Chapter Five: You choose

”I don’t understand.” Chris states as he looks through the two way mirror at Adam Barker tied to a chair. Adam tries to struggle to free himself but it’s to no avail as Robert responds.

”What are you, stupid? This isn’t complicated. Here, let me dumb it down for you.” Robert snaps his fingers where a large stainless steel food prep table appears next to Adam causing him to flinch while on the table we see a butchers knife, a 9 millimeter hand gun and a bag of lye. ”Are you starting to catch my drift? The interesting thing with this is technically you’re both still alive… but one of you won’t be when you step through that door. You’re going to have a choice to make as to who lives and who dies.”

”You’re one sick son of a bitch.” I can understand why Solider would worship the ground you walk on, why you’re bosom buddies when you consider how sick and perverse. Thus far I’ve had to fight a ten year old kid to the death, I’ve had to look my dead son in the face and call him a coward and now I’m going to have to possibly kill my best friend and business partner who nearly fifteen years for the sake of trying to get back to Earth or run the risk of staying in Hell for eternity. I’m going to level with you; I don’t care about a lot of people because people have a tendency to often let you down. I like having a smaller circle of people around me and Adam Barker is certainly one of those men. I know many of you don’t understand just who he is and why he’s important to me. Adam was the original owner of the WGWF for four or five years before I signed a contract. He saw the talent coursing through my body and helped me develop into the Main Event superstar you see in front of you today. His guidance was instrumental with everything that is now known as “Chronic” Chris Page, and when he had enough of the business he sold me the federation where I carried it on for over ten years straight while being a trusted advisor. Safe to say he’s pretty important to me before he showed up in England and got me out of that whole Queen’s Guard kick in the nuts bit. ”You’re reaching just like your minion.” A stiff backhand from Robert sends Chris sailing backwards with authority against the back wall of this confined office as Robert lashes out at Chris.

”Don’t you dare talk about my Soldier that way!” Robert’s pupils turn bright red as he gazes at Chris who is incredibly surprised at the show of strength show by Satan a mere moments ago. ”He’s my Soldier and he is doing my bidding to take down the XWF, you know, doing what you could not do.”

”You backed the wrong fucking horse and when I get the fuck out of here there’s going to be nothing stopping me from sending him back to you where he belongs bent over your mattresses with his butt cheeks spread waiting for you to seed his hole. If I lose this battle with Satan I will not get my chance to silence one of my biggest critics. There’s a lot of motivation for me to continue this fight but as I look past Robert at the fear that is exuding from Adam’s pores reality starts to set in with the fact that I might not be able to go through with this. It’s almost like choosing is Soldier more important than fifteen years of legitimate friendship. I was his best man at his wedding for fucks sake.

”Soldier hasn’t let me down, wish I could say the same for you.” Robert motions towards a door with a simple head nod and it slowly open, creaking along the way which gets Adam’s attention as he screams out.

”Who’s there?!?!

”Your life or his. You choose.” Chris lets out a deep sigh and as he starts to take steps towards the open door he stops and looks over at Robert.

”I am going to kill you.” Robert laughs under his breath before spouting back out with sheer sarcasm.

”Sure you are.” Chris flips Robert off before stepping through the door and into this concrete room with four walls and a floor. An immediate sign of relief is shown from Adam as he calls out towards Chris.

”You’re alive! You got to get me out of here! The frantic nature of Adam’s tone within his voice could never be more real as the door behind him creaks shut and is heard locking.

”Yes I’m alive… We’re being watched.” Chris motions to the two way mirror with a slight head tilt in that direction.

”Untie me and let’s figure a way out of this.”

”I wish it was that simple.” Chris stands in front of the two way mirror, shirtless and still in white scrub pants.

”It’s not hard either! Take that knife and cut me loose; I’ve been glamoured, had a priest bleed out in my lap, found out that Donald Trump is a spawn of Satan and I’ve looked the Devil in the eyes. PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE!” Frantically Adam tries to convince Chris to release him.

”I’m not sure if you’re aware of what’s going on, what’s really going on. I’m in the midst of a battle in order to try and get back to Earth with each round hitting closer and closer to home. With you here and now I’ve got two options.” Chris stares Adam in the eyes as he continues. ”Kill you or kill myself.” Never have I been put in as hard of a position as I have been put in right now. My mind tries to conjure up any possible variable that ensures both our survival. If I cut him free Robert will just kill us, if I kill him then I move on to the next stage of hell or I could end this all the way around and just take that 9 millimeter and blow the back of my head off like my son, none sound like a win/win situation regardless of how you want to look at it.. ”The only way that door opens if with one of our deaths.” Tears begin to roll down both cheeks of Adam Barker as his reality has just set in. He’s just a pawn in a much bigger plan hashed out by Satan himself. [green]”You see the dilemma we’ve found ourselves in?” Chris’s voice cracks as he continues. ”I should have expected it with everything that I’ve been through.” They say to always expect the unexpected so I don’t know why I expected this to be any different. Satan is trying to break me down mentally, physically and emotionally so that I will be at my weakest point when we do battle, if we do battle because that’s how he operates, he NEEDS you to be weak; he NEEDS you to be vulnerable so that he doesn’t have to fight you… because he fears to fight you. Thus far this entire situation has shown me several kinks in his armor that I will not lose sight of and I will keep tucked away until the perfect moment.

”Before you kill me I want to hear about it.” True friendship is very hard to come by and even knowing that there’s a really good chance he’s about to die Adam continues. ”It’s been one hell of a day.” Adam starts to fight back his tears as does Chris who nods his head forward before walking to the side of Adam where the stainless steel kitchen table rests and retrieves the butchers knife. ”Whoa man! What are you doing?!?!” Fear is in the voice of Adam as Chris walks around behind his best friend. Adam fears for the worst but is quickly relived as Chris cuts the ropes that bound Adam to the chair freeing him so move about freely as he states.

”I’m not going to talk to my best friend tied to a fucking chair.” Chris finishes cutting the ropes where he returns the knife to the table as Adam is shown standing up while rubbing his wrists where ropes had once tightly held them. Chris and Adam both look into the two way mirror as Chris spouts out. ”Do don’t control me.”

”I thought for sure you was about to kill me.” Chris walks back around the table before hopping up and popping a squat on the end of the table it self.

”It’s been a crazy one hasn’t it?” The attempt to lighten the mood a little bit starts to take hold as Chris calmly begins once more. ”I’ve been forced to look at so much that’s a lot to digest; who in their right mind thought hell actually existed? The insertion of a little sarcasm garners a light chuckle from both men. ” Mind blown.” Chris pauses for a mere second before he continues. ”It’s like you have to re-evaluate all of your beliefs; example, Satan exists but in the form of Robert FUCKING Main?!?!” Solider seems to care an awful lot about Main with many of the references he’s tried to make throughout the last several weeks. If I didn’t know any better I think Robert makes Soldiers dick hard.

”In all fairness to Robert but he was the only egg you didn’t crack.” A little more laughter from the two friends as it becomes a little more relaxed and a little less tense within the room. ”Twice.” An immediate middle finger is flung up by Chris Page as Adam busts out into laughter at Chris’s expense which draws a verbal response as well.

”Here we go with this shit again!” Chris lowers his hand down while stating. ”Everyone loves to harp on that like it’s supposed mean something when for nearly two years ninety nine point nine failed with flying colors as well; and while we all failed, NOBODY pushed that mother fucker like I pushed him.” OMG truer words have never been fucking spoken! While I appreciate the constant reminders of my failures there’s only ONE person that can say he’s beaten Robert… and we all already know I’m better than him… So please do yourselves a favor and if you want to continue to gossip about it like it’s remotely relevant to right here and right now by all means do so knowing that best verbal punch you’re able to throw applies to everyone else on the roster as well; kudos, you dumb fuck. ”He never made more money than what he made with me and he can get on his hands and knees to THANK me for making his reign as Universal Champion remotely credible with all the small fishes that swim in the XWF waters.” Chris looks over at Adam expecting some sort of smart ass response but is met with a more surprising response.

”Yeah, I got nothing.” Mutual understand has been reached in that regard and I think it’s safe to say we all understand, right? ”So what trails have you had to deal with?”

”Some weird shit for sure; for whatever reason I had to fight to the death with that little snot whose teeth I kicked out in that airport, remember that?”

”How could I forget, nobody would let that die.”

”That’s what happens when you’re “over”, people will ALWAYS look for a reason to put your name in their mouths.” Right Shane? ”I had to kill that kid in some weird wrestling arena filled with fire and demons, funny thing is he still kept telling me to suck his dick.” Cause ya know, it’s the “thing” around here. ”Killing him didn’t so much bother me because I’d like to think I did the world a favor by ridding it of one more Peter Gilmour fan…” High five. ”It wasn’t what I was expecting but it had to be done; after that I seriously thought for a second I was crazy. I saw Blake shoot himself again… he tried to blame me for his suicide but I called him a coward and he pulled the trigger again.” Adam knows the situation revolving around my deceased son and it’s not surprising that since hell exists that he’s hanging out here with the rest of the cowards.[/b] ”And now here we are.” Chris states as he hops off the table landing on his feet.

”You saw Blake? You haven’t mentioned him in years, not since…” Adam stops his sentence before opening up another can of worms. He quickly shifts the conversation as he turns back towards the two way mirror. ”So he’s back there watching us?” Adam asks as Chris walks forward towards Adam while looking into the two way mirror as well before responding.

”Watching and waiting… it’s not like he doesn’t have eternity to wait.” Adam turns towards Chris as he states.

”So you wasn’t going to kill me after all.” Reality sets in with Adam that his life is not in immediate jeopardy causing him to relax just a little more.

”No bro… I knew when I walked through that door that it would be the last door I ever walked through. I’m not going to kill you, we’re family, and I’d rather sit in this room with you and shoot the shit until one of us dies of starvation or dehydration.” [i]Consequently Soldier might get the easiest title defense of his reign if I elect not to kill Adam and I elect to stay here. My next sets of choices are going to be crucial and critical. One things for certain, I’m not killing my best friend.
”Basically it’s going to be a matter of who can survive the longest, if it’s you than you go back to Earth and live your best life… and if it’s me I’ll move on to the next stage of this endless game. The one thing that was never made clear when Satan and I struck this deal was how many levels of hell I am going to have to walk through before he stops being a chicken shit and faces me as advertised.”

”You’d sacrifice all that for me?” Adam seems genuinely shocked by what he’s hearing from Chris because this should be a no brainer.

”You looked out for me and had my back before anyone else in the wrestling business and over the years as we’ve grown we’ve grown together… and if we have to die then hell, I say we die together.” Contrary to popular belief I am not afraid of failure because if you’re scared to fail then you’re scared to succeed. I’ve had ONE opportunity at getting that Universal Title around my waist and I lost it by a cunt hair. Failure like that isn’t an easy pill to swallow and it’s a pill that I’ve been force fed. I’ve put everything into executing my role within this company to perfection in every sense of the word. I gave the XWF exactly what the fuck they asked for when they came crawling to my front door begging me to inject some goddamn competition into their veins, I forced talents to step their games up and PROVE that they belong in positions they had strangle holds on and above all else I made the XWF watchable again. I haven’t ever been hungrier than I am right now to stand atop of this federation as its Universal Champion and unlike Leap of Faith all my work isn’t going to be for nothing and isn’t going to be for the loser’s purse of this Main Event attraction. The entire locker room is looking on; lines drawn in the sand, you have your side and I have mine. One things for certain the real winners of this isn’t you or I; Soldier, it’s the fans that we’re taking on one incredible journey. ”What do you say?” Adam turns away from the two way mirror and starts to walk back towards the now empty chair. He looks down at the ropes that once bound him to the chair while stating.

”I think all of this is crazy and that if I wasn’t here myself seeing it with my own eyes that you just got ahold of some really bad weed and hallucinated this entire thing.” Adam raises his head looking at the concrete wall in front of him. ”But I am here…” Adam turns quickly towards the kitchens table where he snatches the 9 millimeter.

”ADAM WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!” Adam cocks the 9 millimeter in his right hand as he turns towards Chris raising his right hand up before turning it on his self as he states.

”I give up.” Adam pulls the trigger discharging the gun at his temple shooting splatter and brain matter on the kitchen table as his body crumbles to the floor under the dead weight.

”NO!” Adam lays on the floor with thick red blood pouring out of the chunk of his skull that’s exposed with the gun next to his body. ”FUCK!” Chris rushes over picking up the gun where he places it next to his temple and as he squeezes the trigger there’s a snap of the fingers and Chris’s body is stiff and he can’t move.

”Now that’s not what we agreed too.” Robert Main opens the door to the concrete chamber that houses Chris and the now dead body of Adam Barker. With Robert entering the room the gun falls from Chris’s hand down to the floor. ”One of you dies, not both of you die and since you were to much of a pussy to do it yourself Adam prolonged your life just a little longer.” Chris mumbles but his lips aren’t able to move as Satan has control of his body. [red]”You’ve been asking, you’ve been calling for me, every beginning has and ending… you’re ending is coming.
