Rebel's boots echoed loudly on the polished metallic floor as she walked down one of the many corridors within the Citadel. Dressed in faded, slim fit jeans and a hot pink tank top, with her hair pulled back in a high pony tail, she arrived there with an intense need to blow off some steam. Whether that involved patrolling or devoting some time to training in the simulation room, it didn't matter. All she knew was that she had to find a release. To scratch that itch, so to speak. In the only way kicking some fucking ass could. Which was funny since her match against Tommy Wish was slated for tomorrow night. Still, that was many hours off and she needed to silence her restless frustration... now. Her first stop for the night, would be the command center, since that's where everyone met up, before they went off to patrol. Even though she wasn't on the schedule, there was still that chance that someone might need help and if not, then there was always the good old simulator, where she could battle any sorta creature she wanted. From a normal human to Godzilla, the possibilities were endless. So she had her options.
When she neared the command center, she could hear talking. At first, Rebel thought maybe Wylie was merely on com duty, lending his services. As she got closer, that's when she was able to distinguish two separate voices. One belonged to Wylie and the other was Azrael's. For a second, her heart skipped a beat but then she reminded herself, this Azrael wasn't from this timeline. While he was the same being, he was displaced and different. The life that Azrael from this timeline lived thus far and all his wild, wicked and wondrous experiences, that's what made the man, things the previous Azrael didn't go through yet and wasn't involved in, so he didn't have the chance to properly develop into all that he would eventually become.
Yet it wasn't as if she discriminated against Azrael from the past. Rebel liked this previous version of Azrael, she honestly did and there was even an instance or two, when they shared a moment of intimacy. Frivolous acts and nothing more. It might have been extremely foolish on her part and showed a great deal of weakness but hey, it wasn't really cheating if she technically fucked the same man, right? At least that's what she repeatedly told herself. In the end, she knew she was just lying to herself, clinging to the only version of the man that she loved that was available. It was weird and wrong and yet whenever she was around him, it didn't matter. This is what losing Azrael from this timeline did to her, they say absence makes the heart stronger, well without him, her heart felt like it was shattered into a million pieces. And everyday it only felt worse.
Sighing, Rebel put on a brave face and entered the command center, where she discovered Wylie talking to Azrael. Simultaneously, as this occurred, something peculiar happened. She didn't know if it was because she had been wrapped up in her own thoughts or she simply wasn't paying attention but when she stepped into that room, it was like she could finally focus on what was being said and what she heard, made her freeze in her tracks. Wylie was explaining things to Azrael. About the Citadel. The Elite. Patrolling. It seemed as though Wylie was catching Azrael up to speed with everything. There was also another oddity that took place. As soon as Rebel crossed the threshold and passed into the room, Azrael's eyes instantly met her's and when they did, it was as if he was gazing at Rebel, after not seeing her for months.
This was Wylie's cue to shut up and he caught onto that real quick. Then with a slight smoldering flame present in Azrael's eyes, he slowly approached Rebel Star, never once breaking their shared gaze. When he neared her, he smiled, pulled her close and kissed her. Passionately. Hungrily. Desperately. Like a man deprived of oxygen, till the brink of death, suddenly gifted with air. The kiss being the very sustenance of survival. A kiss for the ages, the stuff of fairy tales and epic sagas combined. Sparks flew and flames ignited. Both metaphorical and real. Azrael got lost in the moment and with that reckless abandon, he briefly lost control of his powers, an instantaneous flare up that caused the room to quite literally, catch on fire. Luckily, Wylie was right there with a fire extinguisher, to save the day and keep his focus directed away from the cosmic, star-crossed lovers. United at long last.
When the two parted, it was almost certain this reunion would ignite the fires and things would pick up, right where they left off. Someone should have definitely sent Rebel that memo. For as soon as they separated, Rebel Star punched Azrael, square in the jaw. Thanks to the upgrade Wylie hooked her up with, during her first run in the XWF, Rebel had super strength accompanying all those other attributes, she had been cultivated to have. So that blow was enough to almost level the spaceman. From there she turned around and stormed out. Leaving behind a very confused Azrael, holding his face as he watched her walk away.
"Tomorrow night, Tommy Wish and I are set to take part in battle. A fight for ownership of the X-Treme title. Years ago, I made my debut on Wednesday Night Warfare. On February 10th, 2016 the world was introduced to Rebel Star. Now, on June 1st, 2019, I make my epic return on Savage Saturday Night! And I can't wait to get in that ring and kick some fucking ass!"
"Starting with Tommy Wish! The man that promised he would turn our match, into my very own snuff film. Well Mr. Wish, if I didn't already know that you were cracked in the head. Those words would certainly be all the proof I needed. See, while you think you're getting into the ring, with your typical, run of the mill, female. The reality of the situation is really quite different. While I'm a girl that looks killer in a pair of stilettos, I'm also the same wrestler that can throw down with some of the biggest, toughest, most brutal motherfuckers to ever grace the roster with their presence."
"Fighters you couldn't hold a candle to... I've met in battle and won. And you think you're going to put an end to me? Oh poor, stupid Tommy Wish, I'm going to enjoy showing you the error in your perception. Then I'm going to break you in half. Like a twig. There's really nothing you can do to stop me either but I expect that won't prevent you from trying and failing. On repeat until... SNAP! You're broken. It's inevitable, really. Survival of the fittest. Denying it, would be rejecting the basic fundamental way of life, in this world the slower, weaker creatures perish. Be glad you're a dumb human and not an antelope, you would have been dead and eaten ages ago. At least this way you get to stay alive. Barely."
