Gazing out at the peaceful yet gloomy ocean, black ravens flew past me and gained my attention. A cloud of fog floated by and I could see a figure in the distance of the beach. My white trainers sunk into the soft sand whilst my black jeans and red shirt were dampened by the gentle rain. The dazzling figure appeared closer and closer as my heart began to pound slightly faster. Thoughts rushed through my head as the figure became clear.... [/i]

Alexandra had been walking along the waters edge. A nice lesiurely stroll, when she noticed someone else was occupying the same beach. She walked closer and noticed it was Steve Davids.

"Hello Steve. Its been a while. How are you?"

He stepped closer to her and they both gazed out into the stunning scenery. The darkened sky blended with the Sapphire ocean. His voice was husky and nervous.

"I am always well at heart. My head tells me other things." He trembled slightly "And how about you? How are things with you?"

"Dark have been my thoughts of late."

Alexandra looked up at him momentarily, before looking back out over vastness of the ocean.

"I have not been myself lately."

He continued to stare out into the ocean. His croaky voice sounded like a wolf's whisper.

"Darkness has always filled my mind... Why are you not yourself."

He looked at her momentarily before lowing his eyes from hers.

"Somethings in here."

She taps her head. She raised her head to look at him.

"I feel it changing me inside."

He squinted his eyes in thought and bit his lip.

"For better or for worse?.... I am always here."

She looked up at him, her head cocked to the side. She smiled a little and spoke.

"You really aren't the monster people play you off to be."

A sad smile struck his lips. He gazed back.

"Not always. No.... Not always. There are more sides to this stone."

He wondered what was going on in the mind of the beauty in front of him.

Alexandra smiled up at him.

"Don't worry I won't tell anyone."

She turned and looked back out over the ocean.

"I'm glad to see you returned."

"I never left. Not really anyway. I do not see enough of you."

He smiled, staring down at the golden sand.

Alexandra sat down in the sand with a soft giggle.

"You want to see me?"

She looked at him a bit puzzled.

"I have not seen you since I was lurking in the darkness."

He sat down beside her, grinning.

"Always."

He laughed gently.

"People lurking in the darkness is oh so familiar."

Alexandra smiled at him, chuckling softly.

"Very much so. Those who find solace in the dark have often been my greatest friends."

She looked down at the sand.

"Aye, friends."

He looked down as well, then looked at her eyes.

"The darkness confides us both. Strange isn't it?"

Alexandra looks at him.

"Yes."

She spoke softly, her eyes falling back down to the sand.

"My darkness has been ther since I was born. A dark one since birth."

"That makes the two of us."

He placed his hand on her shoulder as they both looked out to sea, smiling.

Alexandra looked at him smiling softly.

"You too?"

She shook her head.

"I've never told anyone this. My mother died the day I wad born, so did my twin."

She picked up some of the sand playing with it in her hand.

"I too lost my mother on the day of my birth. I was brandished a murderer from the day I was born. That is awful though, I am so sorry."

He took a deep breath, and looked at her once more.

She looked at him, kneeling in the sand to look at him.

"Lives are like the sands of a beach, the rise and flow with the tide."

She looked down and then back up at him.

"No one deserves that title from birth, least of all you."

She held his gaze

"The people around me have always seemed to disagree."

He held hers.

Alexandra kept her eyes on his.

"Well they are wrong."

She looked at him, shaking her head.

"You are no murderer, Steve."

"They've always been wrong."

Steve spoke softly with a silent smile on his face as he touched her hand gently.

Alexandra smiled at him.

"Good. You need to not believe them. There is such sadness behind your eyes. You can tell me your worries."

"I am in a constant battle with myself. A struggle to know what is right and what is wrong. What is strong and what is weak. My mind is constantly being ripped apart and reformed. I do not always know the problems but I know I am always seeking answers."

He bit his lip and stared deeply into her eyes.

Alexandra looked into his eyes, holding his gaze as she spoke. Her blue eyes searching his dark ones.

"Some problems needs not answers, but rather solutions."

"Find one for me."

Silence.

Alexandra smiles brightly.

"I cannot help solve what I do not know."

"What is strong and what is weak?"

He held her hand in his.

Alexandra looks at his hand holding hers.

"Strength is the abilty to know when to let power go. Strength is fighting throught the pain, when everything and everyone tells you to give up. At least that's what strength is to me. Its the ability to cry and not be ashamed. Weakness is the inability to do the aforementioned things."

She smiled at him.

He kisses her on the top of the hand.

"You are brilliant you know?"

He grins.

She smiled softly.

"See you aren't a monster."

"Monsters do not truly exist my sweet. I have been through much also, but some things remain unanswered."

"What eyes have seen are lessons for the soul."

Alexandra smiled, a slight laugh to her voice.

"I am struggling to divert my eyes from your own."

Alexandra looks at him, confused for a moment.

"You can't look in my eyes? Why is that?"

She look down at the sands.

"No silly, I cannot take my eyes off of yours."

"Oh."

She hadn't thought of that. Sometimes she found herself in a bit of loathing.

"There's not a lot there. Nothing to get entranced by."

He pushed hair out of her eyes and lifted her chin so that their eyes met once more.
