Sebastian Duke is not in a pleasant mood. He came closer than anyone else to defeating John Madison, but this time at least, it was not to be. No one has been able to stand toe to toe with John Madison and been able to say 'I'm just as good as you.' Sebastian Duke can. John Madison won the match on Madness, that much is true. John Madison must also recognize that his time as King of the XWF could have, and should have ended Monday night. Even if he won't admit it outwardly, he knows Sebastian Duke is every bit as good as he is.

Today though, Sebastian Duke is angrier than I have ever seen him. What makes this a bad thing, a really bad thing, in fact, is that Peter Gilmour should be here in the next few minutes. I, his Messenger, sits across from him in his office. The Angel of Darkness seems to be stuck in a sort of trance. He stares at nothing with fire in his eyes. When he speaks, his words are filled with anger.

Suddenly there is a buzz on the intercom. I reach for the button, but Sebastian slams my hand against the desk. The man says nothing. He just stares at me. To be more accurate, he stares through me, as the intercom buzzes a few more times.

THE MESSENGER: “I was going to answer the page.”

Slowly, Sebastian removes his hand from mine. Freeing me to answer the page. I hit the button on the intercom.

THE MESSENGER: “Yes? What is it?”

GUARD SHACK: “I have Peter Gilmour here. Says he has a meeting with Mr. Duke.”

THE MESSENGER: “Oh, right. Send him up.”

I leave the office and head toward the front door. I'm more nervous now than I ever have been. That's saying a lot though. I've seen and done a lot of things. A lot of things that would be considered illegal and land the average man in prison. This is different. This is Peter Gilmour. An ally of Sebastian Duke, but also part of an enemy stable. There really is no telling how this little meeting will go.

I reach the door and I hesitate to open it. At least at first. After all, I'm the right hand man of the Angel of Darkness. The single biggest threat posed to the King of the XWF. I also follow orders better than anyone, so I open the door.

Peter Gilmour stands on the other side. His trios title draped over his shoulder.

THE MESSENGER: “Hello, Mr. Gilmour.”

PETER GILMOUR: “What's up Jake? Where's Sebastian?”

I begin to lead him in to see Sebastian. We walk slow.

THE MESSENGER: “Pete, I have to warn you. He's in a pretty foul mood.”

PETER GILMOUR: “Well, that's a good thing. An angry Sebastian Duke is a fucking scary Sebastian Duke.”

THE MESSENGER: “No, Pete. I don't think you understand. He's being quiet. Not saying much at all. I've never seen him like this, Pete. There is no telling what he'll do. He could snap out at any minute. I'm warning you as a friend Pete. Please, don't push him.”

Pete looks at me and I get the impression that what I am telling him is resonating. He's grasping the hint. I turn the knob on the door to Sebastian Duke's office and lead Peter Gilmour inside. I stand near the wall as Pete takes a seat directly across from Sebastian.

PETER GILMOUR: “So, Duke. You wanted this meeting with me. What's on your mind?”

Sebastian Duke says nothing. He just continues to sit there, burning a hole with his stare through Peter Gilmour.

THE MESSENGER: “I'm sorry, Pete. Maybe it's just not a good time.”

Pete reluctantly stands up. That's when Sebastian breaks his silence.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “SIT!”

Both Pete and I are startled by the tone of voice used by Sebastian. Pete returns to his seat. I return to my place against the wall.

PETER GILMOUR: “If you want to talk, Duke. Then talk. I have a plane to catch.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Fuck the plane, Pete. I want to know why you are forcing me to team up with a nobody like Cam fucking Long!?”

PETER GILMOUR: “Lang.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Who gives a shit!?”

PETER GILMOUR: “I trust Cam Lang.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “So, because you and I are friendly, that means I have to be friendly with your band of zero talent misfits!?”

PETER GILMOUR: “Duke! I had no choice! Feder is...”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “In a nursing home. Yeah. I get it. Being pushed around in a wheel chair by his pathetic little curly haired fuckin' wannabe John Madison son! I love it Pete. I really do. I offer my friendship to you. I offer my services to you, to help you keep your title, and what do I hear? I'm not your first, or even your second choice!

“Soldier this! Feder that! Fuck that scrawny little meth addict and fuck that old piece of shit, Poppa Feder! They're history! I'm the here and now, Pete!”

PETER GILMOUR: “But they were the rightful cham...”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “You think I give two shits about what or who is rightful anything? John Madison is the King of the XWF! A man I beat twice on Monday night! That makes me the rightful King, Pete! Do you see his fucking crown on my head!?”

PETER GILMOUR: “No.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Exactly, Pete. I'm the rightful King of the XWF and everybody knows it! Yet, I'm not the King! Feder and Soldier may be the rightful champions, but they are not champions! I'm a champion! I've held almost every god damned title the XWF has to offer and you want to know why that is, Pete?”

Pete says nothing.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Because I'm that fucking good! I'm every bit as good and as dangerous as I claim to be. Which is more than I can say for some people in this room.”

Pete slams his fists against the desk in anger and frustration.

PETER GILMOUR: “Soldier never betrayed me! Feder never betrayed me! YOU! You betrayed me, Duke! I'm demanding answers as to why, right here and now!”

Sebastian leans back in his chair and rolls his eyes.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Soldier and Feder never betrayed you? You have a Trios title defense tonight! I don't see Unknown Soldier anywhere around to defend his third! I don't see Sid Feder's daddy shooting up steroids and pumping iron getting himself ready! No, Pete! I'M the one that offered MY services to help you keep what I think belongs to you!

“As far as my 'betrayal.' It was a business decision that I needed to make!”

PETER GILMOUR: “Yeah, to keep your little lap dog, Griffin MacAlister happy!”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Maybe I did do it to keep MacAlister happy, but you know what, Pete? That doesn't mean it was the wrong decision!”

PETER GILMOUR: “Oh! So, it's like that?”

Duke shrugs.

PETER GILMOUR: “Maybe I'm the one that made the mistake of choosing you as one of my co-champions!”

Duke stands up and for a second, I thought he was going to break Peter Gilmour. All he does is walk over to his trophy cabinet, still with its busted glass panels, and take out the XWF Trios title. He looks at it a second and tosses it to Peter Gilmour.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Take that title, because it doesn't mean shit! Take it, and get the hell off my property! If Soldier and Feder are so fucking good at carrying your ass to glory, go find one of them! Maybe you'll stand a chance tonight!”

Gilmour shakes his damn fuckin' head and drapes the other Trios title over his shoulder. A look of disgust on his face.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Better hurry, Pete. Time is ticking and God only knows what Meth house Soldier is in. Or how long it'll take to get Feder out of his Depends and into suitable wrestling gear.”

Pete doesn't listen to another word. He bursts out of the office door and then off the property.

THE MESSENGER: “Don't you think you were a little harsh?”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Fuck that! I said what needed to be said!”

THE MESSENGER: “Are you going to not show up tonight?”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Get Hunter Payne in here. He and I have something to discuss!”

I guess that change of topic is the end of Peter Gilmour's relationship with the Angel of Darkness.

I return to Sebastian's office a few minutes later. With Hunter Payne. Hunter sits in the chair Peter just occupied.

HUNTER PAYNE: “Was Gilmour just here? I smell chicken parm.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Where the hell do you get off drafting John fucking Madison to your team!?”

HUNTER PAYNE: “I drafted Juan, not John.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “It's the same fucking person, you dumb fuck!”

HUNTER PAYNE: “That hasn't been proven.”

I think I need some Excedrin Migraine.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “We have a number of quality individuals within the Brotherhood and your first draft pick is my sworn enemy. The leader of the The Black Circle! A member of my Brotherhood is willingly teaming with JOHN FUCKING MADISON!?”

HUNTER PAYNE: “Well, he did just beat you on Monday. He must be pretty good.”

Oh shit.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “John Madison didn't beat me! I beat me! That's the truth!”

HUNTER PAYNE: “Ohhhhhhhkay.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “What is this shit with Jay and Mark Leonard?”

HUNTER PAYNE: “Joy..... and Matt Lennox.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Whatever.”

HUNTER PAYNE: “Matt has been sleeping with Joy. She was my girlfriend.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “So?”

HUNTER PAYNE: “I'm pissed about it.”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “The do something about it kid! Teach that whore and Mitch Lawrence a fucking lesson!”

HUNTER PAYNE: “MATT! LENNOX!”

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “Who gives a fuck what his name is! You go out there next Monday, and you do something about it! Unleash hell!

“Now, get the hell out of here before I break your fucking neck!”

Hunter gets up to leave.

SEBASTIAN DUKE: “You believe this shit, Jake? A member of my Brotherhood teaming with John fuckin' Madison!”

Fade to Darkness.
