That was the night, that my slim hopes of being Universal Champion, was taken away from me, when Doctor D'Ville pinned Hero Xtreme to win our Triple Threat Match on Wednesday Night Warfare. I was just metres away of breaking up the pin, but like I said I couldn't quite get there in time.

In the lead up to that match I had a war of words with the great Doctor Louis D'Ville. At that time he was on top of his game. He was THE Universal Champion. Unstoppable during that time.

In order to take him on, I needed to go to another level.

That other level was to find another part of myself, deep down inside me, that I could use to bring myself out and face the great Doctor head on.

But what it did was it nearly destroyed me.

It not only nearly destroyed me it also nearly destroyed my wrestling career.

It not only nearly destroyed me and also nearly destroyed my wrestling career, but it also nearly destroyed my life.

It not only nearly destroyed me, and also nearly destroyed my wrestling career, and also nearly destroyed my life, but it also nearly cost me the most important thing in my life.... my marriage.

My wife Maria, told me not to do it. She told me not to stupe to the Great Doctor's level, that I wasn't ready to be the Universal Champion at the time. I should have listened to her.

"I believe in you, 'M"" Maria was saying "I believe in your abilities. You do not need to stoop to the level of how the Doctor does things. He is a dark, dark, twisted man. You know how to get inside people's heads. You do it in your own way. But he does it in his evil ways. He's already gotten to you."

"That's not true," I say

"It is bloody true. Look at the state of you. You spend too long trying to figure him out. He's already figured you out."

"That's not true," I say again

I remember standing there looking at THAT mirror that I found in one of my many rooms. THAT mirror I read had the power to take the good you and replace you with the bad you. Because of the two-way reflection thing. All I had to do was to say the words that I had in my hand.

"I don't want you to do this! I truly don't. I have a bad feeling about this."

"Relax, babe. What could possibly go wrong?"

Those were my famous last words.

The moment I did what I did, to change personalities by allowing my good self to be trapped where my bad self was, behind the reflection of the mirror, was when everything went pearshaped for me.

My bad self did not want to focus on Maria, or anything she said.

He did a lot of damage to what I had created through my life up to this point.

My bad self went toe to toe with the great Doctor D'Ville, but even that wasn't enough, and in the end the Doctor won.

My bad self tried to stay on the outside as long as he could, and it had to take my wife, to plead with the Doctor to help.

Not only did the Doctor help, but he twisted things around on my wife, and made her suffer to the point where she didn't even know what was happening.

Like other people, he came across he successfuly got inside her head. He turned her world up side down, and played mind games with her. To have fun with her.

And only when she was at her weakest did he relent and sent my bad self back into the mirror, and brought my good self back out into the real world. And then he stole the mirror, and that was supposed to be the end of that.


I came out the mirror to my world upside down. My famous last words of what could go wrong came back to bite me in the butt. My whole world was a mess.

Maria was in a bad state, and my wrestling situation with the XWF was in jeopardy.

After losing to the Doc, my bad self managed to win one match before going on a 6 match losing spree. It was at this point that Maria got the Doc involved and after all of his shenanigans, released me. He left with the mirror and I seriously had to make a big decision.

Mend my personal life or go back to the XWF and let my personal life suffer and go down the drain.

In the end, I chose to fix my personal life, and so I took what amounted to 3 years off from the XWF.

But before I could help my wife, I had one last thing to do. I paid a visit to Doctor D'Ville and reclaimed the mirror.

But in an argument that we had at the time, there was a struggle, and both of us ended up braking the mirror.

Don't ask me why, probably because I couldn't trust the Doc putting it back together, so I took it with me back to New Zealand, I put it away in a suitcase, in one of the rooms that I occupy and have never seen it since.

It took a while, but I nursed Maria back to better health, and it was from there, that we got our lives and our marriage back on track, so much so, we had two sets of twins. Boy twins, and girl twins.

LATE 2018

As I was preparing to make my way back to the XWF in 2018, she sat me down and asked for one thing.

"If you ever got the chance to go up against Doctor D'Ville again, do me a favor,"

"What's that?" I asked

"Destroy him,"

"Oh trust me, I will," I stated.

FAST FORWARD 2020
RELENTLESS
2020

DAY 2

I had just been beaten by Thaddeus Duke and was getting stitched up in a temporary Medic Room inside Alcatraz Prison. Antony walked into the room.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine, I'll recover."

"Maria's on the phone," he said passing me the cell phone

"She contacted you?"

"Yes, just hear her out."

"Fine."

I put the phone to my ear.

"I'm okay babe, it was a gruelling match, I'll be home soon before I head to Germany for the next Warfare."

"That's good to hear, but I want to ask you a question."

"Okay fire away."

"Do you have enough energy in you to do some sort of attack for night 3,"

"I should do, after I have a good sleep, why?"

"Because now is your chance for pay back."

"What sort of pay back. I don't want to attack Thad again, it's just going to keep on going, and I'm tired of Thad."

"No silly. Now is your only chance to take out Doctor Louis D'Ville. I see he's competing tomorrow night against Gator. One of those matches for the ages from yesteryear kind of thing."

"He is."

"Well like I said, now it's your one and only chance to attack him, and force a match for next Warfare. You said yourself he hasn't been the same since returning, and he's only had a limited amount of matches."

I thought for a bit.

"'M'"

"I'm still here."

"I was talking to Antony, he said if you wanted the Misfits could help out."

i looked at Antony "Did he now? You didn't get in his ear."

"Now's the chance for retribution. Don't you want payback for what he did to us?"

"Of course I do. And I agree with you, now would be a good time,"

"Good well then talk with Antony, and get something sorted."

I laughed. "Yes Maam. I'll talk to you soon,"

"I love you 'M'."

"Love you too Maria,"

I hung up.

"So you have a plan?" I asked Antony

"I do. Do you want to hear it?"

"Lets hear it then,"

And we all saw what happened next on Day 3 of Relentless after the Doctor won his match against Gator. And I have to say, it felt good to attack him when he least experienced an attack coming. In a small way it was a little bit of payback. The rest of it was coming.

ENROUTE FROM THE UNITED STATES TO NEW ZEALAND
MASTERMIND'S PRIVATE JET

The camera fades inside the Private jet of Mastermind as it's heading from the United States to New Zealand and it finds Mastermind looking at his laptop. He was looking at his last two matches against Doctor Louis D'Ville back in 2015. He knows the camera is on him. He pauses the match of what he was watching, and looks up.

"Alan Bennett who is an English Author was quoted as once saying "Sometimes there is no next time, no time-outs, no second chances. Sometimes it’s now or never."

"There should never ever be no next time or second chances when it comes to opponents because you know you are either better than them or worse then them, and also you feel that there would be no way ever that you could ever beat them in any match. And so that was the case in the old days back in 2014 and 2015. I came across Doctor Louis D'Ville in his prime. He was one of the greatest Universe Champions for the way he spoke before hand in promos and for the way he wrestled.

"At that point in time he set the record for the longest Universal Tittle reign ever with 161 days. That was why he wass the best back then. So if he was in his prime you never contemplate have a second chance or even feel there could be a next time. Because with him in that form he was too powerful and unbeeatable.

"But that was then and this is now. His record of a 161 days has since been beaten by 3 others. The great Loverboy Vinnie Lane with 174 days, then the Engineer came along and set the record which has not been beaten with 276 days, but it almost got beaten Robert the Omega Main who fell 7 days short of the overall record.

"I faced the Doc twice when he was in his prime. The first time he took the X-treme title off of me after I won it. And that second time, he stopped me from winning the coveted Universal Title in a triple threat match.

"I knew I couldn't beat him. Back in 2015, I felt I would never be able to beat him."

Mastermind smirks his infamous smirk.

"But as I said, that was back then, and this is now. I left the XWF for 3 years. Mostly to do with me needing a break, and a little bit to do with Doc's fault. I'll get into that another time. But low and behold when I came back in late 2018, the Doc was nowhere to be seen. He was in retirement. Just like I was. But here's the thing. I was only in semi-retirement. I knew I would return to the XWF some day. Did the Doc? Maybe. You'll have to ask him.

"But then he came back. For one matfch last year, and it wasn't pefect, and he wasn't his old self. I should have got in then, but like I said, he wasn't himself and disappeared again.

"He's now back again. He's been back for two matches now. He's rusty. He's there for the taking. He's mine for the taking.

"Doc, I did what I did at Relentless because I knew I had a small window of opportunity. That opportunity is now. It's now or never. You may be struggling but that's up to me to out think you.

"I have a score to settle. On behalf of me and my wife.

"You remember my wife don't you Doc? You traumatized her so bad, that I felt responsible for finding a way to get you back some day. And now that someday has arrived. There is going to be a second chance, there is going to be payback, and there is going to be a different outcome. Me beating your ass come Warfare.

"You can beat your bottom dollar on that.

"I know you were no longer the man that you were when you were at the top of your game, when you were Universal Champion, and it proved to be the case when you took on Gator at Relentless. You weren't in your prime then but you both gave a good match. I did what I did because I saw the opportunity to.

"I know you are going to come at me with all guns ablazing. But we both know that those guns are only halfcocked. Because you are struggling to find your former self. I can help you with that. I"ll show you how to find your former self, but not before I beat your ass to kingdom come and then some.

"I'm coming for you Doc. Payback's a bitch. I'm only just getting warmed up.

"How much warmth do you truly have inside of you Doc? Let's see what you have got.

"It's now or never for me. It's my time. What time is it for you Doc?"

Mastermind starts chuckling and then returns to watching his laptop, and the camera fades out.
