We fade in on Johnathan on the phone with his sister, Syndi Heart, who had just recently told him that she managed to snag a job at the XWF. Johnathan is in a full blown panic after hearing that his sister not only had a job at this federation, but also acquired one without consulting him about it first. The conversation seems to have started long before the Cambot started recording, as the speech that can be picked up at the moment is heavily muffled. It takes a little bit for the drone to recognize that the words coming out of him and the phone are English, but it's able to find that out in time to get the meat of the conversation.
"Why didn't you tell me about this?"
"I just thought it'd be a nice surprise, you know? Brother and sister in the same federation once again, just like the older days."
"But in the older days, nobody in the federations were fucking murderers that threatened to rape you in your sleep! They're dangerous and they'll have no problems trying to take out members of anyone's family just to make a quick statement. Please, think about this, Syndi."
"You think if I just found that out, I would've taken the job?"
"Syndi, I know you, and yes, you would've."
"Well...you're right, I still would have. The only difference is that I wouldn't have gone for the job I nabbed when it was offered."
"What did you accept, out of all positions?
"I became a member of security, Johnny. You'll see me at ringside holding back the fans that try to hop into the ring or anyone going fuckshit crazy."
This doesn't calm the knight down much, if at all. Instead, it just appears to make everything worse.
"Please tell me you're joking."
"No, I'm not joking. Why, is me getting this job just another problem that you have with me?"
Johnathan runs a hand through his hair before talking to his sister some more.
"Syndi, listen to me on this. I've seen what those people are able to do in the shows, and they haven't done jack except get themselves killed. If you end up showing up for work tomorrow, I want you to know that you're going to die and I can't do shit to help you!"
Beat.
"Johnny, quit trying to fucking scare me out of this opportunity!"
"Sis, listen to me-"
"No, Johnathan, I've heard enough of your attempts to keep me away from being in the wrestling business. All I want to do is see my brother in that ring, giving the crowd their money's worth, and you're trying to scare me off with bullshit that I already know! I watch the shows on television, John. I know exactly what I'm getting myself into when I signed up for this job and nothing you say can scare me away from it."
The knight looks like he's about to object, but finds that he has nothing to say to her. Defeated, Johnathan sighs and says absolutely nothing, knowing that when his sister has her sights set on something, nothing will sway her from what she wants.
"Johnny? Are you still there or did you hang up on me again?"
"...No sis, I'm still here."
"Well good. For a second there, I thought you might've hung up on me because you heard something you didn't like."
"Oh shut up with that, will you?"
His sister can be heard chuckling on the receiver.
"Say, can you tell me who offered you the job in the first place?"
"What for?"
"Just to get you and your employer better acquainted with each other. Nothing wrong with that, right?"
"No, I guess there isn't. Urm...."
Johnathan waits as absolutely no noise is being made on the other side of the phone.
"I don't think I was given the name of my employer. Even if I was, I don't have it memorized or written down. Sorry, Johnathan, but you're out of luck there."
The knight curses to himself, not getting to know who had the bright idea to bring his sister into the mix.
"Alright, I just had to ask. I'll let ya get back to whatever you're doing while I work on a promo."
"You go ahead and do that. Love ya, Johnathan."
"Alright, love ya too, sis. Bye."
Johnathan hangs up the phone and looks up at the Cambot.
"Oh what? You never said 'I love you' to a family member before? It's more common than you think."

"I'll probably be heading over to Warfare when I found out Madness became the training grounds for all the fresh faces that have been coming in here as of late. For now, however, I might as well address my opponent, who managed to duct tape her mouth shut for a large majority of the week. Kudos for doing so, by the way. Maybe you realized that not all women are supposed to be in the wrestling ring in the first place. I mean, not everyone can be like Trish Stratus, Lita, Gail Kim, or pretty much any woman in Japan. If you're looking to make it big, you'll either have to dance on the pole or work for the WWE."
"Let's see what's known about you, miss. Your name is Avery Rodriguez, I usually hear Avery associated with men, but there's a first for everything, I guess. You're a bit of a hothead. I bet telling you that you shouldn't be a wrestler made that fuse of yours even shorter. And you appear to hate being told what to do and when to do it."
The knight is seen chuckling to himself.
"In any sort of job, stage of life, or household, you kinda have to be told exactly what to do, how to behave, what's right and wrong, and to respect positions of authority. Do you think you're better than everyone else because you're in the ring and you belong to one of the most lawless federations in wrestling? Guess what, you still have to respect the authority of the managers who pay you, take you under their wing, and give you unbelievable opportunities for cash and title belts because they believe that you can win, even if you don't."
"Maybe you don't understand me. Understandable, English probably isn't your first language and you've probably muted the television by this point to come up and write down some clever and witty retort. I'll just go ahead and speak in Spanish for you. Maybe then I'll get this through to you."
He clears his throat.
"Te quejas de gente que no esté en el partido y centrarse en el problema real; me pone abajo de los tres."
He chuckles some more.
"This is what wrestling and living in southern California teaches you, ladies and gentlemen! Leave your tips in the jar. Except for you, Avery. Your money won't do shit to soften the ass-beating you're going to receive by my hand. And if it were, you'll still find yourself down and crying for someone, anyone to pick you up and tell you that you're still loved."
"Nos vemos en el ring, que tonta mujer. Cambot."
BEEP BEEP.
"Apagar."
The Cambot complies. Even though it's still a prototype model, it's able to understand English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Mandarin. The scene cuts to black.
