We arrive at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. This hospital is all too familiar for Agony. This is where it all began.
Agony: "I know this place, but I don't know why. This is it, isn't it?
I've never felt this before. This fear that I feel can't help but be drowned out by my happiness of being here.
This feeling is unmistakable, I'm home."
Agony is standing before the hospital that has haunted him for all these years.
Agony: "I can't do this. I need to leave now.
No! I can't turn back now, I have to do this. I have to find out what's wrong with me!
These lapses in my memory, what do they mean? What's happening to me?
...No, no stay away from me, I don't want to remember!"
Agony tries to block these thoughts that consume him. He can't forget what happened to him here. Agony loses control and begins to recall what happened.
*Flashback begins*
Agony is laying in a hospital bed, battered and broken, eyes struggling to stay open, when a doctor walks in.
Doctor: "Kyle are you there? Can you hear me? Raise your right hand if you can."
Kyle tries to raise his right hand but he can't seem to lift it. The doctor can see that he's trying with all of his might to raise his hand and cuts him off.
Doctor: "Good you can hear me. Can you speak Kyle?"
Kyle digs deep and finds the strength to make the words.
Kyle: "...Yes doctor..."
Doctor: "Great, I am Dr. Roberts, I operated on you a couple of days ago. You were pretty banged up. How are you feeling Kyle?"
Kyle: "...Not so hot doc, I feel like I got hit by a semi-truck."
Dr. Roberts: "Well you're not far off. You were in an accident Kyle, on I-95. A head on collision with another car. Does this ring any bells?"
Kyle: "No, how did the accident happen doc?"
Dr. Roberts: "Well actually, I was hoping you could shed some light on the accident to be quite honest. From the medical reports it seems you lost control of the car and somehow drifted over the median that separates I-95 South and North and into the oncoming traffic. The toxicology reports came back today Kyle, there weren't any drugs in your system. We think you fell asleep at the wheel son."
Kyle: "I'm sorry, I wish I could remember what happened doc."
Dr. Roberts: "You're quite lucky Kyle, most people don't survive accidents like this. When the EMTs found you, you were over 50 feet away from the accident itself. You had been hurled through the windshield at 70 mph and landed on the shoulder of I-95, thankfully, out of harm's way. You weren't exactly in the best of shape when they brought you to me. Luckily they brought you to me and not that hack Dr. Kauder. I was able to repair the fractures to your arms, legs, and nose and stop the internal bleeding. I however couldn't repair the fracture to the frontal bone on your forehead. Though it was only a hairline fracture so it should heal on its own. It doesn't seem like you've sustained any damage to your brain. With a little rehab and some rest you should be fine. That's the good news."
Kyle: "So I'm okay, what's the bad news doc?"
Dr. Roberts: "The bad news Kyle, is that you weren't alone in the car that night."
