|-| It was over. Hunter Payne had won the Triple Threat match. After driving LJ Havok into the mat with “The F’n Payneful Bottom", Hunter Payne was just three seconds away from continuing padding his resume with a big victory. Struggling even to simply move, Hunter hooked the leg on Havok, the referee beginning the three count ... but then ....

SHAWN STEELE!

Shawn Steele, the forgotten man who was last seen simply attempting to pull himself up by the ring ropes, hadn’t stopped pulling himself up. He kept right on going until he was perched on the top rope and, using perhaps the little bit of energy .. of life left in his body, Steele leapt from the top rope, delivering his rarely seen “Sadistic Intent Leg Drop”, dropping his leg right across the back of Hunter Payne’s neck. LJ Havok, “The Savior”, already motionless under the body of Hunter Payne, appeared to have lost all consciousness from the massive blow to his chest. Payne too looked out of it, though still conscious. Steele, however, let out a scream of pure agony at the moment of impact ....

Shawn Steele, clutching his lower back rolls over and drapes his arm over LJ Havok!

It was all he could take, just to drape an arm over the unconscious Havok. But it would be enough. It would be enough for the referee, who had barely avoided becoming collateral damage as Steele had come from above, to slap his right hand against the mat three times, giving Shawn Steele his sixth victory in a row, sending LJ Havok’s momentum tumbling down even farther just one week before his match for the XWF European Championship. But there was one part of this match that most people had seemed to fail to notice. Perhaps even Shawn Steele himself hadn’t noticed it. But Joey Styles let the television audience in on what they had just witnessed ....

JOEY STYLES: “Shawn Steele picks up another victory as LJ Havoks momentum continues to fade! Will this victory over the number one contender to the European title put Shawn Steele in the running!?

Perhaps we should start referring to him as Shawn Steele, “The Number One Contender Killer”. Just two weeks after defeating Mr. Radio, the Number One Contender to Mr. Supernova’s XWF Television Championship, Shawn Steele had just picked up a victory over the Number One Contender to the highest Championship that XWF Monday Night Madness has to offer. This had been one of Shawn Steele’s biggest victories yet. And would have been a capper to a fantastic night. If his night had ended there. But it didn’t ....

The Main Event .. John Madison defending his King of the XWF Crown against Tony Santos and Griffin MacAlister was a “barn burner”, to quote the greatest of all time. But as could be expected, it turned into a massive clusterfuck in the end. The Black Circle and The Congregation were out in force. But then .. then the unthinkable happened. Sebastian Duke led his Brotherhood to the ring. But it wasn’t enough. The numbers were too great for them to overcome. But “The Angel of Darkness” had come prepared this Monday night. Prepared with a seemingly never ending supply of shrouded men. And one by one they began to attack.

The other hooded man, the taller one, takes Nazi and drives him head first to the mat with a corkscrew cradle tombstone!

Let’s face facts. Based on the pure size of the hooded man alone, some would be willing to venture a guess to as just who he was. But if that wasn’t enough .. there’s only one man who uses the Corkscrew Cradle Tombstone Piledriver. And it’s known as The Steele Twister. But still .. it couldn’t be. Could it? No. The man who uses that move is a loner. Friends? He has no need for them. So clearly it couldn’t be ...

JOEY STYLES: “SHAWN STEELE!?!?

Or maybe it could. Yes, Shawn Steele had joined The Brotherhood. And he wasn’t the only one. Sebastian Duke had managed to convince Rebel, Hunter Payne, Shawn Steele and Tony Santos to join his Brotherhood. All in all, it was an active night for Shawn Steele. He had joined The Brotherhood. Defeated the Number One Contender to the XWF European Championship. And, perhaps more importantly, his performance had moved him into sole possession of third place in the Fall Madness Series with Fourteen Points. Calling it an active night might be an understatement. And it’s a night that Shawn Steele would like to call over. Unfortunately for him, the predictable thorn in his side has other plans.

Our scene begins unfolding backstage at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where XWF’s Monday Night Madness ended hours ago. The ring has been torn down and is being hauled out of the arena, piece by piece. The fans that had previously filled the sold out arena are long gone. As are the majority of the XWF Superstars. But one superstar who hasn’t made his exit yet, is Shawn Steele. But he’s attempting to do just that, dressed in blue jeans and a black t-shirt, gym bag slung over his shoulder. But, as you could come to expect at this point, he’s confronted as soon as he opens his locker room door ...

Steve Sayors: Shawn Steele! What in the ever loving hell happened out there tonight?!

Shawn Steele clearly isn’t happy for this intrusion.

Shawn Steele: Jesus Christ Sayors. Can’t I get a fucking moment of peace without you shoving a microphone in my face and demanding answers to questions that, quite frankly Sayors, is none of your god damn business.

Steve Sayors: Oh I think this is all my god damn business. The fans are demanding answers Shawn. They want to know what to make of what we saw out there tonight!

Shawn Steele: You want to know what to make out of what happened out there tonight? Fine. I’m going to spell it out for you as clearly as I can Sayors. I pinned LJ Havok. The same man who’s going to step into that ring in one week to face Luca Arzegotti for the XWF European Championship. THE SAME MAN that I just DESTROYED inside of that ring tonight. Just like I said I would. Everyone saw what happened Steve. Everyone saw what I did. And everyone knows that I should be facing Luca next week. When’s the last time LJ Havok even won a match? He’s a talented guy and he’s going to have some XWF Gold around his waist. Eventually. But right now, he’s a failure. He can’t win. This little losing streak of his, it’s in his head. Deep in his head. He doesn’t stand a chance of beating Arzegotti for that belt. The fans know. Luca knows it. Hell, even you know it, Sayors. Some I’m going to say this once. Just once. Arzegotti .. that belt you have .. that XWF European Championship, might as well be considered my property. Because when the time is right, I’m coming to get it. And if I have to rip your arm off and beat you to death with it to get that belt, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do. So how was that, Steve? Give the fans the answer they wanted?

Steve Sayors: You know full well that’s not the question everyone wants to kno....

Shawn Steele: Yeah, you’re right Sayors. I know the one question on everyone’s mind. And I know that question, is probably burning a hole right through LJ Havok’s brain right now. So let’s just get this right out in the open right now. Hunter Payne and I .. yeah. We had an agreement. We had an agreement to go out there tonight, and tear the fucking house down. We had an agreement to go out there tonight, and beat the living shit out of you. And each other. We had an agreement to give it everything we had, and let the chips fall where they may. And they fell my way. Phew! You were right Stevie. It felt good to get that off my chest.

Steve Sayors: Enough with the games! Why the hell did you join The Brotherhood?! Why have you joined forces with Sebastian Duke?!

Shawn Steele: You wanna know Sayors?! You really want to know what would drive me to join The Brotherhood? Why I would essentially give Sebastian Duke my allegiance? Because I’d had enough Sayors. I .. have had .. ENOUGH! Where’s my respect been? Huh?! Where’s the respect that I FUCKING DESERVE?! I’ve run through everyone that Paul Heyman has put in front of me. Veterans. Rookies. Number One Contenders. Former Champions. All of 'em! And I haven’t just beaten them, Sayors. I’ve destroyed everyone who’s stepped in the ring with me. But where has it gotten me? WHERE?!

Steve Sayors: It’s gotten you in Main Events on Mond.....

Shawn Steele: SHUT THE FUCK UP! I’ve Main Evented. I’ve “stolen the show”. But what do I get, Sayors? What do I get? I get attacked from behind. Time and time again. So that’s it. I’m done. I’m done playing around. I’m doing being the good little soldier and going out to that ring every Monday night on Madness and putting on a show. I’m done picking up my victory and heading to the back. I’m done minding my own business. I’m done waiting for someone .. for PAUL HEYMAN .. to give me the opportunities that I deserve. Paul Heyman is too busy trying to one up John Madison to notice anything else going on. ON HIS SHOW! So what I did tonight .. when I took off that hood .. when I uncloaked myself .. what I did tonight was insert myself Paul Heyman’s problem. From here on out Sayors, I’m taking what I want. WHATEVER .. I want. Joining The Brotherhood is what’s in my best interest. Besides. I think The Black Circle and The Congregation have spent more than enough time feeling like they run this place.

Steve Sayors: I suppose .... I suppose if you want to get people talking about you, and really make an impact, joining The Brotherhood is one way of doing it. And it appears to have worked because just before coming to find you, I got word that General Manager Paul Heyman has booked you next week. In a tag team match. With the man you were facing tonight, and now your fellow Brotherhood member, Hunter Payne. Against Mr. Radio and Vincent Altieri.

Shawn Steele: Really? You think this is some kind of step up in my world? Why? Because I’m facing two of the three guys I’ll be facing when I get my shot at the XWF Television Championship? Why should I care? I’ve already beaten Radio. Altieri? I don’t even know what he did to deserve to be in MY MATCH for the Television Championship. Let alone this match. What I know of Vincent, is that Hunter Payne kicked his ass two weeks ago. And guess what, Sayors? He’s going to do it again. Only this time, it’s going to be worse for poor Vincent. I saw what happened two weeks ago. It was brought to my attention when Heyman threw Altieri into that match for no reason. After he lost to Payne. Then he took the coward’s way out. Attacking Hunter with a chair after the match. Have I mentioned .. Sayors .. have I mentioned that I hate cowards? I’m pretty sure it’s come up in my dealings with the Morrison family. Now Radio .. Mr. Radio may not be a coward. He’s not. But do you know what else I hate? Having to demolish the same fucking guys over and over. And Heyman has to know that the more times he puts me in that ring with someone, the higher the probability that whoever that person is, won’t be walking out. And that person is Mr. Radio. The same Mr. Radio that I’ve already beaten. The same Mr. Radio that I’ve got to step into the ring with in one week. The same Mr. Radio that I’m going to step into the ring with, for a third time, when Mr. Supernova finally puts that XWF Television title on the line. And in that match .. in that match Sayors, Mr. Radio will not be walking out of. That’s if he manages to walk into it.

Steve Sayors: You didn’t exactly.....

Shawn Steele: I did’t exactly what, Sayors? I didn’t prove myself? I didn’t earn it? I’m sick of this shit. I’m sick of not being respected.

Steve Sayors: That’s not what I ....

Shawn Steele: I don’t care what you said! I know what everyone is thinking. I’m just some fucking run of the mill card filler. Thats what they see me as. I’m some roided up freak, right Sayors? I’m a big, muscle bound meat head. All muscle, no mind. And that’s how they all think they’re going to beat me, isn’t it? It’s what they’ve all said. Every single one of them. Mr. Radio. LJ Havok. Andrew Morrison. Andrew Aldway. All of them. And I’m fucking sick of it. What do I have to do to get a little fucking respect around here? I’ll tell you what I have to do, Sayors. What I did tonight. What I did tonight, was make a statement. And I made one hell of a statement. WE .. made one hell of a statement. The Brotherhood made a huge statement tonight, Sayors. A statement that says no longer is John Madison the man calling the shots around here. Right now, Duke and Griffin have those tag belts. Rebel has his X-treme Championship. And that is HIS, X-treme Championship. No one is taking that title away from him. But those three titles .. those three XWF Championships? They’re just the beginning Sayors. Soon, that Crown will Duke’s rightful possession. And me? Well, I’m a big guy Sayors and I think two belts would be a good look for me.

Lifting his left arm to check his watch, Shawn turns and begins walking.

Shawn Steele: Walk and talk Sayors, walk and talk.

Nodding, Sayors begins to walk alongside.

Steve Sayors: Speaking of that, you will be getting your first shot at becoming an XWF Champion when you.....

Shawn Steele: Listen to what you just said, Sayors. My first shot. Since I first got here, I’ve been running through everyone who’s been placed in front of me. Nothing has stopped me. And this is my first shot at gold? That .. that right there Sayors, is why what happened tonight happened. I’m done waiting. From here on out, you’re going to see an even more aggressive Shawn Steele. A more dangerous Shawn Steele. Tonight was just the first step.

Sayors stops and looks confused for a moment as Shawn Steele stops beside a limo and opens the door before turning back to face Sayors.

Shawn Steele: Now that I’m a part of The Brotherhood, I no longer have to keep looking behind my back constantly, waiting for the next jackass to attack me from behind. I know they’ve got my back. And they all know the same thing goes for them. We’re a ......

Stopping suddenly, Shawn turns to see that the camera man has slowly moved around behind him, and has leaned into the limo through the open door ...

... Grabbing the camera man by the back of his shirt, Steele yanks him backwards.

Shawn Steele: Get the fuck out of there! Hasn’t anyone ever taught you it’s a good idea to mind your own business?

Shaking his head, Steele quickly climbs into the limo and pulls the door closed, the scene slowly fading out as the limo pulls away.
