Quickly following Haden's ramble on the Jay Leno show the internet quickly let loose of early witnesses of the event. TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, and Yahoo! News began running stories as soon as they could get their hands on the information from those who witnessed the bizarre interview. Jay Leno was not really upset at his outburst because he did, after all, get a very rare car from Haden and everyone was entertained. Jay was really left in confusion and was unsure how to handle the rest of the show, but Haden left after a mutual parting with Jay keeping the door open for his return very soon.
As Haden was leaving he was able to meet Ben Stiller and Queens of the Stone Age backstage for a brief moment. They all exchanged information and being the polite business man Haden is... he offered them a free weeks pass at his hotel in Vegas.
He gets in his limo that's waiting on him and is preparing for his next meeting.
The limo arrives at The London West Hollywood, a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, and walks right in with reservations ready for an early dinner. Awaiting Mr. Thomas at the table is Gordon Ramsey himself, and the beautiful Candice Swanepoel. Gordon stands and shakes Haden's hand, then Haden and Candice give a nice kiss.. followed by everyone sitting down.
"Good to see you."
"Good to see you too, Gordon. It's been a while. It seems everything is still going well for you my friend."
"Absolutely."
"And Candice, looking beautiful as ever. The last time we saw each other, I believe your clothes were laying on my floor?"
"Oh, hush. Hehe."
"So, Gordon, I believe the proposed deal I made was for you to cater some of the XWF events to help with some of their diets, and trust me some of them need it, and help each other with publicity. You help a company with grade A food and health, and we send millions of fans to your business. Sponsorship can work out well for both of us. And I believe some well produced commercials during your televised shows."
"Sounds great to me. You've never led me down the wrong tunnel, and while I'm not really into the whole wrestling thing, I see a good proposal that works out great for both of us. I love helping companies who are dying."
"It's what people don't understand. We're both about helping. Sometimes, to help you must destroy and rebuild. It's what the other owner doesn't understand. He wants to keep things the same because he's blind. He sees it working and doesn't want to change anything. I see it as a slowly dying company that needs to be restructured. And I know that's what you are about and what you want to help do as well with this deal."
"Perfect. Just fax over the paper work, I'll get my guys to look over everything, sign them, and send them back over."
"I'll check with the Administrator of the XWF to make sure everything is covered and get his signature on a few things, and we'll be good to go. Gordon, I appreciate your business and willingness to help out."
"It's my pleasure, Haden. Always good to see you. Keep in touch. Enjoy your meal."
Gordon and Haden shake each others hands with smiles on their faces. Gordon leaves as the waiter brings out some type of chicken to both Haden and Candice.
"I'm glad you were able to come, Candice. Thanks for sitting here while Gordon and myself handled some business."
"No problem. I know you, always having something with business up your sleeve."
"So, how have you been? Life treating you well?"
"Yes. Everything's going great. I have another Victoria Secret shoot going on in about three weeks so I'm just staying around here until then."
"Why don't you come and join me in Indiana for Monday's show? I know you would have a great time."
"I don't know, Haden. It seems like a lot of traveling again. The last time I traveled with you, you left without saying goodbye."
"Well, I..."
"And you didn't call me or return my calls for another month."
"I was a busy man with priorities in many different places. Now, not much has changed but some things have changed. Listen, I'm not looking to be in a relationship with you or anyone for that matter. What I am looking for is someone to talk to, to have fun with, and someone to enjoy evenings together with. We both have our busy lives, but wouldn't it be nice out of that busy schedule to take a few minutes away to just be with each other? "
"It does. I don't have time to be in a relationship really, but how do I know you just won't leave me again like some girl you met at a party?"
"You just have to ask yourself... am I worth the gamble?"
Haden places his arm on the table towards Candice with his money making smile. She can't help but smile back and fall for him. She reaches and grabs his hand.
"I'm glad you think the same as I do."
"You are, after all, Haden Oliver Thomas. I guess it would be kind of stupid not to take the gamble, huh?"
Haden and Candice continue the nice late-afternoon dinner together with a great meal provided by Gordon Ramsey. The two share a few stories about their time together in the past and trying to reconnect like two lost lovers. Near the end of the meal as the two begin on finishing their dessert, Haden's phone rings. It's his assistant, Jen.
"Sir, sorry to bother you. I was calling to confirm the meeting with Mr. Lesnar and his wife Rena. They both arrived early this morning in California after you offered to pay for their travel expenses, and are fine meeting at 7:30pm. Is there somewhere specific you would like to schedule this meeting?"
"The Beverly Garland. Make sure they have transportation there and book them a nice suite for a few days."
"Yes sir. Done."
"Thanks. Talk to you soon.
Say, Candice, would you be interested in joining me for another meeting this evening with two special guests? It's at our old spot at The Beverly Garland."
"Let's go."
The two finish off their dessert and head off to The Beverly Garland.
THURSDAY // JANUARY 16, 2014 // 7:21pm EST
On the way to the Garland, Haden and Candice had some special time together in the limo on the way to make up for lost time. The weather has held up nicely even with a small percent chance of rain. Haden and Candice both walk into a nice foyer area where Brock and Rena just arrive seconds before. The four introduce themselves and have a seat at a nice table with wine glasses and an expensive bottle of wine.
"It's good to finally meet the both of you. I've been a fan of yours for a while now."
"Thanks. What's this deal you were talking about?"
"Straight to business. I like it. Need a Coors Light, Budweiser, or anything, Brock?"
"Coors."
"I know you've never really been much about wins or losses, you just enjoy fighting and getting paid. I understand that. A lot has happened since your fight in the XWF and I'm sure you don't really care all that much, right?"
"No. Not really. I came in, as a favor to Paul and Dana, did my thing and now I'm enjoying my time with my family."
"I know you hate traveling. Me? I love it. All the new sights, smells, among other things... there's something about it. That's neither here nor there. I'm not here to offer you a travel plan. I'm here to offer you something for yourself, for your family, and something that helps both of us out. If you don't like it, then we go our separate ways and that's that. It's a very simple choice. You either want more money and to help everyone involved, or you don't and you just go about your life as it is."
"I'm fine making money. I'm not obsessed about it, but if I can make a dollar then why not? It just depends what you have to offer."
"Sure. First, let me say the both of you are free to stay in your suite here as long as a week on me. All the beer, wine, room service, and massages you both could want. Everything paid. That's not a part of the deal, that's just saying thank you for coming out here today. So don't sweat the plane tickets, the limo ride here or anything. That's on me."
"Laying it on thick?"
"Heh. No. That's not me laying it on thick, Brock. I like to let people I invest in choose. I just happen to be generous up to that point. I know you have a very strange contract in the XWF that you signed with Paul Heyman before he was released. I'm not sure what the company planned on as far as using you, even if at all, or if they were just going to let your contract run out and release you.
Everyone seems to be choosing some sort of side in the company. The Black Circle, The Congregation, or the Administration. I was never meant to be a part of a side. I came as a part of the solution. The Administrator saw it that way and that's why I'm where I'm at right now. Shane dismissed my ideas and investing opportunities because he thought...well I'm not sure what the hell Shane thought. We don't really see eye to eye it seems, so I went to the other man in charge and we, very much, see eye to eye on a lot. After our meeting, you may walk away not seeing eye to eye with me. And that's fine. We'll just go our separate ways until our paths cross again.
My deal, Brock, is to use your name as a licensing of sort for a few of my other investments. You'll receive a nice paycheck every week for using it, of course. I also want us to work out a deal with the XWF to help usher in some change. I see Brock Lesnar as a gateway to something bigger, like television deals, DVD sells, or even doing some cross promotion with the UFC. Brock, the sky is the limit when you take a household name like yours and put it in the hands of a genius with money like myself. It. Just. Works.
I could have gone to several other people to try and do this same thing. I came to you because one, I like you....two, you have more potential to give...and three, I think we can help each other out more than if I were to work with someone else. I'm not going to sit here and lay out every single detail right now. It's boring. It's dull. It makes for a meaningless chatter after a long flight. I gave you a summary. So, what I want you to do is not give me an answer right now. I want you and your lovely wife to go, enjoy yourselves, and do whatever the fuck you want. Sleep in. Stay in the hotel. Go watch some shows or enjoy some entertainment. I really don't care. At some point, I want you both, because some things in this contract concerns you too Rena... at some point I want you both to look at the contract...the big letters...the paragraphs...and even the small print. You got questions, then call me. In a few weeks, I want this to be either signed or ripped up. Sound good?"
"I don't know all the details, but this was a great meeting."
"Get the fuck out of here and go enjoy yourselves. We'll be in touch."
"Have fun Monday against Theo."
Brock gives a smirk like he actually enjoyed this type of business meeting. Brock and Rena walk off as Haden sits back and smiles. Candice leans by Haden's ear and starts to kiss it.
"I love new beginnings."
"You think they'll accept the offer?"
"After going out twice, fucking you, and then leaving you without calling or returning your calls...seeing you again years later and within a few hours get you to come with me here, agree to come with me to Indiana, and have some fun on the way here... I ask you.... do you think they'll accept my offer?"
