I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s the former. Jim is actually going to meet you out there with a team of people he is bringing with him. I want you to go in there and light that place a blaze if you have to. Leave no stone unturned as they say. If someone is stealing my money I want to know who it is.”
“So you can call the cops I assume?”
“Eventually.”
“Come on Theo, this isn’t Vegas. And you don’t work for the Mob. You can’t just whack a guy for doing something shady.”
“Who said I was going to do anything?”
“Excuse me Mr. Pryce…”
“Yes Jimmy?”
“Were here sir.”
“Wonderful. You two stay in the car. I won’t be but a few minutes.”
The black SUV comes to a stop in the middle of an open space. There are no other cars in the area, or anything for that matter. Just one random street light located roughly 5 feet from the car.
“Are you sure we are in the right place sir?”
“Positive.”
Theo get’s out of the car and opens his umbrella to block the rain. As he does so a figure steps out from the shadows, the light illuminates the smoke coming from the man’s cigarette as well as the man’s face.
“Hello Nathaniel.”
“Hello Theo, thank you for coming.”
“Of course. John said you wanted to see me.”
“Indeed I do. Come this way.”
Theo and Nathaniel Adolph Zachary Idenhaus known professionally as NAZI disappear into the shadows.
