Elisha is standing, hunched forward, face toward the camera. It's clear he's in a cabin somewhere. Lacey Rex stands beside him, tightly gripping his hand. His eyes are closed, he mouth is stained red. He speaks. No stutter. No twitch. No, she speaks through him. Right?

Hush, little baby. Don't say a word. Momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird. If that mockingbird won't sing, momma's gonna strangle it with a string. Sebastian Duke, Griffin, you already know. You already know monsters are real, but you've not been exposed to us. Mystica and my baby boy...and me, we embody that word. Tonight is a test. Eli is testing us. Is it a test for you too? Are you worthy? Elisha is.

It was a strange combination of guys who Eli had chosen to defend the teag team titles. One man had somewhat helped Eli gain the titles, that being Eric Rex, or Elisha as he's known now. The other, Eli's first disciple of the XWF.. Mystica. Both became involved in Eli's cause and purpose, but neither have actually met. Well, kinda.

Eric Rex and Mystica have never met formally. They never faced each other in the ring, and their paths have never crossed. Maybe Eli saw a bigger picture that nobody else did at the time. Eli, perhaps, knew Eric's inner monster and was willing to help it be unleashed at first, then controlled. We have already seen the monster Mystica be released and could not be controlled by the man, David Martin. Two sides of the spectrum. Two men from different corners of the world and two monsters that could be quite.. similar in some way.

Eli James IV was an untrusted friend, a money source, to Eric Rex. Mystica had become a new disciple of Eli James. Once part of the plan was captured, then Eli pulled the trigger on the other part. End Eric Rex.

Who was the person to help destroy and crucify Eric Rex? Oddly, his new partner, Mystica. David Martin and Eric Rex would have made a good pairing in any form. David, the smarts.. the patient one.. the one who would study, stalk, then attack.. and Eric.. the muscles.. the passion.. the drive.. the methodical brawling style.. and added smarts thanks to his past. Yes, the two would compliment each other if they had ever joined forces.

Elisha and Mystica? That's a strange combo. Both are vicious monsters.

With Elisha, there is no man.. only the beast we've all come to get sick to our stomachs about.. with him bringing dead animals to peoples doorstep. That and his young 'mother' who seems to be crazy as Elisha is.

With Mystica, there is a man. Mystica and David work well with each other. They are beginning to understand some of Eli's ways. Both David and Mystica thought once with Eli.. Mystica would be gone. Oddly, Eli hasn't been like that at all. He seems to enjoy Mystica and Elisha. We're not sure why, yet.

They once saw each other when they helped Eli crucify Neo-Nero. They seemed to understand they were a team, joined by Eli. This will be the first ti me they work together as a team.. defending two title belts against Griffin MacAlister and Sebastian Duke.

Eli has kept them both somewhat separate since the Neo-Nero crucifix. They're both on The Promise Land, but Elisha is self removed deep into his cave far from everyone. Elisha did leave some dead animals on the doorstep of Mystica's home as a gift. That could mean approval. Maybe Eric Rex is totally gone and all that's left is the monster Elisha. Maybe Eric Rex knew what happened had to be done.

We could only assume there is no Eric Rex anymore. And that there is no Lacey Witasick. What we're left with is the monster Elisha, and his young mother, Lacey Rex.

That's one side of the team.

The other side, we have a loyal man in David Martin and a loyal monster in Mystica. Though loyal, ready to destroy.

Monsters are feared around the world. When something shows itself and it's not a normal species, we label it monster. It's scary. People fear the unknown. It's what Eli has been preaching.

These two monsters get their chance to prove themselves worthy of Eli that they are the ones he was looking for, especially Mystica. Eli handed over his half of the tag team title to Mystica for a reason. He saw something within him that he deemed worthy of being called a champion. The one who is now Elisha, was the other half with Eli when the tag team titles were won.

The first two opponents are not easy. This will definitely go to prove Eli made the right decision. They face a strong team in Duke and Griffin. Two monsters against two giants.
