A Familiar Face (Sort Of.)
Originally when Chicago was being created they wanted to have several piers, or they planned to have several piers. For some unknown reason they began the construction on the second pier first or as was known then, Pier 2. So they constructed a pier that they all wanted to be there second pier and named in Pier 2. Then for some reason the construction on the other piers that they wanted to have did not happen leaving them with just one pier known as pier number 2. Weird I know, but it is all ok though because the pier’s name was changed to Navy Pier and millions of people enjoy it each day.
Chris Macbeth is sat on a speed boat with navy pier to his side and the Chicago skyline behind him as a tour guide is stood at the front throwing off all these interesting facts about the city he lives in. Next to Macbeth is Faith, a woman who had spotted him in The Globe Sports bar a day before and had walked straight up to him and gave him a slap round the face. Apparently she knew him. Macbeth though had know idea who she was.
After sitting in the bar for a few hours talking it was apparent to Macbeth that he was previously in some sort of relationship with her before the whole Nightmare/Order of demons thing. This is one thing though that Macbeth really couldn’t remember and she was angry about that and honestly Macbeth was a bit gutted to because this girl was smoking hot.
Faith as angry and confused as to why Macbeth couldn’t remember and to where he had been. Obviously he couldn’t tell her about The Order of Demons heck ever since taking off the mask he has found it difficult to remember what happened in that time himself. He really did think though that his memory had completely returned from his life prior but apparently not.
After some carefully chosen words Macbeth had managed to calm Faith down and the enjoyed an evening of food and drink together. Everything was all knew for Macbeth but he couldn’t help but understand how annoyed and confused she must have been. She thought he had just left her, disappeared. Obviously we know he hadn’t but she didn’t. She is though a forgiving lady and Macbeth’s promise to someday make it right and share his story with her seemed to do the trick. Macbeth though needed to speak to Nightmare about all this, he didn’t know if he could tell her about what happened or not, Nightmare would know.
For now though he was just enjoying Faith’s company all over again. That brings us to this speedboat ride which the caught down at the pier. When they had awoke this morning in Macbeth’s apartment which Faith obviously knew her way around to well for her to have never been there before she asked Macbeth to take her down to the pier so they could go on this speed boat ride together. Macbeth obliged and here they are getting soaked as this isn’t just any speed boat ride, no, no, this is the Sea Hog, an extreme speedboat ride. As they make a big arching turn Faith hugs into Macbeth to shield herself from getting sprayed in the face by the cold water, they both laugh hysterically as Macbeth takes the brunt of the water all down his back.
As the extreme section of the ride settles down Faith looks at Macbeth intently, Macbeth without moving his head just moves his eyes to look at her. She continues to just look at him. Eventually Macbeth looks over properly.
”What’s up?”
”Do you really not remember any of this?”
Macbeth looks a little confused.
”About 3 days before you disappeared off of the face of the earth you took me on here before taking me to the Signature Room for a meal. “
Macbeth shakes his head as Faith gets a little annoyed.
”Oh, Come on Chris, you must be able to remember. At least the signature room, we were sat there enjoying a meal when security came in and escorted that other young couple out of the building because she was under the table giving the guy head.”
Macbeth smiles a little before dropping his head, the is a sad look in his face that he can’t remember all these what sound like fun times with this great girl. He has to speak to Nightmare, if anyone can bring these memories back it is him.
The speed boat pulls back up to the pier, Faith is looking a bit upset as she steps off followed by Macbeth. He notices this so grabs her buy the hand and leads her to the sidewalk where a taxi is parked up. Macbeth opens the door and Faith gets in, he follows her in.
”Where we going, I thought we were going to spend the day at the pier?”
Macbeth smiles and here and leans towards the taxi driver.
”Signature rooms please driver.”
He turns back towards Faith who now has a smile on her face. Macbeth sits back in his seat and she grabs his hand as they taxi pulls away from the pier.
Where are my thoughts?
It is the middle of the night and Chris Macbeth is stood in Millennium Park. He is waiting for his masked friend Nightmare to arrive. There are a few other people quietly walking around the park minding there own business as Macbeth is his. Macbeth hears a voice from behind him, he turns back towards the voice.

Nightmare is stood before him and Macbeth approaches.
”I have met a girl... for the second time... there is still things I can’t remember, you said you would show me everything, but you haven’t. Either that or she has lied to me about the whole thing.”
”She has not lied top you my Apprentice and I did show you this, you have just chosen to not remember it.”
”What! Why would I do that?”
”This I do not know but why do you now not just enjoy each others company going forward. Forget about the past.”
”What am I supposed to tell her, remember I just disappeared out of her life for months then suddenly re-appeared again with no memory that we had ever known each other. She has questions. Can I tell her the truth, or at least about you and the order?”
NO!! You must not discuss this with anyone; The order is dead and must be kept that way. You must try to deter her from asking any further question that could compromise our history.”
”Nightmare, she is not going to let this go without answers, you need to help me somehow.”
Nightmare thinks for a little while as the two men walk through Millennium Park in the darkness of this cool summer’s night. He finally stops and turns to Macbeth.
”There is one thing I can do.”
”What is it, anything?”
[white]”I could visit her in a dream, from there I can erase the portion of her memory in which you had previously been part of her life. You can both start a fresh from now.”[white]
Macbeth takes a step back an uneasy look on his face. What should he do, should he let Nightmare visit the dreams of Faith to ensure they have a future together? When you put it like that the answer is a resounding yes, of course. Macbeth wants this to work out and if this is the only way it can happen then this is what they will have to do.
