*We fade in to 2 sitting on a dark chocolate colored chair. Appears to be a recliner. It's hard to tell the surroundings. He fiddles with a toothpick between his index finger and thumb. His gaze is titled upward a few feet above the camera. Not a focused look, but one of thought.*
Welcome to my home.
*the camera zooms out some and we see that we are in a large scantily decorated living room. It's neat and seemingly purposefully sparse of things. Ok a wall several feet behind the chair, there are several framed photos of 2 and a woman, as well as of them separately, as well as friends. There is also a closed door. 2 brings the focus back to him with his voice.*
I thought I would give you a little insight into me. A little background to fill in your foreground. So you know how serious I am and how worried a few of you should be.
*2 the toothpick into his mouth. Positions it where he wants, then stands from out of the chair and walks toward the camera.*
Let's change the venue a little bit first.
*He reaches out and grabs the camera. A quick spin later and we are shown another wall a few feet away. The camera moves towards the wall, then towards a doorway. The camera is set down in the middle of this room, it faces a wall covered in shelves and cork boards with trophies and ribbons.*
This is my trophy room. I know it might seem a little odd to some of you, a grown ass man keeping all these awards through his life. Having a room full of them even.
*2 walks in front of the camera. He pulls down a trophy with one hand. Pulls a ribbon from a board with another. And turns back, bringing the labels closer. both are for 2nd place.*
These are special to me though. Reminders. Fuel for the fire on days I may not feel like getting up. Because I won all of these. And they are all for 2nd place!
My whole life I was a hard worker. Willing to put in the hours to pick up skills. I have always been somewhat athletic but never gifted in any way. Just driven to be the best I could be. But I was always a step shy. And it was always some talented kid who got lucky. Or some long reigning champ that I just could push off the top of the hill. I was second best for most of my life, and into a crappy chunk of my career.
The rage just kept building and building until I broke. I swallowed everything I could for years, and that turned into swallowing booze, and pills.....
*2 fidgets with the toothpick in his mouth*
And smokes. Man I miss those the most.
*He puts the trophy and ribbon back in place. He then walks back to the camera and turns it again. This time there is a mantle, and some shelves, all adorned with wrestling title belts.*
And even in that haze. Or fog. Or shit, darkness. I was able to find my way. I got clean a time or two or three, which never made a difference in my standings anywhere I've worked before, but I don't remember all the things I did while holding some of these belts. I once held three of these at the same time, and lost them all in the same drug induced night.
*He smiles*
You see, the drugs helped me forget about my life. About all these trophies and ribbons and belts. They let me forget that I was always second best, until I wasn't second best. I was THE best. And then I wasn't. In one fell swoop I let something besides me, take control, and it cost me almost everything. Cost me championships. Relationships. Friendships. Nearly took the woman I love from my life as well.
But it was a gift in disguise. A reminder.
*2 waves his hands in front of the different belts. *
Because what you don't see here, is a world title. Even then I wasn't capable of getting the title I felt I truly deserved. I held 3 titles at the same time and yet I couldn't hold the title as the best wrestler in the world. Not a single time. Yet.
But if you look at these belts. They tell you things about me, some I've already said, and others you will all learn over time.
Wish and Him are going to find out the best lesson of them all though, when it comes to violence. When it comes to weapons, no one is better at it then I am. Nobody is willing to put themselves at as much risk as I am. No one has the proven track record of destruction, both to others and myself. My personal life, my in ring life. It's all a train wreck waiting to happen.
And the two of you will be right at the front of the line for it. As I take metal, and wood, and use them to smash as many of your bones as I can. Like a tube of paint, I'll squeeze as much of your blood out of your body and adorn the ring with it. And there isn't a single fucking thing either of you can do about it.
*2 smiles grimly, his hands drop down to his sides, and he moves his head and body closer to the camera.*
You are nothing but the bottom rung on a ladder. The first step on my climb to the top. And in ready to stomp you down, to make sure my rise is steady.
Isn't the world of metaphors such a beautiful place?
*2 walks away from the camera. Then seems to remember something.*
Also? Who out marbles in Tommy Wish's mouth? Like for serious, I can barely understand shit that guy says.
Maybe I need a doctors visit. I'll see the two of you in the ER after I'm done with you.
*end*
