"Are you almost ready to go?" Chris's voice was a bit muffled, as it came from inside the bathroom, with the door closed.

"Almost, I am straightening my hair....ugh, you know how this goes."

"Yes. I'll move the reservations up a few hours."

"No, no, I am almost done."

This week was going to be an interesting one, for sure. They had beaten the team of Thomas Nixon and Brock Lesnar in round one, and now it felt to the both of them as if they were taking a step back. Wasn't competition supposed to be better the further you advance?

But that was their advantage, they had faced a late round team in the opening round.

They had big plans today. They were going to the fair, and to see a real life Side Show that was coming to Southern California. Chris didn't think those existed anymore.

They would be facing a real life side show this week.

Two freaks who looked like their mothers had medical plans that included abortion but couldn't get their mouths off the meth pipe for long enough to get in the stirrups.

This week was going to be their abortion.

"You know that this friendship wIth Maddy isn't going to last long, ya know?"

Jenny, still running her hair through the straightener inquired, "why you say that?"

Opening the bathroom door, he stepped out shirtless with a toothbrush in his mouth.

"Well, I am going to kick Engy's head off his shoulders on Warfare, and she probably won't like that much. Then, when we beat these two circus freaks this week--- and Maddy and her charity case happen to advance somehow---we have to face them. And we will beat them, too. So, treat last week as a one off--I need your head in the game."

She nods, pulling another stretch of hair through the straightener.

Chris had big plans. The Universal Title picture was a mess right now, and Bruce Blingsteen had turned the most prized division in sports entertainment into a daytime argument talk show. So while Caedus danced around like a minaret trying to get his title back, Chris was quietly going to win the King of the XWF Tournament and The Tag Team Titles with his girlfriend and partner Jenny---when the time was right, he would be Universal Champion again, also.

And she would be the Bombshell Champion.

Things were looking up, finally. After some dark times for Chaos, AX3 was dead, Gabe Reno was long gone, Jim Caedus was self destructing, and there was finally light at the end of the tunnel.

He had a crazy plan for Jenny on this day. A side show. She grew up in Vegas, home of magic and art such as Cirque du Soleil, but never something as old-school freaky as a side show.

Something as pointless as a sideshow.

But then again, he had never faced someone as weird as these two......

Or as pointless.

"I'm done, babe." He heard from outside. Spitting out his toothpaste, and washing it in the sink. He adjusted the shirt he had on and flipped his long, golden main back.

Opening the door he saw Jenny slipping her shoes on. She looked good today--she always looked good.

"This is going to be fun....I think you're going to enjoy it. "

"Where are we going anyway?"

"You know how a lot of time in my promos, I use the scenes around me to make a metaphorical point and relate them to my opponents?"

"Oh god....."

He grins. They get to the parking lot of the hotel, where his car is parked. Jenny stops.

"What are you doing?"

"Valet isn't bringing the car up?"

"Umm......no. You have legs, and sexy ones at that. Come on, you can walk 100 feet. Not gonna kill ya."

She rolls her eyes and begins walking.

There were lights all around, you could see it for miles. It kind of reminded Jenny of her home in Vegas, a little light visible from a seemingly endless desert. And, like Vegas, there were people everywhere. People of all sorts.

Looking out the window and chewing, rather loudly, on her gum, she was wondering if the car was ever going to stop--she kind of needed to pee.

Finally, biting her lip when she thought she was going to have an accident---the car rolled into a parking spot. $20 to park, where do they get off?

"Are you kidding me? All they have here are porta potties? Yuck. I'd rather piss myself and let it air dry."

Chris smirked. "Well, we are going to a side show, you'd fit right in. Come see the piss lady! Pissed piss lady, right hera! Step right up watch the blonde diva drizzle in her leggings! 10 dollars, can I get ten dollars hera!"

She laughs, snorting a bit, slapping him in the chest. "Don't make me laugh, I really am gonna pee."

"That'll be 10 dollars."

"Shut up, and find me a real bathroom."

The toilet flushed, Jenny wiped and pulled her leggings up and opened the stall door. The bathroom was weirdly lit, barely lit, and eerily quiet.

She went to turn on the water, and it sputtered out like a partially blocked hose. Spurts in all directions, and not very strong.

There were shadows in places there shouldn't be shadows. Of course, there was no liquid soap. What the fuck was this? Hell she would have been better off in the porta potty.

Walking out, she had a weird chill, even on a 70 degree night. Something wasn't right. She couldn't put a finger on it, but something was strange to her. She didn't know why, but she didn't like this place.

Walking out she saw Chris, who was in the middle of a big soft pretzel and a bottle of water.

"Lets just get this over with" she said "place is already creeping me out."

"You found the only real bathroom at the entire damn fair, and your still complaining?"

She looked at him with pistols in her eyes.

He tilted the food towards her and talked with a mouthful.
"Pretzel?"

As they walked to the "dark side" of the fair, towards where this sideshow was, they began to pass signs of shows of old. Photo's that made her shiver a little, but also kind of reminded her a bit of her current situation.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" She asked. "I can think of a lot more fun things to do. Let's go down by the hotel pool and drink dinner, I'll have Pablo serv--"

"Stop being such a baby, it will be fun. Come on. Take my hand."

He grabbed her hand, squeezing as they interlaced fingers.

Some names like "freak" "pyscho" "Pickled punks".

"Oh my god."

"Are those......"

"Keep walking, don't look."

They get to the front curtain, there wasn't much of a line. She didn't have to wonder why.

While standing in line, she saw a sign that made her think a bit about a current situation she was in.

She smiled a bit to herself, pointing to the sign with that hand that wasn't locked with Chris's.

"Chris, look, they have Nemesis here! No wonder we haven't signed her, they couldn't find her! And who in their right mind would come here?"

"We're here."

"That explains a lot."

They kiss as they step up to one behind the front of the line.

They get to the entrance, and the man taking tickets---was it even a man? Something in there told her not to go in there.

She took a deep breath as Chris paid the admission and the two walked through the tent, straight into the psycho circus, head on.

She didn't have time for fear.

This particular sideshow, the largest left in the country she was told, is a Ten-in-One. That means it had pretty much everything one of these things had to offer, often times ten different "curiosities" for the price of one.

Kind of like a strip club, except you didn't have to tip.

Ugh, why couldn't they have gone to a strip club, she would have felt much more comfortable there.

As soon as they walked through the curtain, the shenanigans began. The floor was sticky, everything was dirty. She felt dirty even breathing in there.

Right away, she knew this was nothing like the "sideshows" in Vegas. There was what looked like blood caked in with the dirt on the off white walls and what looked like hollowed out caverns, cages almost, for these.......these.....things.

The first "exhibit" was the "born freaks"....this included midgets, giants or persons with other deformities, or "made freaks" like tattooed people, fat people or "human skeletons". How was this a curiosity, one trip through her Facebook wall or one channel surf through daytime television would show her all of this. Midgets aren't an attraction anymore, hell she just beat one up last week. Giants, hell, Jack Cain could be considered here. How is this an attraction? There is nothing attractive about that. Copious amounts of tattoos are considered hot now, fat people are common place, ever been to Wisconsin?, and human skeletons.....ask any girl with an eating disorder if they want to be gawked at. Pssht, nothing to see here, if anything, this is a representation of society. American society.

Next.

Next were the "working acts". These acts were a lot like XWF superstars, and not a lot unlike her and Chris's opponents this week. They would perform magic tricks and daredevil stunts. Often times the "freak show" acts would perform these stunts too.....but they would sell things such as souvenir with their life stories on them. No different than reading the roster page of most of these losers in the XWF. She wouldn't spend a quarter on them, why spend two dollars here?

They continued to walk. Chris didn't seem phased by any of this. He was so strong, he didn't seem to be rattled--ever--he was her rock. She wasn't going to lie, she knew that these two no talent hacks they had this week weren't better than them in the ring, but the fact they were both certifiably insane made them dangerous. They would stop at nothing to get their disgusting, sweaty hands on her.

It made her puke a little in her mouth to think about it.

Most of these Ten-in-One shows were obsolete. A lot more places featured just a single, "O", show. Single-O, doesn't sound like a very good time.

She bit her lip and grinned a bit as they kept walking through the XWF-in-carnival. The company she worked for was nothing but a big side show and in a weird way, they were the main attraction.

She couldn't decide if that was good or bad.

The working acts were currently going on around them. These all were good ideas--truthfully--to incorporate into wrestling matches. fire eating, sword swallowing, knife throwing, body piercing, lying on a bed of nails, walking up a ladder of sharp swords, all of these would be cool ideas. It made her most in her nether reasons to think about all of this stuff within the confines of the ring.....

Was she a masochist?

Did she like pain?

She thought yes to both.

Their pace had picked up. They walked past all of the live show stuff. She wondered why. Why would he take her here if they weren't going to stop and look at stuff? There had to be a reason, there was always a reason with him.

When they got near the end, a rather skethcy looking guy--or at least what she thought was a guy--approached them. Apparently there was a final act, that you had to pay for. This was called "The Blow Off".

They blew it off, and began to exit out of the back of the giant tent structure.

"Well.....what did you learn?"

"Why did we go in there if we were going to only be there 5 minutes? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?"

"Well," Chris said grinning, "that is all these things are worth. That is all groups like Panzer's Pyscho Circus are worth, but I wanted to go in first to show that even though they seem imposing, they really aren't that bad......."

She rubbed her chin. She had to pee again, weirdly.

As they turned the corner to exit, she glanced in. Inside were jars of something.....those must be the pickled punks.

Pickled punks is the carny term for human fetuses preserved in jars of formaldehyde and used as sideshow attractions.

"Are those....."

"Come on...." he pulled her arm and they exited out of the tent. "Do you think I want to pay money to bring back bad memories? I just wanted you to know the type of freakshow we were walking into Saturday, and to show you that as long as your head is in it they can be overcome."

"Can we......can we go back in?"

"Atta girl," he said with a smile.

"This time, bring a lighter. I want to see the "Blow Off".
