Jeff Fairfield, along with the inlfuence of Rena Lesnar, has pushed Brock into doing some media work for his upcoming match against the official XWF King of the Ring in Doctor Louis D'ville. On a Saturday evening, November 8th to be exact, Brock is a few miles near his home working hard in his private gym alongside his former UFC training partners. One could argue he's beginning to spark a comeback in the UFC now that his fight with diverticulitis has come to a halt.
Jeff Fairfield has been working around the clock to make Brock happy since he sees the draw power he has in every show he's on. He not only pushes for the XWF to work on special videos on Brock, but also makes sure ESPN and Sportscenter do some specials on him as well. Why not?
During the break of his session doing some cardio drills, his wife comes to the gym to inform her husband a few of the media crews are here. They walk in the gym and shake everyone's hands. Of course, most of them are familiar with some of the ESPN and Sportscenter people. They began to share fun stories and have a fun time while the crews setup cameras.
Tom Farrey, who is going to be interviewing Brock for ESPN, walks by and sits on the ground next to him to go over some questions prior to actually taping. Following the twenty minute talk, they inform everyone that they are ready to begin.
Brock sits in front of the cameras still sweating with Tom sitting across from him.
TOM FARREY "Here I am sitting down with quite a phenom in the sports world. You've wrestled and been on top in the WWE. You then went to try out for the Minnesota Vikings. You moved on to the UFC and quickly became a hit, as well as becoming the heavyweight champion. Now, you work on a part-time basis for the WWE and XWF. You've been labeled as a freak of nature by Vince McMahon, Triple H, Paul Heyman, Dana White, and many more. What do you say to all this fame?"
BROCK LESNAR "I'm Brock Lesnar. It's pretty damn simple."
TOM FARREY "Some would call you a gimmick. You're big. You're quick. But some may say, 'so are a lot of other guys.' What makes you different from the rest of the pack?"
BROCK LESNAR "You said it when you opened up the interview. Who else has done all that? Paul coined a phrase that I conquer everything. I'm a wrestling champion in college. I'm a professional wrestling champion in two companies. I'm a former UFC heavyweight champion. Some would stick to one place. I went everywhere and conquered. I didn't need a name change. I didn't need a gimmick. I brought myself to the table and this is what happened. It's pretty simple why I'm better than the rest and why I stand out."
TOM FARREY "While you've done many interviews about the past, let's look at now. Let's look to your next official in-ring match for a company called XWF. It's Wednesday evening against a man by the name of .... Doctor Louis D'ville?"
BROCK LESNAR "Before I get to that, let me make a few things clear to those in the XWF. Ever since I arrived I hear people say that I can't talk. They tell me I'm big and dumb. Just because I choose not to run my damn mouth every chance I get doesn't mean I can't. Hell, I graduated a tough college. To remain on the wrestling team you had to keep up grades. These dummies see me for 2 years on a sports entertainment show like WWE and come to a conclusion I can't talk for myself. I'm big so I can't talk. Well, here I am ... talking. I hate people who talk all this shit like they've done something with their life, and when it comes time to put up they back into a corner or make excuses. I lost a few matches in the UFC. You know who likes to remind me of that? Guys who haven't been there. Guys who couldn't do what I did there. It's guys who deep down wish they could have done what I did, but instead of doing something about it they just and talk shit. A keyboard gangster. It's a damn joke."
TOM FARREY "In the XWF, and WWE I guys you have to be entertaining to some degree. I guess it's why people wouldn't associate you as a talker since you're mostly a fighter."
BROCK LESNAR "You're damn right I'm a fighter. There are those who talk and those who fight. Everyone knows which one I am. I'm know for fighting, not entertainment. But can I entertain? I have people talking about me all the time. I can entertain and I can fight, but I'm known for fighting while the rest are known for entertainment. "
TOM FARREY "There is some element of entertainment that comes with the fighting business, right?"
BROCK LESNAR "Sure. If you see two people fight, then you can be entertained without a word spoken or interview being done. Everything is entertainment to the right eye. I'm entertained beating people up. I think when people talk about entertainment, they mean things like charismatic on the mic or flashy. If you want that, then go watch a movie. If you want to see a fight, then turn on to watch Brock Lesnar. "
TOM FARREY "Which brings us to the main reason for the interview really, your opponent. Some say he's unstoppable and on a role."
BROCK LESNAR "People told me I would get my ass kicked by Randy Couture even though I was twice his size because I came from the entertainment world. I beat his ass. People thought the Undertaker would remain undefeated. I beat his ass. People thought Shane Carwin was going to beat me after the first round. I choked him out. I hear opinions all the time, but it's never stopped me. Someone told me he had a few things to say about me as well as a friend of his. He mentioned a few losses. I'm pretty sure everyone has lost a time or two, so I'm not sure his point."
TOM FARREY "Your opponent said, and I'm quoting, 'Guest seems to thinking anytime he makes an appearance here in the XWF, whether months have past since his last or days, he deserves everything on a silver platter.'"
BROCK LESNAR "Silver platter. Like I said, people to talk all this shit about me don't know a thing about me. Go watch the WWE video on me and it'll tell you a brief story of where I lived and what I did as a boy. Working on a farm in a small town is a silver platter? I worked my ass off to get to where I am. Why should I fight five people in one night when I've already done plenty. Tell me, who knows D'ville and who knows Brock Lesnar. People pay to see me, not him. I don't have to fight. I don't have to be here. I'm here because the XWF wanted me. I'm here because they paid me for limited dates. A damn fool wouldn't take it. He wants to pout because someone pissed in his cornflakes Monday. I didn't send some guy named Luke after him. The smart doctor just forgot that I was announced the week prior I was in the tournament. It's not like I came out as a surprise. It was announced a week in advance. Like I said, I have nothing against the guy but to blame me for him losing at the end of the night is just nonsense. He lost. Move on. Take it like a man. Instead, he wants to get revenge. Fine. He'll get to see first hand who Brock Lesnar is. I'm not going to hurt him. I'm going to destroy him. I'm not afraid you or any man or thing on this planet. Spook others but all you do is make me laugh. Tom, Doc is your entertainment. He is what people would look to as entertaining. Wednesday, it's the fighter verses the entertainer. It's the boy who sits behind a desk and makes claims verses a man who works in the field. One runs his mouth and the other is full of action. I'm a former XWF Trio Champion, and now I'm the King of the Ring whether he likes it or not. It is what it is and there isn't a damn thing he, or anyone else can do about it. It's that simple."
TOM FARREY "Brock, I want to thank you for your time. I look forward to doing a few more of these in the future and good luck to you on Wednesday."
BROCK LESNAR "Anytime. Thank you."
Brock gets up and starts doing some more training while ESPN, Sportscenter, and XWF take pictures and video clips of the sessions.
