Truth. Justice. The American Way. Most people wouldn't describe Eric Rex as 'virtuous', but he does hold these ideals in high regard.

Truth-Eric Rex has always taken pride in exposing liars and hypocrites. He may be guilty of a lot of things, but he is a man of his word. Unlike Wallace Witasick. Unlike Peter Gilmour. Both of these men purport to be something more than they are. They build themselves up as being special and set-apart.

Justice-Eric Rex has built his life around knocking people like that down. Eric Rex is an instrument of justice. Eric Rex is a malicious, methodical, machine. Peter Gilmour is a fat, bloated, cyst filled with the puss of weakness. That cyst gets popped on Wednesday.

The American Way-Titles, fame, glory, adoration...None of that matters. Capitalism. The American System. It's how's Rex has thrived. The money is what matters. That being said, if it means his wares will be advertised...if his stature can be raised...he will gain new clients...Eric Rex will do it. That's why Wednesday, he's taking Gilmour's Wild Card.

Peter Gilmour. "The Xtreme Icon". "The King of Wrestling". Not quite. You see, I, Eric Rex, am the King of My Domain. It just so happens that, as of right now, 'wrestling' is my domain. That Wild Card is mine, Gilmour.

The air was thick with smog and heat. The temperature seemed to be rising by the hour and Rex was pushing himself harder and harder up the hill by his house. He could feel his focus shifting and he hoped to push it back into place with sheer exhaustion.

"It's sooooooo hot, daddy," Lacey said, bobbing up and down in the strap on Eric's back. "Can we please stop soon?" Rex ignored the request and pressed forward. He knows he's using her. He knows, very well, that what he's doing will have lasting, negative effects on her. He doesn't care.

Lacey Witasick, while she has been with Eric Rex, already has a head-start on him at the same age. When Rex was at the point that she's at currently, he was being beaten and left, bloody, in his foster parent's basement. A bag of dry beans, and water next to him. Odd, that his personal menu hasn't changed much sense.

Power, control, and money are the driving forces in Eric Rex's life. Why, the money? Why? Even he's not too sure. For his entire adult life, he's lived out of a backpack. The apartment he currently lives in is furnished with a couch, 2 twin-sized beds (1 for him and one for Lacey), and a coffee table. Two bed-rooms, a shared bath. Eric Rex is simple. He owns a total of 7 t-shirts, and 4 pairs of pants. One pair of boots.

Where does the money go?

Sal Valencia has wondered that many times, but he's known Rex longer than anyone else. He knows it's saved. Put back. For what purpose, he has no idea. Sal gets stir-crazy after 3 minutes at Eric's place. He doesn't go often.
"Pleeeeeeeeeessssssssuh!" Lacey brings us back to where we were. Eric is slipping. Letting himself get annoyed at her. He doesn't usually get to this point with anyone. That's started happening more and more with the girl. He gets annoyed, irritated...He even feels pride in her at times. He's caught himself smiling at the girl once and a while.

She's dangerous.

Rex stops and unfastens the harness holding her to his back. She's 8 years old, but small for her age. She weighs about 56lbs, which was the perfect weight to add on his morning run. Since she's so bored, she gets to run too. Rex has been impressed by her motivation, and right now is no different. Any other child, gets bored, wants to go home and sit in front of the TV. Lacey hasn't even seemed to notice that it's missing from his home. She runs without questioning. Rex speeds up and starts to leave her.

She presses forward.

He looks over his shoulder and slows. The phone rings. He stops.

"What is it, Sal?"

"Gilmour, Wally's buddy, your opponent this week...Have you SEEN his fiance? Jesus Christ."

"Is that all you called me about?"

"No, no, no. You're not listening. This chick is gorgeous. He's a hothead. Play this smart, Eric."

"Already working on it, Sal. What else is going on? How's Roland doing?"

"TELL SAL HE SMELLS LIKE A GRANDMA!" shouted Lacey as she finally approached.

"He's doing very well with the character. Should go off without a hitch."

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow."

On Friday, Eric Rex took a portion of the money that was paid to him by the newest member of The Academi, Eli James IV, and began funding the orphanage they had found Lacey Witasick in. The kids fell in love with Victor Gobalsky, Rex's personal bodyguard. And he's been missing them since.

Victor spent the weekend in a deep depression and waking to vomit. He's having night terrors. All because he knows that Eric Rex's concern for those children is not genuine. He knows that, just like himself and Lacey, they are tools at his disposal. Every day that he wakes up and remembers who he works for, he considers the pistol on his bedside.

Everytime he remembers Sasha's last words, "You must stop her," he becomes too paralyzed with fear to do even that. Victor is in deep.

So is Lacey.

So is Sal.

So is Eric Rex.

And not one of them realizes just how deep.
