"The Mad Dog" Chris Valley: "My name is Chris Valley. But you can, and will, refer too me as The Mad Dog, Chris Valley."

These few words meant a lot, I could feel it. This had been the big day accordin' too the Warden. Turns out he wanted to track my progress as best he could without being too "in", so on my way out of the joint, I got a cell with his number in it. Sure, I can go wherever I want, but as time goes on, this might be a pain in the ass. I was told I'd be doing "promos" on guys I was eventually gonna clobber in the ring, I'd much rather get it done and over with, but I wasn't too against the idea. In school, I was a sharp-tongued kid with a bad attitude, so this seemed up my alley. When I got off the plane, I took a taxi to the show, backstage I sat on a chair, looking at a camera. Some guys in the back took a look at me when I got in the building, I could see some had doubt, some had a smile, and others... well, had their eye on me in ways I don't wish to discuss. Back too the point, this was it, promo time. I'd been told some poor fuck named Benny was the first victim, was shown he was talkin' some shit, and now was the time to give him my two cents.

"The Mad Dog" Chris Valley: "Who, or what, exactly is the Mad Dog? Simple... I'm just a guy. Just a normal guy that wants to kick some ass, collect his pay, and go home for the day. That in itself is what makes me stand out. Ya see, I look around that big roster full of names, I won't drop any said names, but let me tell you, there's a lot of fuck-ups, freaks, and egotistical pricks."

This felt, natural. This felt like somethin' meaningful. I could tell some of the backstage crew watching me saw what I was going for, they weren't impressed, but they nodded for me to continue. I kept my cool, looked down at the floor, and rubbed my hands.

"The Mad Dog" Chris Valley: "Too me, that's a problem. Because in the end, that bullshit you identify as is nothing more than a mask to hide your weakness. Sure, some of you are freaks by nature, some of you are perverts by nature too... I get it. But it doesn't intimidate me. If anything, it just puts me in a familiar spot. See, for the last few years, I haven't had all sunshine and rainbows like some of you. I've been confined to being less of a Mad Dog, and more of someone's bitch. None of you will understand how that feels until you step into that ring with me."

I turned my head to look at the camera once again, I could tell some of the backstage crew were a bit more impressed with me, not that I needed their approval.

"The Mad Dog" Chris Valley: "Benny... oh Benny, I couldn't give less of a fuck about you. Know why? Because I don't know a thing about you. I don't care either. I have no remorse, and the less I know about you, the easier it is for me to dish out this beating. You, on the other hand, seem to think you're hot shit like you know somethin' about me right?... Heh, you're nothing but the tutorial too this big game I'm getting ready to play. If there's anything I hate in this world more than anything else, it's guys like you. I ain't scared of you, a matter of fact- you're nothing but a comedy act. It'll be my pleasure, too curbstomp your mouth, take a tooth, and wear it as a symbol for anyone else that wants too mess with me."

I could tell my time was almost up by a nod, and a producer saying "use a catchphrase". I was about ready too stand up and punch the guy in the throat.. but I thought about it, something trademark wouldn't hurt.

"The Mad Dog" Chris Valley: "When you hear the sounds of your bones break, and the gurgle of blood in your throat, know that you've walked through the Valley, and you will walk through the Valley, never a-gain."

I stared at the camera for a long time after that, I could tell they shut it off. Some producers shook their head, a few discussed what could've been improved, and I felt like they could stick their dicks into their own assholes, I did the job I was asked, and was damn proud. I could tell I outdid the Benny kid, and from here on out, all that was left was the beating.

"Every dog's got his day."
