VOICE: They say every story has a beginning. Mine is no different.
Out of nowhere a brilliant display of lighting illuminates the sky and standing in what was only a second ago a completely empty downtown New York street is the silhouette of a man.
VOICE: History has given me many names. The Betrayer, The Exile, The Fallen and the Brotherless One. It has been so many centuries since my true name has been spoken that I struggle to remember what it even is.
The silhouette begins moving, slowly, methodically, and clearly with purpose.
VOICE: Many centuries ago I had a home, I had a family, and I had a job. Today, I have none of those things. Today I walk this world because the Great Presence commands that I do so. And so walk this world I will, but I will do it alone because that is my destiny. That is my penance.
The silhouette approaches a part of the street that is dimly lit thanks to a street light, his face visible for the first time.
