|-| It started on July 22nd, 2013. The Shawn Steele that had made his X-treme Wrestling Federation debut just weeks earlier was killed on that Monday night in Berlin, Germany. You could call it a murder, if that’s the way you see it. And you could say that the perpetrators of this murder, Ricky Desmond, John Austin, Andrew Aldway and Andrew Morrison, The Connection, were wanted men. Ricky Desmond fled. You could consider it the equivalent of fleeing the country for one that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with your own country. That’s what Ricky Desmond did when he effectively retired from the XWF as an in-ring competitor. He skirted justice. The same justice that Andrew Aldway received on August 12th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The justice that put Aldway on the shelf. Andrew Aldway was driven straight to the depths of hell, perhaps literally, when Shawn Steel threw him off of the X-Tron, only to drop a massive elbow from a good twenty feet up. Andrew Aldway was the first to feel the justice of a re-born Shawn Steele. The first to feel his true sadistic nature. But he wasn’t the last member of The Connection to be brought to justice.
Andrew Morrison. “The Tornado”. He thuoght it would be a good idea to call out Shawn Steele instead of waiting for Shawn Steele to come after him, like everyone knew he would. And maybe Morrison thought he could win. After all, after making the challenge, Andrew Morrison basically disappeared for two solid weeks. We later found out that for those two weeks Andrew Morrison was in his hometown of Houston, Texas, training with perhaps the best athlete in the National Football League today, All-Pro Defensive End J.J. Watt. And that training was effective. Andrew Morrison wasn’t lying when he said we were going to witness the best Andrew Morrison that the XWF had ever seen. He truly was a force of nature inside of that steel cage on Monday night. He was bigger, stronger, faster than he had ever been. He showed everyone that he is a force to be reckoned with. But what truly happened that night, what every single XWF Superstar will take from that steel cage, is the sadistic nature of Shawn Steele again being let loose. And that should be a scary thought for every XWF Superstar. The more that sadistic nature is let loose, the closer we’re getting to the man that Shawn Steele once was.
And just who was .. is, that man?
Before he was forced into an early retirement by circumstances beyond his control, the man that was then known as “Sadistic” Shawn Steele had become one of the most feared men in all of professional wrestling. His reputation for hurting, no, brutalizing his opponents, and enjoying it thoroughly, had stretched all throughout the industry. But that was a long time ago. And when Shawn Steele made his return to the business that he had previously ravaged, this time as a part of the X-treme Wrestling Federation, he was a shell of his former self. Sure he was still good. Still competitive. But those years away from the ring had changed him. They had changed him for the better.
His wife, Caitlin, had made him a better man. He was still as dominant as ever every time he stepped into the ring. He was still a Champion. But his vicious streak, his ruthless, sadistic nature was slowly beginning to fade away. Caitlin’s kind, caring nature had started to rub off onto him. Whatever small part of that vicious streak that still existed inside of him when his daughter, Erica, was born. Fatherhood, like it does most men, had changed him. He had found happiness. And, perhaps even more importantly, he had found contentment in his life. Sadly, that change however, was short lived.
After the accident, he became a broken man. He left the business that he had loved since he was a child. His marriage quickly crumbled. His life crumbled soon after. He became reclusive. He began to let life pass him by. But, perhaps ironically, it was that compassion and kindness of his now ex-wife that put him on the path to re-discovering his sadistic nature. Seeing what he was becoming, what he had become, she made one last phone call to the man she had once loved.
The former Caitlin Hall, now going by Caitlin Young, had been hearing the reports that her former husband had turned to alcohol in his attempts to forget his pain. Based on his family history, she knew what this would lead to. So, doing her one last good deed for her ex-husband, she was the one who convinced him to return to the one thing that had saved him in the first place. The ring. In this case .. the ring of the X-treme Wrestling Federation.
And now .. now he’s beginning to come around. He’s put the past behind him and his former self is beginning to return. And that’s very, very bad news for the rest of the X-treme Wrestling Federation. Now that he’s gotten a taste of what he used to do .... he’s enjoying it. He’s back to looking for the fight. No longer waiting for the war to come to him, he’s joining the front line. That’s why, when he was approached about joining Team Angelus to partake in the main event WAR GAMES match on Wednesday Warfare, he didn’t think twice. |-|

As the picture fades up from complete darkness, the picture remains clouded with smokiness. Actually it’s clouded with actual smoke, coming from the cigarette that Shawn Steele is smoking as he sits in a single steel folding chair, seated beneath a single hanging light.
Shawn Steele: That’s two. Out of three. Andrew Aldway and Andrew Morrison. Both gone. All that’s left, is John Austin. The beloved “Mr. Wrestling” of the XWF. It’s been a long time in the making Austin. This dates back to before The Connection was even a gleam in Ricky Desmond’s eye. This dates back .. all the way back to my second match in the X-treme Wrestling Federation. That Monday night in July .. on that night Austin, you were the better man. I don’t make excuses. You beat me that Monday night. And I know that you say you don’t need to face me again. I know you think that you’ve already beaten me, so it does your career no good to step back into the ring with me. And you’re right. It doesn’t. But this isn’t about your career path John. It’s about my revenge. MY VENGANCE!
Stopping to take a drag from his cigarette, Steele remains silent for a moment before he continues on.
Shawn Steele: But just like with Morrison, and Aldway before him, I’ll have my time with you. Sooner or later, Paul Heyman will do what’s right, and he’ll put us in a cage. Or Last Man Standing. He wants ratings, Austin. And after my last two performances, ratings is what I bring to the table. Heyman knows good business Austin, and he knows that our rematch is going to do good business. I had hoped to make it three in three weeks. Three victories. Three casualties. But, with Paul apparently needing a bit of a breather after his numerous unsuccessful attempts at ripping the Crown from Madison’s head. But I’m not the type to just sit around when there’s a fight to get into. And all I’ve been hearing about for two weeks was this upcoming WAR GAMES event on Warfare. So what the hell.
Putting out the cigarette against the table that’s sitting next to his chair, Steele leans forward to look into the camera.
Shawn Steele: I have no allegiance to Angelus. Or any member of our team. This is all about opportunity to me. The opportunity to go to war. Don’t misunderstand it. I appreciate Angelus extending the offer. And I respect all four of my teammates. Santos, Turner, MacAlister, Callaway. Hell, I even like Callaway. I like anyone who can shut up Swift Ion for even two minutes. But this isn’t about us forming some kind of formative team to battle The Black Circle and The Congregation. Not for me. This is about damage. About carnage. The same type of carnage that I’ve caused the past two weeks. This is about getting my hands on someone. Anyone. And rip them apart. What I do like about this team that Angelus has put together, is that I’m not alone in that desire. And come Wednesday night, the five of us are going to bring the war right to the doorstep of Eli and each of the unlucky four individuals that he selected to join him.
Chuckling quietly to himself, Shawn leans back in the chair before continuing.
Shawn Steele: But he’s good at that. Gathering his followers. Eli James .. a smart man. But also a coward. And not just because he gets his Congregation to do his fighting for him. But because he chooses to align himself with John Madison and The Black Circle. Instead of being the best, he chooses to be the best’s bitch. Nothing but another lackey for The King. He can sit back in his little chair, with his whore in his lap, telling us all about how he’s here to save us. He’s here at the behest of a higher power. Keep right on converting the sinners, preacher man. Keep talking about Angelus wanting me to be his own sacrificial lamb. Your words aren’t going to matter on Wednesday night. Not when your Congregation isn’t there to keep me from ripping your arm off and beating you with it. I’m prepared for War Eli .. keep convincing the weak minded to follow you. When it comes down to you and I in that ring .. prepare to meet a real monster.
Standing from his chair, Steele turns away from the camera and begins to walk away as the scene begins fading out.
