“You can fuck all the way off.” The anger in Centurion’s voice could be sensed from Ohio, but he had every right to be mad.

We open up outside of Centurion’s luxury cabin in the Poconos. There we see Centurion standing on his front porch, leaning against one of the columns that holds up the roof. Below him, standing in the driveway is Anarchy GM Jimmy Stars.

“You’re angry.” Stars says without a hint of irony in his voice, which only seems to make Centurion even madder. Centurion steps off the porch and slowly approaches Stars.

“Me? Angry? Nah.” Centurion sarcastically retorts as he places his hand on Stars’ shoulder. “Oh hey, by the way, since you’re here, do you mind following me into my garage? I have a new circular saw and I want to see how it would react when placed against a human face.”

“I get it.” Stars says as he raises his hands, trying to diffuse the situation. “I’ve put you in a difficult situation…”

“Not difficult for me at all!” Centurion snipes back as he backs away from Stars. “See, I’m just not going to show up. You can book whatever match you want with whatever amount of clowns you wish to stack on top of one another, but I will not be there. So…bye.”

Centurion turns to walk back toward the house, but Stars chases behind him. “And you can absolutely do that! And there wouldn’t be a single person who would see you differently because of it…but you gotta think of the upside here. See this as the opportunity that it is.”

Centurion places one foot on the porch steps, and then stops. He laughs for a second before turning back toward the Anarchy GM. “An opportunity? I’ve been a World Champion many times over. More wins than anyone who has ever walked into the XWF. What POSSIBLE opportunity could I get from teaming up with the Wish dot com version of Bald Bull and face Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumbass?”

“The OVATION!” Stars responds back, emphasizing the word “ovation” and waving his hand in the air as he does. “You were there in Oklahoma. You heard that crowd when you walked out. They ADORE you, Cent. And when they found out you might actually return to the ring, ticket sales skyrocketed. We’re already sold out!”

“…Anarchy’s sold out?” Centurion says, his voice instantly becoming disarmed and now more quizzacle.

“Centurion IS Anarchy!” Stars continues, further attempting to sell Centurion on the idea. “You could wrestle a broom every week, and not only would you consistently sell out the arena, but the crowd would go crazy for you every time. The fans have made it clear - they. Want. Cent.”

Centurion shakes his head, not as angrily as before, but still dismissive of what is being asked of him. “I made a promise, not just to myself, but to my fans, my family, and most importantly - to Thad, who takes the fact that he was my last match as a huge badge of honor. And unlike a lot of those folks still sucking up the oxygen in that place, I kinda like Thad.”

“Don’t worry about Thad!” Stars instantly dismisses Centurion’s objection. “He understands. Hell, everyone has retired and come back in this business. You’ve done it multiple times…”

“And that’s the point!” Centurion interrupts. “How many times am I going to do this? At what point does it go from being a novelty to just being sad? I popped my head in for one second because Dolly asked a favor of me, and I still somewhat like the business despite all of it’s issues. I never intended to come back.”

“You challenged Darren…”

“To a FIGHT!” Centurion quickly snaps back. “I wasn’t going to wrestle the man! I was going to show up to Relentless with a truck full of garden tools and cut that dude’s head off. You think I’d risk my legacy, my reputation, everything I’ve built in this business on THAT tub of custard?”

“You’re not RISKING anything.” Stars reassures Centurion. “Your legacy is intact. It’s non-negotiable. Everything from this point on is just filler, so instead of asking yourself how it would look on you, think about what you WANT to do. And I know you, Cent. You WANT the crowd chanting your name. You WANT to beat the hell out of folks you don’t think are worthy to be in the ring. And you WANT to get your hands dirty again because it’s what you’re built for.”

Centurion looks down and away from Stars, thinking of the words he just said. He takes a deep breath as he seriously considers the offer. “I’ll need a little more than that. I’ll need Darren. I don’t give a fuck about the X-Treme Title - Let Robbie have it for all I care. I just want to fight Darren, and send him back to whatever layer of Hell he emerged from.”

Stars gets a slight grin on his face as he realizes he’s close to closing the deal. “I can do that.”

Centurion thinks for one final time before turning back towards his front porch. He walks back up the steps and turns to face Stars. “This isn’t a yes. I still need to discuss this with my family. You’ll know if I show up on Thursday if I’ve decided to accept your offer.”

“It’s not a no!” An excited Jimmy Stars yells out. “And I’ll take it!”

Centurion gives him one last nod before turning and walking back into the cabin. Stars turns back towards his car and claps his hands together with a giant smile on his face, knowing he just landed the XWF legend.
