The nightmares still haunted me even when I was awake. Haunted me whenever I closed my eyes but the worse had to be Griffin’s death at the hands of Nova. I could smell the blood, death and destruction as that nightmare kept repeating in my head.

“Where is he?”

I sniffed and crouched down on the rooftop overlooking the city. Paris was a
wonderful city, always has been no matter how deep the scars went. The sound of a familiar bike caught my attention and I followed it into the city.

Griffin was sitting on his bike, joint in one hand and looking out over the city. He didn’t notice that I was there and I smiled, gently putting my hand on his back. He let out a startled yelp, jumped and fell off his bike. His joint was still in his hand but his other hand reaching for something. I couldn’t help but laugh softly.

“Are you okay?”

I kept laughing as I held out my hand, the nightmare forgotten for a minute.
