Nightmare.

Lethal Lottery... Second Round.

My round two partner in the event of the year is none other than Zak Misery. Who is Zak Misery? Maybe you can tell me? No. Well it shouldn’t really matter anyway. I am confident myself and Misery will unleash exactly that... Well unleash Misery on our poor excuses for opponents next weekend. Who are our opponents again?

Chris Macbeth is stood along side is friend smoking a cigarette whilst scrolling on his mobile phone not seeming to pay much attention to what was once his master rambling on about his up and coming match up.

Macbeth

Uh, Umm, I don’t know. Lam Dang and some bird called Bri Tute or something. I think anyway.

Nightmare looks over to his apprentice his eyes narrowing in anger.

Nightmare

You’re not really taking this seriously, are you my apprentice?

Macbeth finally looks up from his phone.

Macbeth

No, I am it’s just, what is the point? You’re Nightmare, your going to ruin these guys in this match, anyway. I mean knowing you; you’ll probably destroy your partner after the match as well, I just don’t know what you’re worrying about.

Nightmare

Worry! I do not worry, it is just imperative to know all of the variables to the situation. By knowing the job in hand thoroughly will ensure a successful mission. The mission in the case is to continue on to the next round of the Lethal Lottery tournament. A tournament that I want to win, I tournament I must win to finally move to the next level and to along with The Brotherhood, begin to take over the Xtreme Wrestling Federation and bring the Black Circle to its knees.

Now even through your lack of concentration and poor attempts of being humorous I presume my opponents are in fact Cam Lang and Tri Bute?

Macbeth looks back down to his phone and begins scrolling again.

Macbeth

Uh, Yeah, whatever, Hey I have pretty much sent friend requests to everyone in the XWF locker room on FaceSmash but Wally doesn’t seem to be on here anywhere. Do you think he hasn’t got a profile?

Nightmare shakes his head and closes his eyes taking a deep breath as to not unleash his anger upon his friend whose cocky attitude is something that a few months back would have triggered Nightmare to visit him in his dreams and tortured him into retribution and change.

He is not that anymore though, he doesn’t do that anymore and he is trying his hardest to hide that part of him away from the world he once tormented. The world had suffered enough at the hands of his victims but the order of demons had gone too far that the world was beginning to suffer at there hands also.

Nightmare

Wally? He is called Waldo over this side of the pond not Wally.

Macbeth

Oh, well where the fuck is wally....Waldo!

Nightmare

It is very foolish of you to try and befriend the other members of the XWF roster, they should be your sworn enemies, the face you will go up against to achieve greatness in the world we live in. The saying goes keep you friends close but your enemies closer, how can you do that when they are all your friends. Remember these words my apprentice, Friends can stab you in the back, your enemies can’t, or will not. Your enemies will always front you up because, well they have too. You don’t trust them so they can’t be sneaky, they’ll have to face you up face to face. This is why my Lethal Lottery tournament will be a success. My need to know my opponents and partner is merely to acknowledge whether I would be better off going at this alone.

Macbeth looks back up from his phone.

Macbeth

Bullshit! I am making friends with everyone motherfucker in his motherfucking fed so when this lethal lottery event comes around again, I will have all bases covered. No matter who I am teamed with we will have a good partnership. Plus you have your Brotherhood buddies and me too. We’re friends.

Nightmare hated to admit it but his apprentice did have a point. He wasn’t going to let him enjoy that fact though.

Nightmare

The reason I can keep you as a friend is because you are not capable of stabbing me in the back or facing up against me. You puny little dwarf man.

Nightmare walks away shaking his head as the smiling Macbeth lights up another cigarette, he then looks back to his phone continuing on his search of FaceSmash for the profile of Waldo.

Later...

Now, I am alone I can continue the story that I began telling you last week, The Story of Stan Welbeck.

Stan Welbeck had been shadowing Andrew Cundy for sometime now. He was tipped of in a club that Andrew was the owner of the construction company whose site was the location of the body that was found. The body of the young university student who had been knocked down off of his bike which in hindsight we would have preferred to have been a hit and run attack, at least if it was there may have been a chance of survival for the poor young man. What happened though was going to leave his fate in no doubt. He had been picked up of the ground, put into the car and then at some point during the night he was shot in the forehead and then buried in the cement. A plan for the vicious attackers would have gotten away with if it hadn’t been dark and they would have noticed the kid’s trainer still poking out of the top of the cement.

As you can tell, they didn’t notice the trainer but the worker who arrived on site the following morning did notice and called the authorities. The next day the site was swarming with police as Stan watched on taking down notes, looking for clues. One of the suspects had been caught and sent down quickly admitting everything but Stan believed there was more to it, the owner of the site, who was arrested but released without charge. Stan believed that Andrew Cundy must have had something to do with this, from what he had noticed while snooping around the site was that only Andrew had the keys to gain entry onto the site, nobody else. The police had noticed this also but Andrew with the help of his accomplice managed to put reasonable doubt into there investigation. The suspect who is now locked away claimed he stole the keys from Andrew when he bumped into him in a club the night the incident took place.

The story didn’t add up to Stan though, it was too big of a coincidence to be true. This curiosity led Stan to the club in question, it was a club he new very well, a club you have heard all about earlier in Stan’s story, The Ice Burg Lounge, The location where Stan first fell into the world for drugs and alcohol abuse. Stan was hesitant to return to his old haunt he had been relatively clean for a little while now and really didn’t want to ruin that with the temptation of the little draws under the tables holding all the Meth, weed and coke and drug user would dream about. He had to though. He had to get more information. If Stan’s feelings on this case were right the police were letting an innocent man go and he couldn’t let that happen.

Stan entered the Ice Burg lounge for the first time in a while and all then old memories came flooding back, Old memories that he did very well to largely ignore and continues to focus on the job at hand. He approached the bar and leant up against it. He looks around the club for a while before ordering a beer from the waiting bartender. He turns and leans his back against the bar and continues to look across the smoky room. There was hundreds of people on the large dance floor just below the area where the bar was and Stan walks over to the balconies edge and leans over looking down to see all the people dancing below. He had no interested in the dancers though, he was looking for Andrew.

It is hard to tell if it was lucky for Andrew of unlucky for him that he had decided not to frequent the club on that evening but thinks would start to unravel for him anyway. Stan had given up on spotting Andrew in the club that night and turned back to the bar and ordered another drink. He smiled at the bartender and paid his tab and took a swig before slowly making his way around the club to a different area, the V.I.P area in which he had entered the first time he found himself in this club. He hoped his friend had been in and the she may or may not know of Andrew Cundy. He nodded at the doorman who recognised him from before who let him pass with no hassle in to the V.I.P room. As he entered he noticed the same Hollywood actor that had been in there on his very first time in the club. He continued past him and headed towards the bar to ask the tender if his friend was working he stopped in his tracks though when he noticed Andrew stood at the bar having a drink. Stan approaches the bar and stands next to Andrew. The bartender comes over and Stan orders a beer then stands next to Andrew looking around trying to think of anything he could say that may help him with his investigation.

Stan: Busy night huh.

Andrew: Yes, these nights are the best, I love it when all the women come out to play.

Both men smile and Andrew holds up his bottle and Stan clinks his against it. The pair continues to talk for a while with Stan trying to think of anything to say that could cause Andrew to slip up also listening intently to every word Andrew was saying. Stan gets an idea. He signals for the bartender and orders two beers, one for himself and one for Andrew. When the bartender returns with the drinks Stan leans in slightly.

Stan: Hey, do you know if anyone has handed any keys in tonight, I seemed to have lost mine somewhere?

The bartender shakes his head and apologises before leaving to serve somebody else. Stan turns back to Andrew and shrugs his shoulders.

Stan: Oh well, looks like I’m going to have to change the locks to the house.

Stan smiles and the pair clink glasses again and both take a sip of there beer.

Andrew: Hey man, you really shouldn’t bring your keys in here, look how busy it is, I just have my card firmly in my pocket and nothing else.

Stan: Yeah, your probably right buddy.

Andrew: Yeah I am right I have never bought anything in here apart from my card, its just to busy, to easy to lose things.

Stan nods in agrees with Andrew all whilst thinking to himself.

“Gotcha!”

To be Continued....
