WRESTLER'S INFORMATION

In-Ring Name: Cambyses

Wrestler's Real Name: Cambyses "Cam" Jordan

Nicknames: Cam (personal), The Achaemenid Eagle

New to XWF or a returning roster member?: New wrestler, returning handler

Wrestler Date of Birth: March 3, 1992 (27 years old)

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 218 lbs

Hometown: San Francisco, CA

Alignment (Face/Heel/Tweener): Face-ish. He is somewhat cocky, a bit of a showoff and pragmatic when the situation calls for it, but he's a decent person.

Personality: Out of the ring, Cam is pretty easy-going and approachable- although there is certainly some background seriousness to him that flits through on occasion and bubbles to the surface. He's still trying to reconcile some of his unique lineage as a member of a millennia-old order with the life of a young American.

In-ring, while still inexperienced, Cambyses seems to make up for it with a confidence that stops just shy of cockiness, but definitely has showmanship written all over it.

Looks Description: Cambyses is tallish, with an athletic build (think along the lines of Seth Rollins). He's been described as looking vaguely Mediterranean, with light tan/olive skin and green eyes. His hair is brown and buzzed short on the back and sides, and a bit longer at the top in the classic crew-cut. He still looks quite youthful, mid to late twenties, and would probably fall into the classically handsome view in the public eye.

Ring Gear: He wears long tights, typically royal blue with gold trim (although white/blue, red/gold and white/gold are other options) fitted with a wrap hanging down the front (think the tights the Ascension wear). The wrap usually has the eagle of the Achaemenid Empire on it. He also has black elbowpads and boots that match his clothes.

Entrance Gear: In addition to his usual gear, he wears a long royal blue cape that falls down to his mid-calf.

Ethnicity: 'Mediterranean'. As far as he's let on, Cam has Persian, Turkish and Greek ancestry.

Strengths:
All-Rounder - Cambyses hasn't dedicated himself to a particular style, so can usually modify his approach on the fly depending on whether he's dealing with a larger or smaller approach.
Good Condition - Cambyses started wrestling later in life, which means he has yet to acquire the damage most wrestlers take in their early career. This means he's likely to still be able to perform well.

Weaknesses:
Inexperience - Cambyses has never wrestled anywhere prior to the XWF. As a result while talented he still has a lot to learn about ring psychology and backstage politics.
Limited Submission Moveset - Outside of the Fall of Babylon, he doesn't have any other submission holds. This means that if a wrestler can work a way out of the Fall, winning by submission won't be easy for him.

Entrance Theme Music: "Believer" by Myrath

Special Entrance (if any): The metal and Eastern fusion of "Believe" by Myrath bursts out over the arena, and the battle standard of the Achaemenid Eagle appears on the X-Tron as Cambyses steps out onto the entrance ramp, a calf-length blue cape trailing behind him. He raises both arms up above his head and links them together as blue and yellow pyro blasts go off around, then poses with two finger-guns aimed directly ahead of him and heads down the ramp at a confident stride, blue and yellow searchlights washing over him. At the foot of the ring he darts for the apron and slides under the bottom rope, coiling back and springing to his feet with his arms spread back, the crowd cheering as he does so. He moves backwards to the corner, then climbs up to the turnbuckle.

Favorite Hardcore Attacks/Spots: Cambyses has taken a liking to the use of tonfa batons, which he tends to dual-wield in a hardcore situation. Failing that, he'll pretty much use anything he can get his hands on.

Taunts:In addition to moves, Cambyses has a number of signature taunts/poses he likes to use:

Finger Guns: In the style of AJ Styles/Kenny Omega from their NJPW days. Uses both the two-guns arms outstretched version and the single-gun point-and-shoot style

Take Off: Usually used before either a turnbuckle dive or a high-speed running attack, Cambyses hops, stands rigid with his head craned up and jerks his arms backward and stretched behind him as if to emulate wings.[/b]

The Immortal: Cambyses smacks his fist against his chest in the style of an ancient soldier's salute.

Additional notes:
Cambyses Jordan is a second-generation US citizen, born in San Francisco to an American father and a Turkish immigrant mother. His upbringing was that of your classic American citizen for most of his life, growing up in San Francisco. He was a decent athlete, average student and generally his life was fairly uninteresting, taking up a string of fairly unremarkable bartending and bouncing jobs as a young man.

But there is a secret side to this young man’s history if his family are to be believed. According to his parents, he is in fact descended from an ancient lineage going back millennia, to a bodyguard of the legendary King Cyrus of Persia in the 6th Century BC. He had usually written this off as something of a flight of fancy until two years ago, when he was approached at his bar by a woman named Lucy Richards - the younger sister of Talia Richards, friend to X-Treme Wrestling Federation alumni Steve Jason and John Gambino. She now represented a corporation named Cayman Global, which had purchased the Richards Conglomerate on the death of Lucy and Talia's father.

She confirmed his parents' fantastical stories were in fact true, and Cayman had in fact taken an interest in his unique lineage- and had suggested that ancient Persia wasn't the only place his ancestry had been of note, and that indeed, a whole order of ancestors existed in his lineage. They informed him that it was time to discover his 'true potential', and provided him with the contact details of a trainer who they had paid to train him in the art of combat. This was sure to come with a price, and it took Cam some time to warm to the idea, but eventually the young man's drive for adventure and excitement overtook him.

The rest, they said, would become apparent in time.

Recurring Side-Characters

Lucy Richards: Talent agent with a large corporation known as Cayman Global. Recruited Cam and arranged for his contract and appears to be at least somewhat in the loop as to his lineage. Does not accompany Cambyses to the ring, but serves a role similar to an agent/manager. Portrayed by Emily VanCamp.
