Returning from Warfare, Mystica makes quickly for his shack, despite it being nearly 2 in the morning. The darkness is thick across the Promise Land, with most shacks dark. Most people are fast asleep, dreaming of the coming better days. Dreaming of better things. But Mystica cannot sleep. In the aftermath of Warfare, he has been assigned an incredibly daunting task: preach on Sunday to the citizens of the Promise Land. Disappearing into his shack, Mystica slams the door behind him, not worrying about the sound. His mind is already racing with ideas, and he can barely contain them behind his lips.

"King David and Goliath, no...used that metaphor...think...more community...facts, figures, theology...studies..."

He stumbles blindly in the dark room, feeling his way over to his desk, still pushed to the far side of the east wall, just right of the window. As Mystica reaches the desk, he looks out the window. Somewhere out there, Elisha was wandering the dark woods with Lacey. David wasn't quite sure what their entire spiel entailed, but he was happy to be teamed with him. Elisha was a monster of a man, and David knew that muscle would come in handy. With the incredible challenge of Duke and McAllister ahead of them, Elisha's pure strength would be downright necessary. But the strategy? That was all on Mystica's shoulders. The creature, not the man. This was the derisive division right here. Where the power of Mystica is drawn and the intellect of David drawn equally. David is the one to speak Sunday. Mystica is the one to ensure the Tag Titles stay right where they belong.

"So what's the plan then?" Mystica asked, shifting control back and forth between the two.

"Study," David answered, pulling open a drawer on the desk and fumbling around inside. "Study like we've never studied before."

"Roight," continued Mystica. "Two topics. Preaching...and those pathetic little creatures grabbing at our ankles."

"They have names, you know," David sighed, finally pulling a book of matches out of the drawer and striking one. Lighting the candle on the desk, a small batch of light flooded the room, revealing David's eerie pale face in the dark.

"Names are forgotten," Mystica cackled. "In time."

"Yes, everything is forgotten with the winds of time," David replied, opening two books simultaneously: The Bible and The Book of Eli. "But not when it's written down."

"Legends live forever," Mystica concluded. Grabbing the candle by the brass holder, he moved over to the fireplace and utilized the wick to start a nice fire. Placing the candle back on the desk, he moved quickly, filling his tea kettle with water from the tap in the bathroom and hanging it over the fire. In time, he'd have a good cup of Earl Gray to go with his study. It was a habit he had carried over from his work as a journalist. A nice cup of tea to go with his reading.

"So what legend shall we place upon the world, hm?" asked David, digging into his mischievous side for once.

"Oh, it all started with the Tag Titles, luv," replied Mystica, smiling. David hurriedly pulled a legal notepad and pen from his jacket pocket. Placing them both on the desk, Mystica quickly did away with his shirt, thinking it much too hot an evening to write without some assistance. Inside, David desired for a fan.

"Then what's next?" David pondered, highlighting a passage in one of the books and taking a quick note.

"It's all eventuality," Mystica responded simply. "Eventually, Eli loses the title. This is reality. It must occur. And we will be there to watch his back. I'm with you on this now. Let's stand with this man. We ARE his Congregation. Do you think he'd have any power without us? We're integral! A basic part of the foundation. Think of it as a building we've all built together. We and Elisha have taken dominance of the bottom floor. That's the Tag Titles. Without our unstoppable, indestructible support, Eli would fall, along with our entire organization. Unfortunately, Madison won't admit that, while we're just one piece of the puzzle, We and Elisha are vital to his utter control of the XWF. And think of it. With such a tower standing against them, how can Duke's so-called brotherhood even stand a chance? They're men throwing stones against giants. They figure if they take out the bottom, they take out the tower from the bottom. But the support is fireproof. We are impregnable. The Brotherhood cannot defeat us. It's impossible. Improbable. Unbelievable. A fairy tale."

"So we remain the foundation?" asked David, moving back to the fireplace and pouring the hot water into a mug he had prepared with a satchet of Ear Gray. "Always be the underlings?"

"Not in the slightest," answered Mystica with a smirk. "Work our way up. Eli started himself in a position of power. Smart man. Dominant. But he must rely on us. Eventually, we work our way into our own leadership. Don't you see? Sunday is our day to show the Promise Land that we can be depended upon. That's where you come in."

"Yeah, Eli said for me to do it, not you."

"I'm too...straightforward."

"Too ambitious. Let's stay low. Eli is our friend and colleague. We work with him, we defend him. Can I play to virtues for at least one minute?"

"Your faith is clever," Mystica laughed, sipping the cup, then immediately regretting it. He didn't quite understand what David tasted in this slop excuse for a beverage. "But it won't last you a lifetime."

"As long as I need it to," David sighed. Thinking it was just about enough of the monster inside for this week, David took in a breath of air and sent Mr. Hyde down below. He was the man once more.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a lot of work to do."
