The classic song by Mountain is being performed live by a tribute band aboard a replica of the Mississippi Queen paddlewheel boat, which is currently docked at the Wolf River Harbor in Memphis, Tennessee. The band is set up in a corner of a ballroom, across is a full-size bar and in between the two a decent size wooden dance floor, with round tables all around it. There are people dancing, while some are eating and drinking at the tables and even more on the deck and outside halls of the boat. You hear the horn blare loudly, letting everyone know it’s time to depart. The band continues to play, and what grabs your attention is their bass player, Xavier Lux dressed in casual clothes. Who knew he could play?

As they finish the song, the last of the set, Xavier hands the bass guitar to the lead singer and thanks them for letting him play with them for a couple of songs. He then signs a few items for them and takes some pictures and he asks for a picture himself and gets some signed drumsticks. Once they say their goodbyes for now, planning to see each other later tonight at the casino on the bottom deck, Xavier makes his way to the outside and then takes the steps to the very top deck. Once there he approaches the outdoor bar and asks for two “Godfathers”, whiskey mixed with amaretto. He walks over to the guardrail overlooking the Mississippi river and takes a seat at the stools set up there. He drinks one of the godfathers right away, then turns towards the XWF drone that has been following him this whole time.

I believe in first and second chances, but third chances? I do now! After I was eliminated from the number one contender’s tournament, I thought I was pretty much dead in the water, unlike this boat, with no real direction in Anarchy.

But thanks to the mighty gorilla that roams whatever arena XWF shows up to, both HGH and Unknown Solider were taken out by it, leaving Ruby without a final opponent. So here I am, back in the game, being thrown a lifeline, been given another chance to get closer to the Anarchy championship which has already eluded me in two separate occasions.

Two weeks ago I was in the TFCE Rumble, and on Thursday night, I’ll be entering the Elimination Royale. The stipulations couldn’t be more different between the two though, one was for charity, for fun, entering one at a time with no real prize on the line except raising money for good causes. This match, the prize is just for one of us, all eight will enter at the same time and try to eliminate each other not just by throwing someone over the top… Oh no, that crazy bastard Vinnie threw two monkey-wrenches into the classic match and people can also be eliminated by getting pinned or submitted. Now I don’t know about trying to take the time to submit someone, but sometimes is hard to toss someone out after you have delivered the knockout blow. Of course, you gotta hope the others leave you enough alone for three seconds to get the pin… I don’t see why they wouldn’t, it helps everyone eliminating people but there some hardheaded assholes who just want to eliminate every single wrestler out there…

Speaking of the wrestlers out there, look I’m not going to waste my time talking about people I don’t know… and I don’t mean any disrespect to Erik Holland or Darren Dangerous, or even Unknown Soldier or Centurion. I don’t have history with any of them, but frankly I don’t need to. I am an equal opportunity ass kicker and regardless of who is placed in front of me I'm going to give them the exact same treatment: Toxin, Cure, pin for the one, two three... Next!

So whether you are Lord Raab or Mastermind, when it comes down to it, you are all the same to me… Just a number I need to lower from seven to zero, because I will be the one that goes on to face Ruby in the main event… and Ruby, I got a receipt for you. Five months ago, you and I met in the Plump Pigeon Tournament, and I honestly cannot recall who won that, but I know it wasn’t me and it was all thanks to you. I came in late into that tournament but all I had to was win two matches to make it to the next round and I beat Oswald, then I faced you and you managed to do something no one had ever done before, you reversed my finisher into a Ruby Cutter. You got lucky then, I honestly believe that… But five months is a long time and much has changed, this time, there is no reversing the outcome… You will go home empty handed while I go to Bad Medicine and challenge not only for one, but two championships in one night.

Xavier laughs to himself.

I can already hear Jason Cashe crying about it on twitter. “Red carper treatment.”

He scoffs and then grabs his second drink, this one he sips slowly.

Nah man, I’m going to earn this shot, like I’ve earned everything in my life.

The guitarist of the band finds him, and she has a couple of old fashions with her. She smiles, they toast, and Xavier waves the drone away so he can enjoy the ride down the Mississippi river with his new lady friend.
