Talia had a hard time adjusting to everything, she had made it to Seattle after taking the road trip and taking time to take it all in. She wasn’t able to forget about it and well she was left in Jay’s Home whilst he was in Australia. She was pretty much left on her own and it wasn’t good for her to be especially in this state. She had been stuck inside majority of the time but she actually decided to sign a contract and finally decided to come out of retirement Talia need to get her mind off everything she was feeling and it was the only way for her to not think about things. Being signed to XWF was a blessing in the making and she was ready to take anyone on. She was seen inside the basement where Jay had kept all his equipment for his training. She was pretty much looking around the place for something to do. She knew that his basement was filled with equipment. Making her way down the stairs and into the basement she looks around at the place. She loved watching Jay in here before he had flown out to Australia but now she was on her own. She was pretty sad about it but it gave her chance to have some alone time, As she walked down towards where the treadmill was. She stood on there and pressed the button so it would start, As she began to walk. Her feet touching it with ease. Her mind was only on one thing and one thing only but that had to change dramatically. Her mind had to be focused on one thing and that is her return to the ring, come this monday Night she will be back in action and thats the only thing that should be on her mind right now, pressing the button to make it go a little faster as she began to pick up the pace. She was now getting into her focus and zone she now only had one thing on her mind. She wasn’t going to stop until she knew she was ready. Pushing herself more and more as she once again pushed the button to pick up the pace now this time she was moving that little bit quicker moving her arms with each step focusing on one thing in front of her. She knew she could get this training done since no one was about.
Except she wasn’t as alone as she thought that she was. The basement had been pretty well sound proofed, otherwise she would have heard Jay come in upstairs. He hadn’t exactly been quiet about it, calling out her name and then wandering around the upstairs aimlessly. He was about to give up when he saw that door leading to the basement ajar. As she kept notching up the speed of the treadmill, he posted up on the stairs behind her, content just to watch. His trip to Australia didn’t go as planned, he doubt that she knew that, or had even watched, or at least he hopes she hadn’t. She had other things on her mind. The determination showed in the way she was carrying herself. A smile crosses his lips, and he moves down the rest of the stairs as silently as possible. He had gotten the treadmill specifically for sprinting, the belt design was therefore long enough for two, possibly even three people to run on it if they were careful enough. However, he had never actually gotten around to using it as a practical joke until now. He moves around behind her, tracking the speed of the belt with his eyes and then leaping up once he felt confident that he could match the pace.
- | JHALC | -
WHAT ARE WE RUNNING AWAY FROM?!?!?!?!
He wanted to surprise her, and got the jump out of her that he wanted. The yell over the sound of the treadmill was probably overdone though, as it boomed and echoed across the basement. As he shouted behind her she jumps a mile causing them both to fall backwards off the treadmill, Both landing on the floor, as she looks over at him, raising her hand as she slapped him on the arm a couple of times.
- | TALIA LEA | -
What the hell are you trying to do, give me a damn heart attack.
She glared at him trying to compose herself from the practical joke he just played on her. He rolled away, holding his side with a grimace on his face. She saw a dotted line of blood start to seep through his white shirt. He rested with his head against the ground for a moment, on all fours.
- | JHALC | -
Seemed like a good idea at the time. Totally starting to regret it now.
He reached around his body and patted at his side, pulling his fingers away and seeing the blood for himself.
- | JHALC | -
Yup. Definitely regret it.
She noticed the blood seeping through his shirt, slowly getting to her feet and walking to him. She held out her hand for him to take it. But she could see that he was pretty battered up from his match back in Australia. She knelt down next to him.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Are you ok?
She was worried about him, seeing that amount of blood. She went to lift up his shirt. He didn’t fight her, or rather was in no position to. She raised his shirt up over his head, seeing the line of stitches go up his side, four of which were now freshly torn open.
- | JHALC | -
Take it you didn’t see the match?
She looked at him and then back down at the stitches which were torn open, now she felt bad especially now causing for his wound to bleed again. She didn’t watch his match and well now she was glad that she didn’t. She put his arm around her neck and slowly eased him up to his feet.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Yeah, I didn’t end up watching it. Just so much going on right now. I would have if I wasn’t so caught up in training and looking after Terrance.
Getting back to his feet, he leaned back, wincing and clearly trying not to stretch far enough to cause any more damage. He became painfully aware of his arm around her and pulled away a bit. He tried to shake the feeling off, and did so with a smile.
- | JHALC | -
You didn’t miss much. Took a pretty nasty fall through a table. Didn’t lose though. I guess all is well. It’s been a… painful.. two days.
He half walks, half hobbles around to the front of the treadmill, pulling the killswitch on the panel and turning it off.
- | JHALC | -
So you’re back to training?
Seeing him pull away she could tell he felt a little awkward, but she wasn’t going to let it get to her. She could see he was in pain but what else could she do. Hearing him ask her about going back to training she lightly nodded her head.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Yeah, pretty much been doing it on a daily basis. Like running and then I thought might as well come down here whilst you were away.
She looked at him giving him a small smile. She did kind of feel awkward after he pulled away from her but she also tried to shake that feeling off, thinking about her upcoming match on Monday.
- | JHALC | -
It’ll be good to see you back in action.
He pulled his shirt up over his head, and slid his arms out carefully. There was a little trail of blood now going down his side, it wasn’t anything that he wasn’t used to after five years. He takes the shirt in both hands, then tosses it to a table next to the stairs.
- | JHALC | -
You know we are going to have to get you doing more than just running down here if you really want to have a chance at coming out of retirement.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Is there a First Aid box anywhere?
She was just going to patch it up until he would go get it properly stitched back up. Hearing him say those words about helping her, and being able to have a chance of coming out of retirement. She gave him a smile lightly nodded her head.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Yeah I know I have a very long way to go. But I know I can do this, I might be a little scared or even nervous but I’m more excited.
He laughed.
- | JHALC | -
I remember what it was like coming back. I wasn’t feeling much of anything at all before I signed back with XWA. It was something. I couldn’t wait for it. I’m happy for you.
He looked around the room, surveying the room before continuing in the hopes she wouldn’t pressure him about getting patched up. He didn’t mind the pain of the mess of what used to be his side.
- | JHALC | -
You know I should really get a ring down here. It would probably be pretty helpful.
She looked around the basement, it was pretty much big enough for one to be in there. But she could tell he didn’t want her help so she didn’t pressure him about it. As she walked over to a bench picking up a towel as she put it around her neck and looked at him.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Well congratulations on your victory.
She just smiled as she was about to leave the basement, turning back to face him as she softly spoke.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Thank You..
He looked confused, and for more than one reason.
- | JHALC | -
I never said I won, I just didn’t lose.
It was one of those word games that he was always playing, trying to put a spin on something where one wasn’t needed. If she had watched the match she would have understood, as it was he would just leave her guessing. It was more fun that way.
- | JHALC | -
And what might you be thanking me for?
She always did hate him playing those games with her, but then again she didn’t complain. She was confused also having him playing those word games with her always made her confused, she was naturally blonde after all. She lightly shrugged her shoulders as she softly spoke.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Well you said you were happy for me, so I was just thanking you.
He laughed it off, shaking his head.
- | JHALC | -
That’s nothing to be thanking me for. You would have said the same to me if you were here then. You know I have always been a fan.
She was also a fan of his, but lately she has just been doing her own thing. Trying to forget about the past week or so, She gave him a smile.
- | TALIA LEA | -
You know what I’m like always thanking people when they say such kind words, regardless. And well thank you. I have always been a fan of yours also.
- | JHALC | -
So what do we need down here to get you in shape? I mean if you are going to be staying here for at least a little while, we can make it worthwhile.
He met her eyes, and immediately wished he didn’t. It was hard not to look away. Even after all this time he couldn’t really do it without finding himself lost in them. He really just hoped that she would respond quickly and let him off the hook.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Well I will be leaving on Sunday Night, so I don’t think we have a lot of time but I have done everything I can so far. Maybe it won’t be enough but I can always hope.
She slowly looked away a little as she softly sighed. It was hard for her as well but she was going to have to make it work. He was helping her a huge amount and she was very grateful.
- | TALIA LEA | -
But maybe like you said get a ring in here..
He looked over the room, like he was trying to find a place for it in his head. He nodded, looking in the direction of the far wall. Sure, he would have to move some stuff around, but it could work.
- | JHALC | -
Alright… yea.. I mean, I will be here for the next week or so. I can make that happen. As long as you promise to only wear the bare minimum amount of clothes in it.
He said it, and almost immediately wanted it back. It was hard trying to censor himself around someone he used to just be able to be himself around. Part of him was afraid of what she would say, the other part was hoping she would play along. She couldn’t help but to laugh a little hearing him say that was a typical Jay thing. She knew that it was hard for him so she thought she would just play along with it.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Well you should know how I train, I always wear a bare minimum when training. I mean with such a body like this have to flaunt it a little.
She didn’t mind wearing bare minimum around him. Her training outfit would consist of her wrestling attire, like always and that was pretty much revealing. She turned and looked at him, she was wondering what he was thinking but then she wasn’t sure if she should.
- | JHALC | -
Well then I might have to take some time off work, you know? Just get a lawn chair or something and post up down here to enjoy the show.
He said it with a smile on his face. It was surprising how comfortable he was flirting with her. Three weeks ago, if anyone had asked him, he would have told them that Talia had fallen off the face of the Earth and died on impact. He would have maybe hinted that he didn’t much care either. Since she has come back, it has been different. He expected to be mad, but he couldn’t find it in himself to be. As always, he just wanted the best for her. The rest kind of faded away as long as he kept her out of arm’s reach.
- | JHALC | -
It wouldn’t be a bad way to spend a vacation after all.
She could see that he was flirting with her but she didn’t want to step on his toes regardless her still feeling the exact same way about him, before she left. She couldn’t help but to blush at his comment.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Well It isn’t like I am going to be here for a couple of nights and who knows when I’ll be back. I mean coming out of retirement is going to be big but Anytime you are around and I am here you are more than welcome to watch.
She would be happy for him to watch her work out, It is his basement after all. She gave him a smile, her eyes meeting his once again but then she moved them away as she softly spoke.
- | TALIA LEA | -
You know you should go and get that cleaned up.
She pointed towards his side, she was concerned about him and well she was always going to be. Part of him knew that she would always put his well being ahead of wherever he did. She cared about him in a way that he didn’t care about himself. It didn’t help that he hated doctors, and had for as far back as he cared to remember. A trip to go get stitched back up so quickly after getting home sounded like a pain.
- | JHALC | -
Think you would care to get me patched up? Join me for a trip to have one of the lab coats sew me back together?
Going with her would be better than going alone. At least he wouldn’t be bored. At the same time, it would mean getting closer to her. At the time, it didn’t sound like that bad of an idea. Hearing him asking her if she would go with him meant a lot to her, giving him a smile as she lightly nodded her head.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Sure I don’t mind taking a trip down there with you, would you like me to drive? Or you happy to drive in pain?
She wanted to get closer to him, and spending time with him before she had to leave to go back to California. This was pretty much the perfect time to spend that time with him. She always knew he hated doctors but she was going to be there with him.
- | JHALC | -
You did buy me the car. It’s only fair that you get to drive it.
One of his friends had taken the car not two weeks ago, and he had berated her about nobody actually getting to touch it. Maybe it was because it was something that he and Talia had done together from a happier time. Letting someone else behind the wheel seemed like it shattered that memory. He had no issue with taking a passenger seat to his once fiance though. She had earned that much.
- | JHALC | -
But… you have to promise to patch me up well enough so I am not bleeding all over the place. Don’t want to mess the car up.
It wouldn’t be the first time that she had to clean him up. In this line of work, it is something that happens often. Add that to the fact that he was clumsy, she could have probably made a profession out of it by now. She didn’t really get it, when she asked where the first aid box was he didn’t want her to help him but now he is asking her to, she guessed that he would rather ask for the help instead of her just doing it. It was something she always did regardless. She lightly nodded her head.
- | TALIA LEA | -
Where is the first aid box? I’ll get you cleaned up and then we can make a move. You will have to give me the directions because well I’m still not used to being here and Don’t exactly know where I am going.
She looked around again wondering where the first aid box was, then her eyes met his as she gave him a smile.
- | JHALC | -
I’m sorry.
He said so with a tone of defeat in his voice, but meaning it sincerely. He looked up at her and met her eyes. They were one of the reasons he was first attracted to her and one of the things he wanted to wake up every morning and see. It was almost unfair to have to meet that gaze, and keep his distance. She could tell that he was sorry but all she could do was give him a smile.
- | TALIA LEA | -
You don’t have to be sorry, You have nothing to be sorry for.
It was the truth she knew she had to earn back his trust. And that was something she wanted to do. She was just about to turn to walk up the stairs. He still didn’t tell her where the First Aid box was.
- | TALIA LEA | -
So where is the first aid box? I mean you making a mess down here.
She couldn’t help but to laugh a little as she looked down at the floor where there was blood spots on the floor.
- | JHALC| -
No, I do have something to apologize for. All you have been trying to do is help. You helped me up and I pulled away from you. You’ve asked to help and I blew you off. I don’t know what is wrong with me. It’s like I take a step closer to you and then two steps back. Like there is a voice in the back of my head constantly screaming at me not to let you do anything for me… that I should do it myself… that I am not your problem to deal with anymore. I’m sorry for that.
He pushed himself up and crossed the room to her. He got close to her and raised his arm up in the air, opposite the side now streaming blood. She smiled and stepped towards him, draping his arm around her neck and helping to lead him up the stairs.
- | JHALC | -
Is it bad that I am not entirely sure where this box is? I mean that might be a problem. I’m not even sure it is unpacked yet. We might just have to rig something up.
- | TALIA LEA | -
I understand that you can’t trust me, you’re going to be like and it isn’t going to be easy to trust me again but I am working on it. But look let’s get you upstairs and then I can see the damage and patch you up before we leave. I can rig it some how. But look we can talk about this when we get back.
She helped him up the basement stairs towards the kitchen. She was glad that he was allowing her to help him now. She helped him to the kitchen As she sat him down, looking around for things to use to patch him up. She was there cleaning him up as the scene fades to black.
