New York State of Mind

The limosine rolled down the streets of Manhatten. Long, white, and double stretch. It was a sight to be seen, for sure.

The blue and white swirling lights could be seen from inside the limo through the heavily tinted windows. Music could be heard from the inside. Savage had ended, Chris Chaos had been victorious, and Jenny Myst had been--in his eyes--"successful" in her first gig as special ref. She had raised Chris's hand in victory---he STILL hadn't been pinned cleanly since AUGUST--and she looked damn good doing it.

Sitting in the back of the super stretch, Chris had an arm around Jenny and the two had champagne glasses in hand.

"You did a good job", Chris said, sipping from the glass. "I had faith in you the entire time. How are your ribs feeling?"

Jenny winced a little, having taken an accidental spear in the match.

"They are a little sore, but I will be fine by Savage. I heard I have a match."

"And you will win that too. I've tussled with Ravenwolf, and that bitch is crazy, but I have something up my sleeve."

They both sip the high-priced liquid. Chris has paid the chouffer to drive around New York, no real destination in mind, and if they decided to stop for a drink he would let him know.

There was plenty of reasons to celebrate. Chris was changing the entire landscape of the XWF, a goal he had set for himself when he first inked his contract. He had half this roster eating out of his palm, but he was only one man. He needed a little help sometimes, it was only human nature. Nobody is perfect, but Chris is as close as you can get. Chris was going to shake Warfare to it's very core. He was going to shake the XWF to its very core this week. He had plans, as usual, and these plans would mold the landscape for years to come.

Chris was the ultimate opportunist. He was the man who pulled the strings. If he wanted something, it got done. Maybe not on the first try, but it got done.

This week he teamed with the creepy Tidbits. The same man who he had allowed to kidnap Jenny to lure Reno in, and then allowed Reno to take credit for setting it up. Jenny wasn't sure about this match, but she would be at ringside. And Chris assured her all would be fine. He wouldn't let Tidbits harm her again.

.....Tidbits wouldn't be harming anyone again.

New York does things bigger and better. It is the largest city in the country, and one of the largest cities in the world. There was nothing that you couldn't find in Manhattan. Some of the biggest events in history have happened in NYC, and why stop that trend now? If the wrestling world was going to change forever, it only made sense that it happened in the media capital of the world. Millions of eyes would be on this special, modified Warfare event. Only three matches. This was an event where what he had planned wouldn't get bogged down with a lot of hooplah like on Savage. It wouldn't have other "big names" competing and making history. Hell, besides AX3, the biggest name at this show is Peter Gilmour and Chris took him down a few pegs. Chris was the reason people didn't give a shit about him anymore. The tag match was a real treat. Caedus and Graves vs. Him and Tidbits? Hell, this was Pay Per View caliber stuff. Jefferson had really stepped up to the plate this time. Jefferson wanted to compete with Kato, and these were the kind of special, niche events he needed to book. For years Warfare was the premiere show......

Now.....

Whatever show Chris Chaos decided to give the time of day to was the premiere show. Whatever show Chris decided was worthy of his time.

Right now, it was Warfare, next week, it would be Savage.

"Hey man, take us down by the park. Jenny and I may stop into BUTTER for a drink."

The driver nodded.

Chris refilled the glasses, and the two toasted. Bruce had stayed in Florida. Chris claimed he could handle it and the old man couldn't make all these trips anymore. Though, he would be in Boston on Saturday to see Chris eviscerate Cadryn Tiberus inside of a demonic cage.

"It's New York, it's big time. This is the moment when I rise to power. This is the moment where I become the true supreme being in the XWF. There is a reason I am ABOVE the Universal Champion in Paul Heyman's power rankings...it is not a coincidence. I go into this match as the man who not only won the Universal Title after only three months on the roster, held it with two successful defenses and a screwjob, but I become the man who took down AX3. I give them a reality check. I change them forever. I show AX3 what they have been missing, an element of Chaos that very few have seen. I show AX3 what a true apex predator looks like. When I am done, they will be kneeling before me as I go on to my next quest, the Universal Championship coming back to where it truly belongs.

As for this week. I have a little something up my sleeve to ensure that AX3 will NEVER be the same again".

The car pulled up to the historic and prestigious BUTTER restaurant. Chris and Jenny stepped out and immediately flashbulbs began to go off.

Damn It Felt Good To Be At The Top.
