On Thursday morning, The Miskatonic Advisor ran a story in its second page, detailing the mysterious disappearance of a well-respected professor at the nearby Miskatonic University. Doctor Marcel LeCourt did not show up to teach his assigned classes on Tuesday morning, causing some colleagues to grow worried, as LeCourt was not one to simply not appear without a proper excuse phoned in.

His colleague in the English Department, Sebastian Andrews, was interviewed by the paper, but he seemed incredibly nervous and only gave vague, curt response to inquiries into the potential location of LeCourt. Police have named him a "person of interest" in the investigation. Some of LeCourt's coworkers stated that the professor had a history of mental illness, which led to a thorough scouring of the Miskatonic River Valley's many inlets of water, though no bodies were found.

LeCourt has no close family or next of kin, though police are hesitant to suspect foul play as of yet. LeCourt's home showed no signs of forced entry or struggle, leading officials to believe LeCourt may have left town under his own accord.
