Despite being angry at the brutality of Chris Macbeth’s revenge attack on Zak Misery a few weeks back Faith had truly grown close to her man, closer than she had ever been to anybody other than her family. No the attack was not something she enjoyed seeing Macbeth do even though she could understand the reasons for it ,so all she had been doing recently was blocking it out of her memory by asking Macbeth to keep his personal life and wrestling life separate. I don’t wanna see, hear or talk about wrestling.” She had exclaimed to him after the ignition shock of witnessing the attack. Macbeth had agreed to these terms and they had been living blissfully happy together ever since.

Faith diverts her eyes away from the buildings below turning to face the sleeping Macbeth in the seat to the left of her as the Boeing 767’s landing gear shudders into action. Nudging Macbeth to wake him she points up to the fasten seatbelt sign and smiles just as the grumpy stewardess is approaching. She passes by checking there belts a fastened, luckily Macbeth just got his connected whilst she was looking over to the seats opposite thus avoiding the inevitable anger the stewardess would unleash on the pair.

It had been as soon as they got onto the plane the stewardess and shown a bad attitude towards them, Faith had thought it was very unprofessional really, Chris had too but had decided not to push anything that may wind up causing a scene mid flight. Chris had always had a slight fear of flying ever since he was a kid when he watched Labamba for the first time. You see his dad loved the rock and roll of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper, it was all that was ever heard playing out the record player at home. Chris grew to love the music of these late great icons and it was them that had inspired him to become a musician in the first place. Now with them as his idols on the music front and Manchester United being the football team he was brought up to support the fear of flying was inevitable. In 1959 on the 02nd February, Richie, Buddy and Bopper had all died in the plane crash just outside Clear Lake Iowa where they had been performing; this event took place just over a year after the Munich Air disaster that took the lives of many of the Manchester United players collectively known at the time as the Busby Babes. Obviously these events took place long before Chris was born, but the sadness he could see in his fathers eyes when he asked about these events had stayed with him, his father would compare the Busby Babes to the players of Chris’ generation that he would cheer on week in week out for the entire season, Chris would listen intently realising what a tragic event this was, the players that sadly lost there lives that day were legends, icons, just like Buddy, Richie and Bopper a year later, if these legends can be taken away from the world just like that then it must be easier for Chris to be taken as well. So that’s the reason for the fear that Chris has, will he ever get over it, he doesn’t think so.

”Finally!” Chris thought as they plane slowly taxied its way towards the airport terminal, it had been a little rough landing but Chris had done his normal trick of closing his eyes and thinking of... well... anything really, just trying to ignore where he was.

The plane slows to a stop and the fasten seatbelt sign goes out and the inevitable rush of the passengers trying to get to there feet and grab there always oversized hand luggage from the compartments above takes full form. Macbeth just looks at Faith and smiles; she smiles back before sitting back in her chair to wait for some of the crowed to be gone before exiting the plain.

She always found this bit to be the most frustrating part of any trip, it annoyed her terribly, I mean we are hear at the destination, at the airport and were not still moving, the seat belt light has gone out and we have our bags in our hands... why the fuck don’t you just open the doors so we can get on with our lives. That’s what she thought anyway, she would never say anything; she just sat there knowing Chris was thinking the same thing; they had discussed it previously during a drunken night at his apartment.

Eventually the crowd began to clear and Chris got to his feet and reached up to grab there hand luggage, Faith remained sat in the seat that was once occupied by Chris. She looks down the isle to see the moody, angry looking stewardess come storming up the isle again. She looked at Chris and diverted her eyes down the isle trying to draw his attention to the approaching stewardess.
Chris looked over and putting his bag down on the floor smiles at the stewardess who was almost upon them.

Macbeth: Hey, Thank yo..... SLAP!!!!!!!!!!

Macbeth’s head flicks to the side as the angry stewardess slaps him across the face. Faith jumps to her feet pushing the stewardess, just as it looked like the two women were going to go at it Macbeth stepped in the way encouraging Faith to sit back down before facing back at the stewardess.

Macbeth: Do you make a habit of smacking your passengers around the face.

Stewardess: No, Just the arseholes.

Macbeth: So, from that answer I guess you know me then?[blue]

Faith gets to her feet and pushes past the stewardess followed by Chris and they both begin to make there way down the isle.

Stewardess: You arsehole, you never called me.

Macbeth turns back to her leaving Faith walking down the isle.

[blue]Macbeth: What, When.

Stewardess: You really don’t remember do you? Last year, you were flying to Chicago, you asked me to meet up with you there as I had a few days free before my next flight. So I stayed in Chicago and waited for your call, and it didn’t come.

Macbeth thinking back begins to put the puzzle back together. Then a smile crossed his face as he points a finger up the isle of the plane.

Macbeth: Wait did we, well you know, in the toilets.

Stewardess: You arsehole.

Macbeth just laughs and walks away. It was your arsehole I’ll think you will find.

Faith: What?

Faith’s head pokes back into the plane as Macbeth approached the exit door. Shit, "think quick Chris", he thought to himself. I mean he is with Faith now and is devoted to her, the stewardess was in the past but he doesn’t really want Faith finding out about that, there is no need for her too.

Macbeth: Ph I was just calling her an arsehole, after she called me one. It was a case of mistaken identity I think.

Macbeth kisses Faith, and the pair of them walk off down the ramp away from the plane and the jilted angry stewardess.

That was close! Macbeth thinks to himself.

A few hours later

Faith following close behind Chris enters the local pub of the Macbeth family. She had nerves as Chris stopped at the bar and ordered himself a pint of bitter and a glass of wine for herself. They were meeting Chris’ parents here but had arrived a little early so thought they would order some food.

The barman handed Chris a menu and the pair went and sat in a window seat looking out over the village church. Faith had heard all about Chris and the rest of the Macbeths nights of drinking in this pub and if the tradition remains, this could be a pretty mental night..
