Several months ago I won a 24/7 briefcase, since then it has sat on a shelf collecting dust. Waiting for the right moment to be dusted off and used at the expense of some poor unsuspecting schmuck. Or, Eli James since apparently briefcases are attracted to Eli James like he's attracted to fried chicken and cholesterol.

Since I won the briefcase the race has been on to figure out the particulars of an expected cash in. The proverbial who, what, when and where of it all. And to be honest i was perfectly happy letting the briefcase sit on the shelf collecting dust the way LH Harrison collects losses.

And then Shades happened. Or more to the point, the long forgotten hero Angelus returned and with him his own briefcase and the right to to steal a title.

Now Shades, I know you are watching this, you seem to have a hard on for everything I do and say, so please, don't get your panties in a wad because I said steal a title. But let's not kid ourselves either. You stole that title. Everyone who cashes in a briefcase steals the title from the person they cash in on. And that's perfectly fine. That's the right of everyone who has won a briefcase. Whether it's Sid Feder, Kendall Sawyer, Scorpio twice, Mark Flynn, John Austin, Luca Arzegotti, Sebastian Duke and lastly Shades himself. You cash in, you are stealing a title. You want to justify your reign? Win a title defense. And that's where it gets both difficult and fun.

That's what separates the undeserving from the true champions.

And while we are on the subject of true champions let's talk about Shades for a little bit.

Earlier in the week I said that I would and now seems like as good a time as any.

Shades, Angelus, Angel Eyes, Guy who made Eli cry in his bowl of grits, your attack on part time wrestlers is as much amusing as it is hypocritical.

You, the man who went at it hard for a month or two and then vanished from the face of the Earth.

You, who surrounds yourself with other part timers like Crimson Face and Evertrust.

Seems to me that you don't mind part timers so long as they rally behind your cause.

And what exactly is your cause?

To make the Universal Title more prominent by vowing to defend it weekly as opposed to monthly which has pretty much become the defacto rule for titles?

Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate what you are trying to do. It's nice and all, and I can certainly see the merit in trying to go that route. It would obviously make rallying people behind you rather easy if you promise to give them a title shot.

However...

Going by your logic the X-treme title should be the most prominent title in the fed because it's defended daily and yet the X-treme title isn't the most prominent title in the fed is it? No, instead it's become a disgrace. The title that guys who never have a match can win. A title that guys can buy with various micro transactions. A title people burn up or shit all over.

So if you could Shades I would love to get your thoughts on why that is. Why is it that according to you a more frequently defended title should equal prominence and yet the title that in theory should be the be all end all is nothing more than something people scoff at?

You don't have to respond now if you don't want to. I know your focus is on Peter Gilmour and Eli James. I surely wouldn't want to be any more of a distraction for you than I already have been.

You know, with you so sure that I am going to cash in my briefcase tomorrow night that you've tried your hardest to rally everyone on the roster to help your cause. Promising title shots, money, I bet you offered up your first born didn't you?

I don't blame you though. It would be amusing to see someone be the victim of a cash in only a few weeks after cashing in themselves. Some might call that karma, I'd settle for funny.

But more to the point, have you been able to rally everyone behind you? I know I saw an email or two regarding helping you out. I wonder how that happened?

I guess you'll have to ask yourself just how trustworthy some of these folks are. If what they are telling you to your face is really their intentions or if it's all just for show.

Perhaps all your attempts at ensuring you walk out of Warfare as the Universal Champion are for naught?

Maybe you won't even win your match and then it won't matter?

Or maybe your "friends" aren't really your "friends"?

Or, and I know this one is probably a long shot but maybe just maybe I never had any intention of cashing in on you?

Did that thought ever cross your mind?

I'm guessing the answer is no since you were pretty quick to jump down my throat the second I asked Management to book me on tomorrows card.

You quickly assumed that I had every intention of cashing in on you. The emails started going out. The phones lit up. The Help Wanted posters started appearing at grocery stores and telephone polls all over the place.

But what if....what if I did that just to see how high you would jump?

What if I continue to ask for matches on each and every card you ask to be booked on just to see what you will do?

Don't think that just because I choose to wrestle once a month doesn't mean I can't wrestle more often. My contract only stipulates that I wrestle once a month and that's what I get paid for. If I wrestle 2 or 3 or 4 or 10 times a month I still get paid the same. So yeah, I take the easy way out because why not?

But I am curious, once I start opting in for each and every show you do, I wonder how long everyone that you've enlisted to help you out will continue to do so when they see no benefit for themselves.

You see all your promises were contingent on people helping you successfully defend against a cash in. But what if that cash in never comes, then what?

No need to waste your time thinking about it.

I'll tell you exactly what will happen.

All those people who offered you their time and effort will get bored and move on.

You see that's the thing about people, they are greedy by nature. No one does anything for free. No one.

So by all means, rally the troops, call the la Policia, maybe even the Cartel's. They are always willing to help out, for a nominal fee of course. But make sure you pay them. Wouldn't want to see ole Angel Eyes become Angel Eye with the Eye Patch.

Or...

You could take sand out of your female cavity and do the heavy lighting on your own?

No, no you wouldn't want to do that would you?

A cash in is only allowed if it's Shades doing it isn't that right?

Maybe I will make a promise right here and now that if everyone aids me in a cash in that I will agree to have a fatal four way every single week with the title on the line?

That means that three people get a crack at the title instead of just the one you have so far offered.

How about that Shades?

How about that XWF roster?

Do you still want to be Shades lapdogs now?

Of course that would all be contingent on me actually cashing in which as far as Shades and his band of merry men are concerned is a sure thing.

But what if it's not?

The clock is counting down to zero hour.

I guess we can all find out together exactly what my plans are.

Or, you can take this at face value that no matter what my plans are, whether it's to cash in tomorrow or the next week or the next week or to never cash in at all, that no matter what, there is nothing you Shades or any of the people you enlisted to help you can do about it because I promise you this.

When the time comes for a cash in, you won't be able to stop it.

I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
