Fall was a beautiful season, the leaves changing colors, the crisp fresh air nipping at the exposed flesh…but with such beauty, comes with a price. It’s the season where the world we see and the world we fear meet and open doors that make our nightmares, reality. The season of Hell, is what my brother always calls it. It was the season of our births and the season of our deaths. Sometimes, life is hard as a Vampire. Being in control of life and death, standing still while the world continues to age and die with time. We have the power to save a life that was meant to die or take a life that was meant to live.

Tomorrow, I face a man who…I don’t even know what to call him. He speaks as if he’s from a future time and to be honest, it’s quite annoying. We have a first blood match and I’m curious how they plan on stopping me from creating the paradox. I won’t be held for Mystica’s mistake if I rip the other mans’ throat.

Micah?

My eyes turned towards Alexandra and I smiled softly, Lexi.

She looked concerned as she walked over, her hand resting on my shoulder and the other holding a steaming cup of coffee, Is everything alright?

I nodded, Aye, just tired.

Lexi smiled softly and handed me the cup of coffee, You need this more than I do.

A smile graced my lips and I took the cup, jumping slightly when she gasped, What?

She took my hand, shocked, When did you get this?!

I blushed softly, The other day. Michael popped the question and…we’re going to try to start a family.

Lexi totally fangirled over the idea and she hugged me, Do you have anything planned?

I couldn’t help but laugh, No, not yet. He just asked, Lexi.

That doesn’t mean you can’t have any plans.

She crossed her arms and glared at me. She had planned my last wedding, taking everything but the date out of my hands.

Time, Lexi. Please.

Her eyes softened and I looked back over the water, You’re scared.

I’m happy, excited…but yes…I’m scared. You would think I wouldn’t be.

Micah…

I never thought I would get married again, not after losing Riley and Kain. What if something happens and I lose Michael and our child?

Lexi smiled and kissed my forehead, That won’t happen. Live in this time, not any other time.

I laughed softly and leaned against her. It was nice having her again but my other secret would be sure to break us.

You know how there’s talk that Nova’s a vampire?

Yeah?

I’m the one who changed him. I had a taste of his blood at Michael’s Shove it and…it was…addicting. His scent found me and I couldn’t help it. I gave in and took off, hunting the scent and I changed him.

What? You... You changed him?

I nodded, I was so…taken by the taste of his blood that I turned him for the demon’s foolish reasons.

I pulled away from her, my eyes looking down into the river that flowed under our feet.

I shouldn't care…except...I'm the one that attacked Zak at the park...now…Nova's going to be out for my blood. No matter where I go…I won’t be safe.

I know. I could smell Zak’s blood on you when you walked up.

Lexi looked at me and I just tapped my nose, Zak is one to get revenge on his own. He’ll calm Nova and he’ll stop Nova from killing you. Zak’s very much a mate for a mate…if he gets revenge; it will be against David, not you. Thank you for the loft.

I handed her the note she left on the table when Michael and I had gotten home the night she went to live with David at the compound.

It was nothing.

Lexi smiled and she took my hand, pulling me towards Times Square.

Where are we going

Out for lunch and then…shopping. How does…black and white sound?

Lexi….

Move it, Micah.

I let her pulled me towards the city, groaning softly but I realized it would be a good distraction…a very welcoming distraction from my possible crime scene.
