Well it appears we’re in that room again. It isn’t really familiar to anyone, not yet anyway. Marf is perched in that creaky chair staring off at whatever it is he stares off at. Old memories perhaps or maybe future dreams. Or maybe he’s holding in a fart that could come out with disastrous outcomes.

But none of that is correct at all. There’s an odd looking television in the room with Marf today. So that is what he’s staring so intently at.

Marf: Warfare. Maybe it is naive to make an assessment based on only one viewing, but this seems like a wonderful place. So many new friends to make. So many shiny belts to take from people. So many dreams to crush. So much chaos.

A revolting shudder seems to pass through his entire body. For a moment, a fleeting moment it seems like he is actually looking into the future and the high potential of chaotic violence. Then he comes back to us.

Marf: I watched you too, Ash Quinn. I’m pleased to meet you I hope you know. My name is Marf Swaysons and I suppose I’m one of those new kids on the block. Or perhaps a young buck is a more modern reference. Except there will be far less super kicks. I’m truly looking forward to hearing what you have to say.

Please, don’t hold back. I don’t want you to whisper sweet nothings about how you’re going to win. No. I want you to scream about the pain and suffering you believe you will inflict upon me. I’m not some generic Mexican fall guy. And I’m certainly going to show up. So please, I implore you to lay it all on me.

He’s leaning dangerously forward. How he hasn’t fallen forward will become one of those unexplained things in life. Not to be confused with unsolved mysteries. I mean maybe on a later season if they were really reaching?

Marf: Oh my dear Ash Quinn, it is a shame you were disappointed your last go round. But I assure you, I will do anything but disappoint. I will be there. I’m not really sure what my status is with Germany but it’s probably fine. I think it’ll be fine. You know what, it’s fine.

But if I do recall correctly; which I often don’t, I believe I saw a light go out in an eye in Germany. If I recall, I certainly witnessed a human being perish in Germany, I’m sure of it...

... Remember...

Marf leans back in the chair which triggers a cry of protest through creak. His eyes have glazed over at this point for about thirty seconds before he blinks himself back to reality.

Marf: No it’s definitely fine. I probably set something up already so I suppose I should pack up. This is really exciting, my XWF debut. Wednesday night Warfare. Against the one and only Ash Quinn as the icing on the cake. Mmm, delicious!

It is easy to tell from those gorgeous blue eyes that Marf is envisioning himself eating an actual cake. Most likely chocolate but who knows, depending on what day of the week he thinks it is maybe he’s actually dreaming of carrot cake. And there it is, he just licked his lips. That cake consuming son of a gun ate some imaginary cake.

Marf: I hope to hear back from you soon, Ash Quinn. I’m ready and waiting. Please don’t keep me waiting too long.

The grin slowly blooms onto his face as he blows a delicate kiss. There’s probably more questions than answers here. I mean, when did the television turn off? Was it ever on to begin with? Is time travel real? Maybe lay on your bed before you go to sleep and ask yourself some of these questions and see what dark back alley type roads your mind takes you. Or don’t.
